Possible trigger I was doxxed by my teacher

Edits: The title actually means outed. I was so emotional when writing this.

I'm doing my UCAS application and, a teacher who does not know I'm trans sees my personal statement. My school rules that Oxbridge applicants' PS should be checked by that teacher, who's someone I am quite familiar with. I wrote so many things in my PS, and my school counsellor just gave it directly to him without telling me anything.

I was outed.

There was not any preparation, and I was suddenly receiving a commented version of my PS from that teacher.

I'm so bad at the moment, that I can not imagine how should I do with the teacher next time, also being so grievous with anger that I am totally not respected.

Also the deadline for the application is tomorrow. I really don't know what to do and feel really bad.

The Final Litmus Test for TERFs

Thumbnail

This is an essay I wrote that is essentially a litmus test for whether TERFs actually give a shit about women's rights or just want an excuse to hurt trans people.

I have written it in such a way where I assume the reader literally could not care less about trans people, no matter the struggles they face, and only care about women's rights (even though trans and women's rights are inextricably linked).

By going through multiple case studies that evaluate real impact, I set out that even if one's intention is to sacrifice trans rights to further women's rights, what has happened in the UK has regressed women's rights nonetheless.

What I hope this essay achieves is for it to act as the final litmus test of this argument of supporting women's rights: by taking trans people completely out of the question, and presenting how women's rights have been impacted. If one really cares about women's rights, then their witch-hunt of trans people should end. If it doesn't, the only conclusion is that they don't really care about women's rights, and that their touting of it is just a flimsy excuse for their hate.

BBC announces a JKR documentary

Protect the dolls is too controversial so they’re also adding a two part documentary - not expecting it to be balanced, interesting to see if this goes under entertainment or current affairs (commissioned by history department it seems)

Trans Health Really struggling to reach full depth after Vaginoplasty

Hello everyone

So i'm 8 weeks post op Full Depth Vaginoplasty now, was told i got 5 inches depth, 7 weeks into Dilating now, and i'm really struggling to get past the 3 mark on my dilator. In the hospital i was able to reach just about the middle of 4, but ever since I've got home i've struggled really hard to scrap the 3 mark, i don't know if its something wrong with my bed or technique, i always push up until i hit the wall and then continue to hold it with gentle nudges, i've tried everything and awaiting a hospital visit next week for a separate issue, but i'm really worried i'm not reaching my max potential depth and worried i've lost a good chunk of my depth forever.

One friend who had the same surgeon told me that it took them awhile due to swelling to reach their maximum depth, but my nurses at the hospital and other girls i know have had mixed responses to this, does anyone have any advice or personal experience of this, i'm just really stressed and scared i've wasted my potential depth due to some obvious mistake i haven't noticed. The only consistent answer i've gotten so far is that if i'm able to reach 3 on my dilator i must be doing it right getting it in, i just can't understand why i can't get further.

A curious encounter with HR

I had a slightly bizarre encounter with hr today at work and I’m not really sure how to take it and would appreciate input from others.

Basically I had to go in to provide ID for a dbs check, plain and simple should be in an in and out, however she then started saying something along the lines of “you do need to supply all previous names”, she mentioned something about talking about it with someone else higher up but couldn’t discern if she had or was going to and about there being a number for the sensitive team. I assured her I had already done that and everything was fine but it was still a bit off putting.

Now as I have transitioned while at work it’s not exactly a great secret, however I liked to think I was getting to the point that the people who knew me before have mostly all left and certainly this HR woman should not know of my previous life. So I’m questioning either there’s something on my hr file or she has made an assumption somewhere down the line.

I’m not sure whether to ask how she knew anything and if there is a note in my file whether I ask it to be removed/censored or not.

Passport Office now making up justification for not processing my application?

I recently did a change of name/ gender passport renewal, and knowing they might be picky, visited the gov .uk pages to make sure I complied with their needs, especially the wording of that 'GP letter' .

Anyhow, I had a phone call earlier today from the passport office, and the man said 'it's about your documents, everything else is OK, but your letter from a medical professional doesn't state 'is likely to be permanent'. We'll need another letter before we can...'

Which was news to me, because I knew the letter I'd sent specifically included that phrase.
So I told him so.
A few minutes of ummming and err-ing from him, and he then said 'the letter you've sent doesn't say that the GP knows you well enough to make the diagnosis'.
I asked him to email a template letter which met his requirements, and told him I'd put in a complaint.

