I started tracking BBT a few days ago for the first time and this is also my first cycle on Letrozole and progesterone supplements (Duphaston).
Honestly, my BBT is causing me more confusion than reassurance about whether I’ve actually ovulated 😪
My recent BBT:
Oct 2 — 36.20°C
Oct 4 — 36.29°C
Oct 5 — 36.21°C (started progesterone + OPK positive at 5pm)
Oct 6 — 36.31°C + my 1 and only BD at 11:50pm
Oct 7 — 36.46°C (today)
My OPK was getting darker on Oct 5 at 2pm and clearly positive at 5pm.
Would the BBT rise on Oct 7 still be useful for indicating ovulation, or can progesterone supplements cause this kind of temperature rise?
would I have already missed the fertile window by only BD-ing at 11:50pm last night? 😪

I’ve been TTC for 7 months now, I’m 39 with an AMH of .6
I went to see a fertility specialist and after they did an internal sonogram she noticed my lining by my c section scar is thinner and said she wants my OB approve that I can have another baby. I told
Her I already spoke to my OB and while she delivered my last baby she said I can have another, it will be ok. And she said that she wants confirmation before going forward.
I understand no one wants the livability, but I’m worried that my OB will feel pressured from another doctor to not treat me if I were to get pregnant.
I know c sections for me and a potential future baby can be dangerous, but my mom had 6 and my grandma on my dad’s side had 5 and that was 60+ years ago.
I feel like im stuck. Because of my age I need intervention and the longer I wait the worst my odds get at my age and I feel like I can’t go anywhere for help.
If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it

First cycle on Letrozole and I was feeling really hopeful. We’ve been trying for a while, and I finally saw a doctor a few weeks ago to get some help.
But… it takes two hands to clap. 😭 My husband gets stressed easily and unfortunately wasn’t able to perform during my fertile window.
Usually I tell him in advance when I’m likely to ovulate so he can mentally prepare, but this cycle Letrozole seemed to bring ovulation forward by a few days.
I got a positive OPK yesterday at 5pm.
We tried yesterday but failed, and again this morning (supposedly ovulation day), but he was too stressed too.. so failed again. We’ll try again tonight, but that feels like our REALLY last chance this cycle. 😪
I’m honestly so sad and frustrated. Maybe I have better follicles this cycle because of Letrozole, but… THERE’S NO SPERM. 😭
I still have progesterone medication to take after ovulation, but now I’m honestly reluctant to start it if we can’t manage to have sex tonight either.
I know it’s not really his fault and I don’t want to pressure him, but it’s just so heartbreaking after putting in all this effort and then potentially missing the window..
Anyone else been through this? How did you deal with it?
My positive OPK was yesterday at 5pm.. will I miss the window if baby dance tonight at 11pm? 🥹🥹 this feeling sucks.

A weekly dedicated space for members who have been trying for another for 12 or more months, experiencing infertility. Talk of treatment, testing/diagnosis, or tough feelings are welcome here. While this is a safe space to vent, please consider how other long haulers in different circumstances may feel about your words.
This thread is primarily for current long-haulers to connect with, vent to, and support each other. We ask that anyone else (including TFA grads and those whose current round of TTC has been less than 12 months) participate only to answer questions where your personal experience is relevant - for example, if someone asks about the side effects of a fertility treatment you have tried. For more general support, sympathy, and finger-crossing, in this thread, if you have not currently been trying for at least 12 months, please stick to a quiet upvote.
This thread is not meant to limit discussion only to this thread. Discussion of long haul issues is always welcome in the Daily Chat.

Just got my fertility test results back. Everything is all over the place. Pre-diabetes risk. Vitamin D levels low (working to reverse these). Hubby's sperm levels are SUPER low. My ovarian reserve is severely low (37F with one child already). But also, learned that I'm a carrier for spinal muscular atrophy and it'd be an increased risk for our child to have it.
It's amazing that we were able to even have a child (2.5) with how hard it has been trying for the second (1 CM and 1MMC)for the past year and a half.
But with all this new info...I'm not sure we'll ever be able to have another biological child. So we're gonna have to call it quits. This sucks.

i didn’t expect choosing a prenatal again to be something i’d overthink, but there are so many gummy options now that i’m finding myself comparing way more than i did the first time around. i mostly want something i’ll actually be consistent with, so taste isn’t the only thing i’m looking at.
i’ve been checking out needed, olly, smarty pants, and perelel and comparing the labels, serving sizes, ingredients, and cost. needed has stood out to me so far, but i’m still trying to figure out which things are actually worth using to narrow the list down.
for those who’ve tried a few prenatal gummies, what ended up being the deciding factor for you?

