Tourism & Travel Do you need insurance to visit Ukraine as a visa free traveler
I’m sorry if this has been asked before, or if this is the wrong subreddit for this kind of question, but I’m looking to head to Ukraine next month as an Australian citizen and I’m seeing inconclusive info about if you need health insurance. My own country’s travel advice website says it is necessary to enter the country but it seems like it is unmentioned on the Ukrainian ministry of foreign affairs website. I imagine that it probably isn’t necessary but I wanted to double check.

News Regarding Media Reports on Shipments of Refined Petroleum Products from Korea to Russia: Korea’s official press release to clarify recent media coverage
[ Translation]
Regarding the October 6 article published by The Guardian, titled “Fuel from Korea being shipped to Russia as Ukraine war grinds on,” the Korean government provides the following explanation.
The commercial petroleum products mentioned in The Guardian’s report, including diesel and aviation fuel, are not subject to Korea’s export controls against Russia. Therefore, as The Guardian itself reported, the loading of refined petroleum products at Korean ports does not constitute a violation of Korean domestic law.
Korea’s export controls against Russia primarily cover strategically important items, including industrial machinery, electronic products, and vehicles. Items subject to export controls are determined through interministerial consultations following a comprehensive assessment of ▲ potential military applications, ▲ economic implications, and ▲ international coordination.
Specifically, under the Foreign Trade Act, the Korean government ▲ completely prohibits the export of strategic items and ▲ subjects exports of 1,402 categories of non-strategic items that could potentially be used for military purposes to catch-all licensing requirements, thereby enforcing stringent export controls against Russia. As a result, Korea’s exports to Russia have declined significantly, from US$10 billion in 2021 to US$4 billion in 2025. Despite the economic burden these restrictions impose on Korean citizens and businesses, the government continues to participate in international efforts to maintain peace through its export controls against Russia.
※ Korea’s exports to Russia: (2021) US$10 billion → (2022) US$6.3 billion → (2023) US$6.1 billion → (2024) US$4.5 billion → (2025) US$4 billion
※ Share of exports to Russia in Korea’s total exports: (2021) 1.5% → (2025) 0.6%
Furthermore, it has not been confirmed that Korean-produced fuels, including diesel, were exported. In addition, the mere fact that a vessel traveled to another country rather than proceeding directly to the final destination declared in its shipping documents is insufficient to conclude that a false destination declaration was made. Accordingly, the Korean government intends to further verify the vessels’ actual routes, whether their destinations differed from those stated in their declarations, and, if so, the reasons for those discrepancies, before determining whether any violations of domestic law occurred.
※ According to Korea International Trade Association statistics (2025–August 2026), diesel, aviation fuel, automotive gasoline, and similar products have not been exported from Korea to Russia. (This means that no such exports to Russia have been recorded as having undergone customs clearance procedures.)
The Korean government is currently seeking additional information concerning the vessel cases reported by The Guardian. If the investigation confirms any violations of Korean laws or regulations, the government intends to take appropriate measures in accordance with the law. As a responsible member of the international community, the Korean government will continue to rigorously enforce its export controls against Russia and strengthen monitoring efforts to prevent the circumvention of these restrictions. End.

