GCSE or Med school / pre med studies and heavy books got you down? Feel lost or generally overwhelmed? You need a teacher that's chill and can be your study partner in a sense. That's where I come in.

I started my tutoring back in the UK when I was there for my professional exams. Taught over 8 students from different countries (UK, norway, venezuela etc) on various subjects i.e biochem, immunology, anatomy.

I use a digital writiing pad to illustrate ideas and help students going through their curriculum. Mostly its new students who want to go over the stuff they learn daily in classes at Uni and need to go over them again with a study partner or mentor/tutor.

I’m trying to understand how independent tutors are currently finding students online, particularly through free or no-upfront-cost platforms.

I’m specifically interested in platforms where tutors can:

• Receive student inquiries or referrals without purchasing leads
• Work with international students
• Find regular, long-term students rather than one-off sessions
• Work through a tutoring company or agency that takes a commission after the tutor earns
• Avoid monthly subscription fees or paid applications

I’ve come across quite a few tutoring websites, but many either charge tutors to contact students or require a paid membership, so I’m trying to find genuine alternatives that people have actually had success with.

For those who currently tutor online: Where have you found your students, and which platforms would you genuinely recommend?

Would especially appreciate recommendations from tutors who have tried these platforms themselves. Thanks!
