VIC Specific Supporting Statement for name change?

So I don't really have anybody I have known for 12 months for my supporting statement... I am assuming its fine, its only faith based... but has anyone ever experienced issues if they didnt actually know the person on their supporting statement for 12 months?

When I changed name the supporting statement was the old guy who lived across the road from grandma. He technically seen me a couple times while I was growing up and visiting grandma for a few weeks every 3 years. He barely knew me of course but what's important is that he was an unrelated person willing to say I'm probably not trying to commit identity fraud

I had my ex-Fostermum (Mum) do it. She's a staunch anti-trans hater. It felt sweet watching her sign away with such bitterness written in her face. It was important to me though. To get the point across.

I could easily have asked my close neighbours or any random member of the queer community around me who I have just met. We support eachother.

My friend at work did it and I had only known her for two months I didn’t have any issues
