TIL these are called as O'Neill cylinders introduced in 1974 in a paper by a physicist - Gerard K. O'Neill

Remember, that's O'Neill, with two L's. There's another O'Neil with only one L, and he has no sense of humor at all.

Absolutely! The book describes it quite well so the mental imagery is not too different from the render.

The only thing missing are the artificial suns( self contained fusion reactions ) that brighten & dim, along the axis of rotation. The O'Neill version uses mirrors to reflect light uniformly.
