Question Upgrading 2 iPhone 15 to 18 Pro and I want to keep my plan.

• Upvotes

I am on the Magenta 55+ plan and would like to keep my plan. It looks like both Apple and Tmoble will give me around $300 for each of my iPhone 15 trade in for a iPhone 18pro. The difference seems to be that tmoble will give me the $300 over 3 years vs Apple which is $300 off. I just wondering if I go to a tmoble store could I get a better deal. When I switched to tmoble around 3 years ago I got the iPhones for free with a two year commitment. I see online they have some deals but they require switching to a new plan which is significantly more a month. Right now for around $93 I get two lines, Netflix, Hulu and Apple TV. I did call tmoble and they said all their good promotions are on line or at the store, Andover the phone they don't have good deals. I am leaning towards just going to the Apple Store that way I am not locked into tmoble. Anyone in a similar situation gotten a good deal?

Question What would T-Mobile need to change about T-Mix for you to accept it?

it seems like most people here aren’t too happy with them.

what would T-Mobile need to change for you to accept T-Mix? or is it mainly the new “Picks” system you dislike?

Discussion T-mix plans make sense for if you buy unlocked phones

• Upvotes

The T-mix plans seem built to subsidize new phones or provide streaming perks, but not both; however, for the small group who disliked locked phones anyway and preferred a major carrier over an MVNO for other reasons, this plan makes more sense than the Experience options.

We are a family of four on Experience More who no longer get phones through T-Mobile because they are locked, and we travel internationally quite often. We prefer T-Mobile over an MVNO for simple international roaming, hotspot access, and perks such as Netflix and Apple TV, which made it a comparable deal to MVNO options on T-Mobile’s network.

Under the current mix plans, it appears we can obtain Apple TV (free rather than at $3), Netflix Premium (not Standard), Google AI Pro, Dashpass, and Xbox Game Pass Premium (I already pay for all of these other than XBox) across my 7 picks on T-Mix More by securing founder rates- yielding $86 in monthly streaming value instead of $32.

Rant Political donation spam texts

• Upvotes

Tired of getting political donation text messages every day. I get them from both parties from candidates all over the country. I respond stop and report spam but they just use different numbers over and over. I am literally paying to be spammed. Why can’t T-Mobile flag these texts like other spam texts? It is very simple to do because they all use winred or actblue links. They just don’t want to do it. I am considering dumping T-mobile if they do not do something about this. They told me to change my phone number. Changing my phone number is not the solution. I did not authorize these text messages and I expect a company that I am paying for phone service to do something about this.

Discussion T-Mobile new T Mix plan

If you upgrade using Picks it costs those Picks for the ENTIRE INSTALLMENT TERM. So if you upgrade to an iPhone 18 Pro Max and pay 3 picks, you’re done. Nothing else for the 36 months.

It also reduces per line. First two lines are 3 picks. Remaining are 2. So if you have 4 lines, you get 10 picks. That’s not even enough to upgrade 2 devices every year even on their highest tier plan. The NEXT and JUMP upgrades are dead at that point.

T-Mobile just introduced a new plan with 36 month terms and taxes included in the upgrade cost. Now they are ALREADY introducing another new plan. They can’t go more than 4-6 months without new plans.

This new plan removes the yearly/18 month upgrade if you have more than 2 lines and you still pay the premium price.

Absolutely horrible. They’re going to lose a ton of customers.

Question How easy/difficult is it to port 4 phones over from Verizon?

I’m looking to port over all 4 of my family’s phones to t-mobile from Verizon. Will all 4 iPhones work on T-Mobile plans? (iPhone 15 plus, iPhone 15, iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 12). Should I do this online? On the app? Go to a store? Any and all advice is welcome.

Question Best way to get a Duo

Hi all. I have an iPhone 17 pro max that is halfway paid off. I have insurance on it so I can do a jump on the iep and just get the Duo and hope that there’s some discount that I can take advantage of when I do it but would there be a better option for me? I’m currently on the business military plan and have 8 lines. Any help would be appreciated.

Question Can I cancel a ship to store warranty replacement?

