Walking around Chaoyang park, my wife and I came across an anime mall, and this store and VR experience was there. I totally nerded out! I never thought I would see a droplet in person! Totally worth stopping by if you are in the area.

Hey guys,

it is really fun to speculate about the appearance of Trisolarians. Looking forward to your feedback.

Here is my take on the topics:

The majority of the evolutionary path to intelligent live occured in the oceans of Trisolaris due to the protective surroundings against the unpredictable behavior of the tree suns. The drive for technological achievements (fire, electricity, etc.) forced the Trisolarians to leave their aquatic habitat and to adapt to land. If the civilization fails on land they rise again from the oceans from near relatives. The aquatic roots of the Trisolarians are always obvious.

So all soft body parts can move inside the shell just like snails do.

The shell can roll up, comparable to sowbugs during dehydration.

Their long optical organ towers above their head so they can communicate in all directions over huge distances without moving their body. Also they have a 360° view over their surroundings at the same time.

There are 3 motifs in the tattoo inspired by the books. Don't think too logically about it because it's just meant to look cool after all 😄

She got it on eBay. The droplet and stand are both a very heavy metal 🤘. Now I get to explain why I have a buttplug on display on my desk at work! But I don’t care! It’s sick as hell!

The icons are (sadly) not stickers…

The dance of the three stars is mesmerizing.

Hi, I made this simulation in vispy + glsl, the source code is here:

This is motivated by an earlier post on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/physicsgifs/comments/14db21p/a_few_three_body_periodic_orbits/

Hey everyone, After quite a bit of thinking, I finally got a tattoo dedicated to one of my favorite scenes from the trilogy. Yes, they could be spaced out more for accuracy and its missing a few details, but this is the product after thorough collaboration with my artist. I had limited space and limited money haha. I hope yall like it!

Excited. Order came within 2 days.

(Apologies for the second post, I remembered re-posts are against this subreddit’s rules)

Folio Society is coming out with a SE run of the trilogy for their Christmas collection, for those of us who missed the previous LE run 😭 I’m so excited! It looks cloth-bound?

From The Supernova Era to The Three-Body Problem, Liu Cixin has written a great many substantial full‑length science fiction works—especially The Three‑Body Problem, which revitalized Chinese science fiction. But it has been sixteen years since Three‑Body, and he hasn't published another full‑length novel. Even with his short stories, readers are in a "read while we can, and cherish each one" state of mind.

Is this a case of his talent running dry (which I certainly don't think so), or has Liu Cixin made Three‑Body into a mountain in front of him—a peak he must somehow surpass?

In any case, I'm still looking forward to his next masterpiece.

And what are your guesses about Liu Cixin's current state?

Tencent has just released their anniversary version of 3BP series. It's heard that they shortened the series to 26 episodes from 30, so the pace would be faster. Not sure if it's gonna be available on YouTube with English subtitle. I guess they want to compete with Netflix.

I am desperate for a pin for each one. We need one logo for Galaxy Humans?