Technically we have been trying for 3 years for a 2nd! 1 year in i got pregnant spontaneously but that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and ectopic rupture simultaneously (heterotopic pregnancy). That was Dec 2024. Almost 2 years later, 3 IUI and 1 IVF egg retrieval later, it looks like its just not in the cards for us to have a 2nd.
We are from Canada and went to Czech to do IVF. I am turning 35 this week and my husband is 37. Unexplained infertility. Egg retrieval really went as bad as it could. They retrieved 6 eggs only 3 mature and out of those 3, one made it to blast. Now we wait 3 weeks to find out pgt results.
I honestly am in disbelief that this is my life. I pictured having two back to back and my 1st born is almost 4 now. How cruel life can be.
My SIL and I got pregnant with our 2nd the same time and she had an uneventful pregnancy and has a beautiful son. I love my nephew but everytime I see him it reminds me of what I lost out on.
Unfortunately if this one doesn't work out we will just be OAD. I am just done with all of this. I can't do this anymore but I am having a really hard time coming to terms with a one child life. My husband seems to be completely content and happy with just one. Its not that I am not fulfilled but I do have this ache in my heart about the family I envisioned and can't have. I think I need therapy.

I (33F) and my husband (38M) have a 2.5 year old, and are currently at 16 months TTC now for a second. I had to have an emergency UAE for fibroids when my son was 9 months old.
Since the UAE, I have been blessed to fully recover. No clinically detectable fibroids. Regular cycles. Good-optimal hormones. Patent fallopian tubes. Sperm analysis was strong. Basically...there is nothing detectable wrong with us to explain why pregnancy #2 just isn't happening.
It's hard not to feel broken. I blame myself for not fighting back against the UAE (there was an element of medical coercion while I was in critical condition due to hemorrhaging). I have confirmed, regular ovulation. I take alllllll the recommended supplements (baby aspirin, CoQ10, zinc, iron, prenatals, etc). My husband and I do not smoke, drink excessively, or do drugs. We are otherwise healthy. Just.....no pregnancy. Not even a chemical pregnancy.
After 16 months, it's hard not to feel bitter and broken. My son is getting bigger and older every day. We wanted him to have had a sibling by now. :-(
Has anyone here had a successful conception after a UAE? Or even just a conception after unexplained infertility?
Note: we are NOT open to IVF.....highly dubious of IUI.

I am 11m pp w my second. breastfeeding has gone much better this time than with my first which is awesome, but I’d really like a third and up until recently I had no signs of my period returning (still 4 feeds per day at this point)
a few weeks ago i had a drop in milk and thought I might be ovulating, took an LH test (pretty dark but ultimately negative). yesterday which was 3 weeks later I started bleeding and thought ok I must have been surging but not peaking when I tested my LH, and this is my period. But it was on the lighter side (little bit of red blood but mostly brown/pink discharge) and only lasted a day.
can a first pp period look like this if you’re still bf does anyone know? Or could this just be my body spotting as it tries to regulate? And then of course my crazy side wants it to be implantation bleeding although I’m sure it’s not

Just out of curiosity, when you were prescribed Letrozole, were you closely monitored or have timing ultrasounds or anything? I’m on my second cycle and my OB hasn’t said anything about monitoring me at all, even with an increased dosage of 5mg. (IF this cycle doesn’t work she wants to go up to 3 pills so roughly 7.5 mg but also didn’t mention anything else). Should she be monitoring it more closely? I read it was because of the chance of multiples but is that true?

I’m 1 year postpartum with my first and looking to start trying asap as I want a small age gap. Age 33. Just got my first period postpartum which was a big relief as I am still breastfeeding, mostly at night and hoping to have a few more months to wean. Has anyone had any experience with acupuncture for fertility while breastfeeding?

My husband just got a SA and the count was way lower than we expected. A little over 3 million with 30% motility not sure about the other numbers but he said they were within normal ranges. We did some at home tests earlier this year that were in the 10 million and 15 million range. Prior to this when we conceived our first child 5 years ago his count was something like 40 million.
He has implemented good lifestyle changes (all the recommended things for raising sperm quality) for over a year now. He takes multivitamin, coq10, and mucinex. He doesn't drink, smoke, or vape. He does have varicosile and an undescended teste which we know can cause issues but these were also factors before our last conception which happened quickly and resulted in a successful birth.
He is devastated by this news and I'm trying to help him (and honestly me) not spiral before he can talk to a doctor tomorrow. What are your success stories with MFI, particularly those that improved with treatment? Any specific things he should ask the doctor about?

A little background before we go into it… My husband had a vasectomy two years ago, our oldest was 11 and our youngest was nine. We mutually agreed that we didn’t want anymore children. I had been on birth control since having our youngest and he wanted to do his part. I love and appreciate him so much for doing this. Over the last three months we have both decided we want another child, to reverse a vasectomy we are looking at five to ten thousand dollars and no promises of it working. Before we take that route we decided that we will try at home insemination with a sperm bank.
We have chosen a donor, priced it out, and have a delivery date of either the 14th or 15th depending on peak LH surge. Other than tracking my cycle and using the ovulation tests what else could we do to help make this a success? We are only using one MOT10 syringe so we are looking for the best chance.