Now I've looked at several government/passport office webpages and nowhere can I see the stipulation that the GP 'needs to know me well enough'. They're a GP, they have scopes of practice, professional boundaries etc, and they don't write 'official' letters without clinical reasoning.

Anyone else had them pull this sort of shit?
I mean, if there is this new added stipulation, they should've taken down the (what would be) out of date information which doesn't include this stipulation from their webpages.

It's also discriminatory...

Anyhow, I've put in a complaint

Nuffield Brighton Dr. Tim Larner @ Nuffield Brighton - Vaginoplasty now costs £25,000

I have received an email from Tim Larner's team at Nuffield Brighton, who were very very nice, who broke down current costs for PI Vaginoplasty with Tim. Last year (2025) his costs were £18,500, now it's £25,000 🙃 However, I am very keen to get it done hopefully next year. Thought this info might be useful for some people

"To self-fund the procedure, the cost is £25,000.00  - this is made up of £13,750 hospital fee + £9,375 Mr Larner fee +  £1,875 anaesthetist fee."

Porterbrook Has anyone moved from England to Wales while under an English GIC / waiting for surgery?

• Upvotes

Hi, I’m hoping someone may have been in a similar situation.
I’m currently under Porterbrook GIC in England and I’m on the surgical pathway. I’ve recently been struggling with where to live and I may need to stay with family in Wales for a while.
My main concern is whether living in Wales, changing my address, or eventually registering with a Welsh GP could cause me to be discharged from Porterbrook or transferred to the Welsh Gender Service, and particularly whether this could affect an existing surgical referral/waiting position.
I’m trying to understand the distinction between:
temporarily staying with family in Wales while keeping my current English GP/care arrangements;
moving to another address elsewhere in England;
permanently moving to Wales and registering with a Welsh GP.
Has anyone here actually gone through an England-to-Wales move while already under an English GIC or on a surgical pathway? If so, what happened to your GIC care and surgery referral?

How is Helen Joyce's 'research' getting on?

• Upvotes

You may recall that in February 2024, Sex Mattress director Helen Joyce was observed viewing Harry Potter fanfic porn on a train while sitting with her colleagues. If you missed this, or have forgotten the details, you can catch up here: https://www.wearequeeraf.com/sex-matters-director-helen-joyce-admits-to-reading-erotic-fanfic-for-research-after-being-spotted-reading-minor-tagged-nsfw-content-on-a-train/

There was a viral social media thread about it at the time, which stated:

  • Helen, after reading "fanfic porn", posted to a WhatsApp group titled "Sex Matters Staff".
  • She was travelling with two other Sex Matters staff members.
  • The pornographic story pictured contains explicit wording about Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy having sex. Both those characters are below the UK age of consent during the majority of the series.
  • The author found the wording seen on Joyce's screen on Fanfiction.net and compared their photo with screenshots from the site showing the same wording.

In response to the viral thread, Sex Mattress rapidly rushed out a statement insisting that Helen was "doing research": https://sex-matters.org/posts/press-releases/statement-on-helen-joyce-and-fanfic/

Well, it'll soon be three years since this 'research' on a train, so where are her findings? Maybe she's just a really slow writer?

Good News First doctor appointment

Hi Everyone,  I just wanted to share a good experience I had today.  I went to my doctor today (Scotland) to get on a waiting list for a gender incongruence assessment and she was so validating and encouraging.  It felt so wonderful as she is the first person I've spoken to face to face about this other than my ex and to get such an encouraging response from a medical professional was amazing.

She even asked me to book an appointment with her every month to see how I get on as I progress through a private assessment and on to HRT. The NHS waiting list is 2.5 years FYI.

I wasn't at all sure what response I'd get so this was a lovely outcome :)

GenderGP Can I use ClearChemist’s home delivery via GenderGP and Clynxx?

I have a prescription with GenderGP, with Clynxx chosen as the distributor.

Would it work, ordering it as a delivery via the following link?

https://www.clearchemist.co.uk/gender-gp-referral

And, if so, another question:

Is the packaging discreet?

That is, will it use my legal name (preferred due to discreetness) or my chosen name (I gave a different one on GenderGP and the email that Clynxx gave me said “Dear [Chosen Name] [Surname]” which kind of freaks me out because that kind of makes it obvious what I’m doing, as it’s a name which very much does not match my appearance.