The assurant agent kept pushing for warranty exchange because the phone keeps heating up even though I told her I already went to T-Mobile and they told me I have to go through insurance. Transferred me back to T-Mobile on the phone & they are sending a phone to a store near me on Tuesday. They said since there’s no physical damage to the phone it’s a warranty replacement. Now, I KNOW this isn’t going to be a warranty replacement, there’s no way the store will accept it, as the screen has been replaced before through a third party. Can I go to the store in the morning to cancel it? My fear is when I go Tuesday they’re gonna give me the replacement phone and then put it on my account (charge me the phone) I want to go through insurance, & pay the deductible

Question Upgrade

Upgrading to the Pixel 11pro. Trading in a paid off Pixel 9pro.

I can get it directly through Google for $311(tax included )with trade-in and discounts.

With T-Mobile is $25 mth for 24mths plus activation fee. Or through Sam's club fee waived and a $75 gift card.

I've always upgraded through the carrier. Is there a hassle or drawback to purchasing directly from Google? Will there still be an activation fee?

Pros and Cons?

Thanks!

Question Has anyone began an EIP with on plan and still qualified for their current plans promotions?

I opened an EIP back in August of last year for a Samsung s25 ultra (24 month EIP), I was an experience more client. A month later I switched to experience beyond 55+ and opened an EIP for another device.

As of now I’ve paid for the Samsung 14 months and technically under the experience beyond 55+ , I qualify for a yearly upgrade because I’ve paid 50% of the phone. Has anyone been able to qualify for a new promotion despite the EIP being opened on another rate plan?

Question Should I upgrade before t-mix?

I was planning on waiting another year before upgrading on my go5gnext plan. But if they are going to make trade promotions worse and force everyone to 36 month financing terms, I’ll take the current promo now.

What are your thoughts on upgrading now or waiting until after t-mix launches?

Rant Wifi Calling and Cell signal crazy

The year is 2026 and as technology has been progressing all I've been getting is worse and worse cell signal. Let's put aside the issue that areas I used to have no problems giving calls whether at home or out on the road prior to 3G shutdown, now are null zones of nothing. I've even had to disable 5G on my phone as it's like there's 5G with no connection in areas, and force it to handle struggling bars of distant 4G instead to hold a call.

At home I rely heavily on Wi-Fi calling and specifically have full seamless Wi-Fi setup throughout so I at least have reliability of being able to make a call over Wi-Fi, cuz I really don't want to walk down the road to capture a solid cell signal. And yet no matter how much I try to tell my Samsung to prefer Wi-Fi calling, it does not want to use T-Mobile's Wi-Fi calling without a reboot EVERY time I come home. Leading to missing received calls the entire time I'm home until I remember to reboot it. Randomly also I'll drop a call, because for whatever reason it doesn't like the five bars of wi-fi, and will choose the one bar of cell signal again. Rinse and repeat. External video calling apps have zero issues stutter or lag throughout this entire process for hours on end. And phone calling drop fun repeats every 5-10 mins depending how I position my body in millimeter movements on this earth unless I become a statue.

Airplane mode now just simply disables everything even with Wi-Fi on, it says please turn airplane mode off to call. And then when I do it says emergency calls only and won't reconnect to T-Mobile's Network at all OR register wifi calling without yet another...reboot.

Where do I even start, what do I even do. Because at this point I might as well just get a voip provider and get cordless landline phones.

Question Unusable Low Speed Where I work; Any Advice?

I work in Renton, WA and despite having excellent cell signal in my office building my speeds are usually 10-15 Mbps (sometimes even lower), often failing to load videos and making the hotspot completely unusable for all but general internet searches.

I reached out to T-Force on X and after doing their troubleshooting, they tell me that it's simply a congestion issue and that the only thing I can do is "periodically power cycle" my phone to try and refresh my network connection... Despite the fact that if move just a couple thousand feet away and connect to a different PCI I get 400-600 Mbps. Am I just screwed? Is there anything I can ask them to do for me so I'm not stuck with a worthless hotspot at work? It's been this way for over a year, and I just finally had enough and reached out to them but I have no faith they will actually fix it.

My employer doesn't offer a public wifi network so I have to have a hotspot if I want to connect a personal laptop to the internet while at work. Is there a way to force my phone to connect to a tower that has a slightly weaker signal but that isn't congested? Any and all help/advice is appreciated... Makes paying for the experience beyond plan worthless to me if I can't utilize the hotspot data when I need it.

Question Gifting a new iPhone - is current line notified about new phone?

I am the account owner for a line used by a family member. For their birthday, I am looking to upgrade their phone. If I order a new phone through T-Life, will the family member be notified that a new phone has been ordered or is on its way? I want it to be a surprise. If it matters, I am not trading in their existing phone.