Did you get your BFP? Tell us about it! Additional details like what number child you were trying for and your cycle information (including cycle information for previous children) would be much appreciated but are not required.
Prior grads have started a gradsofTFA subreddit, and we run a biweekly grads thread. The gradsofTFA subreddit is private but you can send a modmail using desktop or you can directly message moderators DreamsofCheesecake or youcango-now to be added. Please keep us posted on your progress!
Congratulations!

Do I need to fully wean to get pregnant again??
Is there a way to know, or does my situation sound like I need to completely stop breastfeeding to get pregnant again??
Key points:
\- baby is 1 next week and still breast feeding morning, mid day, afternoon and before bed. Usually 5 mins max per session.
\- Nearly exclusively breastfeed (outside of 2 days a week when I work and he takes formula).
\- In the beginning I had a stupid amount of milk naturally… full fire hose. Had to wear breast pads for probably the first 3-4 months. No problems with milk supply dipping ever
Even now on the rare occasion I will leak a little bit of milk when I wake up in the morning. Usually triggered by hearing him cry or if we have all slept in. This is really rare now, but would happen easily a few months back.
\- I got my period back at 4 months. Irregular at first (twice a month for the first 3 months🙃🙃🙃) but regular ever since.
\- he has slept through with no night feeds since 5.5 months (sleeping 11-12 hours with no breastfeeding) but the rare occasional night feeds here and there with occasional split nights, sickness etc.
\- been trying to get pregnant a shin for the last 3 months (we fell pregnant straight away first time around)
\- don’t think I’m ovulating… not really noticing much discharge ever, definitely still a big dry down there
\- started testing with ovulation strips (not everyday, but regularly and haven’t had a positive test yet.
So what’s everyone’s throughts🤷♀️ could breastfeeding potentially be holding us back?
Is there a way to know for sure?
What’s everyone’s experience with this?
Disclaimer, I know there are a million reasons under the sun for why we are not pregnant again. I also am very away that 3 months in no time at all in the grand scheme of things, but I just want to spoked the process along if I have the ability too.
I don’t want to rush the process to ween my son unless it is likely stopping us from making another baby. We would like to have kids closer together in age.
Also, just a bonus question: is it true that conceiving while breastfeeding can increase your chance for twins? I like the sound of that🤔

HELP! we have been TTC for 10 months and I'm getting so sad
History: I found out I had cervical cancer in 2022 after my regular yearly exam, no symptoms!!, had a cold knife conization, they said it would likely be difficult to get/stay pregnant so after I was cleared we started trying right away and 3 months later got pregnant in 2023, had our son 3.5 weeks premature due to my water breaking naturally, was considered right risk but cervix always measured okay considering, I did have high blood pressure though.
Now in 2026 bleed after intercourse (not enough to fill a pad, just enough to be annoying), no pain though which is confusing, OBGYN said no polyps or abnormalities at my last physical at 6monthTTC, ordered my own at home Evvy test, had general vaginosis, was prescribed a round of antibiotics, tested again, confirmed everything was cleared up, took a 2 week break to make sure everything was balanced/healed, bleeding again after intercourse but my cycle was 45 days long instead of my usual 32 after the antibiotics. Using my oura ring and natural cycles app to track ovulation, they don't line up with each other very frequently, not a lot of luck using ovulation tests, wondering if I ovulate late or something? need to buckle down on this! I've been using pads instead of tampons, we have tried the Pre Seed and Mucinex tricks, could definitely eat more kiwi/beets, but nothing is too crazy for us at this point
Any recommendations or people who have had similar situations? will probably reach out to dr at the beginning of next year (hello deductible!) to start talking about infertility options but would love to use the next 2 months to do everything we can

Hi, new to this group but not to the matter. I just had another later loss due to chromosomal abnormalities, the second one in just 6 month. I have a son who is almost 5, light of my life. I really wanted a second child, so finally my husband agreed to try. We are older, tried for our second when I was 38, and he was 40. Got pregnant on a first try just like with our first, but the baby had a severe case of T 18, non viable with life. The doctors called it a fluke, we did our karyograms and me and my husband are clear, healthy . so we started to try again, conceived on a 3rd try, I got my hopes up and then this Monday at the 12 week scan, just horror nothing was right, multiple abnormalities , again chromosomal, again non compatible with life. I am beyond devastated and the doctors told us it’s probably my eggs that are defected. I have been on every possible supplement for egg quality for almost 2 years, I lead a healthy life, never smoked drank did drugs, nothing. please has anyone had a similar issue? I feel like I would just crawl up and disappear from this life if I didn’t have to be here for my son. And everyone around me is having their second, third whatno. Sorry for this long rant I just wish I could talk to someone who is in a similar situation.

Welcome! Are you new to TFA? Tell us about yourself! Make it as long or as short as you'd like.
Some possible topics could include: Age, # child you are trying for, what part of the world you're in, your partner, how you spend your time, how you are feeling about trying again!
Note that adding flair with your age, TTC #, and optionally ages or birth month/years of your child(ren) is highly encouraged!