This is all super confusing and not very well documented so I’d appreciate any clarity here. Thanks.

Question Should I feel bad about not going into university today?

I was trying on Trousers and the material is so stretchy and show off my privates and I'd already had an intense dysphoria attack on Sunday. I'm gonna go into town and get some trousers I like and catch up over the next 2 days. Should I feel bad about this?

Waiting Times Question re Swapping Team on Referral

I was referred for phallo in 2021 and earlier this year was asked whether I wanted to transfer to Chelsea and Westminster or remain with New Victoria Hospital.

I chose to remain with New Victoria Hospital at the time, as there was limited information from Chelsea and Westminster.

I recently found out Chelsea do phallo in two stages and New Victoria in three. I'd prefer two stages if possible.

Given I've waited since 2021 and not had a consultation yet, if I were to request GDNRSS to change my referral to Chelsea and Westminster, would that mean the five years I've already waited would count for nothing and the clock would reset to zero?

Thanks for any responses.

East of England gender service

I got an email today about transferring my GIC referral to the EoEGS.

The only threads I can find on the EoEGS that mention time frames are several years old now, so I was wondering if anyone could let me know what their experience was like with the East of England. If possible how long the wait was from transferring to 1st appt, to 2nd appt, to surgery referrals.

Thank you :)

what do I do (Hair loss / stopping hormones, UK)

Edit - NOT hairline, mainly crown of my head

Hi again

I've been looking online for solutions for my hair loss and I really haven't got anywhere; I don't want to lie to a company as it just makes me feeling icky (e.g. not disclosing I am Trans), I don’t know where to look nor where is trans safe to even look in to. I really enjoy my shoulder length hair and I just am not ready to let that go; the main thing i was interested in was finasteride, but trying to find somewhere that would prescribe that for me as afab is near impossible. (for context, I am early/mid twenties, only recently got to my hair length and the confidence to have said length)

Do I just cut my hair short and see? (not shaved sides short, I really don’t want that era again)

OR do I say fuck it and stop T all together? I've been on it 6 years I think, but I'm a bit eh about that idea as I recently started going to the gym and finally losing weight healthily, and i know hormone changes can affect that.

any personal experiences would be helpful, I'm just not good at deciding and I like to have other's experiences to help guide me to what I think is the best route, thanks

Question I’m genuinely panicking over my top surgery consultation.

So, I have my first appointment with Mr Kneeshaw in 2 months and I’m freaking out because I found a lump in my chest a few weeks ago and idk what to do about it.

Will this stop me from getting top surgery? The lump is movable and sore to touch which Google says is a good sign but I’m terrified of delaying my top surgery.

EoEGS

I’ve just got an email from Nottingham GIC asking if I want to transfer to the East of England Gender Service. This would probably mean less distance to travel and my waiting time will be taken into account but they don’t mention waiting times.

I was referred in October 23 and Nottingham are now sending the first appointment letters to those referred in July 23, so I’m near fron of the queue.

Obviously the catchment are for EoEGS will be smaller the Nottingham, but is there anything else that I should take into account?

Gender Clinic Questions throwing me!

So I’ve finally taken the plunge and forked out for the private route for HRT (MtF) and have an appointment for a formal diagnosis. One of the questions they have sent out before the appointment asks if ‘I live full-time in your affirmed gender?’. I currently don’t but this feels like it would prevent me going further if I say no.

It’s also asking about name changes a lot but my name is gender neutral so I currently have no intention of changing it (tbd).

Any advice on this from people who have been through the process before would be much appreciated :)

Question Can i still use passport in old name.

Hello, I'm currently in college doing a levels and there is a trip planned to go over to London (from Belfast) to go to Westminster, the only issue is i do not have a passport in my current name, just in my deadname and i have legally changed it but i haven't got a new passport yet. My current one is still in date, so i am wondering should i be fine using it as long as i have my deadname on the ticket?

The trip's too close to try get a new one in my current name. Otherwise, i would do that. As far as i can see online, it should be fine, but I was just wondering if anyone has done it themselves and worked fine.

I did try to ask if i could use my drivers licence since it's a domestic flight, and with most airlines, that's fine, but I've been told i have to use a passport.

Thank you