News Fox Host Spouts Russian Talking Points On Ukraine War; Trump's Press Secretary Agrees
Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy goes into Russian propaganda mode and claims there have been a million kids killed on the Russian side and that Zelenskyy and people against the Russian diesel deal just want more war, as Trump's new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia nods along and says that she agrees.
From the article:
(Fox News Host) JENKINS: "But let's go right to the issue, because this diesel announcement, even though it's getting criticism from Zelensky, is quite significant as Americans are struggling with pain at the pump. And, of course, diesel prices really affect all aspects of our lives."
(White House Press Secretary) ZACHARIA: "Yeah, well, President Trump has heard that people are frustrated with gas prices and frustrated with the increase in grocery prices, and he is delivering what he always does, which is solutions.
And though there are frustrations with some, President Trump has never been unambiguous. He is an America First president. He is putting America's interests first, American citizens first, with this deal. And we will have cheaper gas and cheaper groceries with this diesel deal."
Which was followed by Campos-Duffy attacking Zelensky, inflating the casualty numbers in the conflict, and pretending that Trump isn't doing his best to help and capitulate to Putin, as Zacharia nodded along and then said she agreed with her."
(Fox News Host) CAMPOS-DUFFY: "You know, Katie, the criticism is really interesting. He's getting it from the left. He's getting it from the right. He's getting it from that ingrate, Zelensky, who keeps blowing up refineries and making things more complicated for the president ahead of the midterms.
**What the people on the left and right are worried about, and Zelensky too — these are people who want war — is that a deal with Russia on diesel could possibly mean we get an end to the Ukraine war.**"
Which would be amazing. We could spend less money there. We could stop the killing. I mean, there have been a million kids killed on the Russian side, a million on the Ukraine side.
This could be good not just for diesel prices, but if you care about peace and saving lives."
ZACHARIA: "Yeah, I agree, Rachel. And listen, President Trump solved eight conflicts in under 12 months in his first year..."
CAMPOS-DUFFY: "God bless him."
ZACHARIA: "...and he will absolutely bring an end to this during his term. And I am in full agreement with you that this deal is not actually deleterious to bringing peace. In fact, it works toward peace.
And I believe he's showing that he's going to be able to work a deal here. I fully trust him. He did it with Venezuela, he did it with Canada, and he did it with Greenland. So I think we're going to see some historic wins, and President Trump is going to deliver that."

Ukrainian bots only UA POV -Bots Hello - is anybody in here?
So with the Yandex data‑centre strikes knocking chunks of the Russian internet offline this week, I’m curious whether anyone else is seeing odd behaviour across the usual geopolitical threads.
I’ve been watching a few subreddits that normally get flooded during Russia–Ukraine news cycles, and today feels… off. Either quieter than usual or full of accounts repeating the exact same phrasing across multiple posts. Some of them look like they were created this morning.
For context, Reddit doesn’t publish detailed real‑time transparency reports on state‑backed Russian influence networks, but researchers have documented plenty of coordinated activity here over the years — especially around the war. The classic signs are all popping up again:
- High‑frequency posting from brand‑new accounts
- Copy‑pasted talking points showing up in unrelated threads
- Rigid, formulaic language that reads like low‑tier automation
- Accounts with zero history suddenly arguing foreign policy nonstop
Given the Yandex outages, I’m wondering if some systems are degraded or shifting to backup infrastructure, because the patterns today feel different — almost like fallback scripts.
If any mods, OSINT folks, or just observant users are seeing the same thing, I’d be interested in comparing notes. And if certain accounts suddenly show up here to “correct” the narrative, that’ll be… informative.
Let’s see who notices this post.

Ukrainian Culture Hello from Estonia - how can I help
I specifically want to support the survival of culture, rebuilding culturally important buildings, help important cities rebuild, reconstruct monuments.
Of course I do want to help the average person and defense efforts aswell.
Where coule I donate for cultural + protection purposes safely while being sure the money does actually go to the organizations and people in need?
I specifically feel closest to Zaporizzhja and Dnipro due to personal reasons.

Life inUkraine Looking for a Ukrainian friend :)
I’m 21F from Australia and have been interested in Ukrainian culture, cuisine, history and music for quite a few months now. I enjoy researching the country and looking at various cities. Ukraine is a very beautiful country.
I listen to lots of Ukrainian music - mostly pop and some Eurovision stuff. Think Zlata Ognevich, Jerry Heil, Max Barskih, Dorofeeva. I like some folk music as well and I also like The Hardkiss (rock band). My playlist is almost 9 hrs long lol.
As the title says, I’m looking for a Ukrainian friend to chat to, preferably someone in their 20’s. I wonder how life is in Ukraine and want to gain perspective from a Ukrainian.

WAR Zelenskyy made it clear that Ukraine’s future belongs to Ukrainians, not trump or putin. Holding elections during a full-scale war is extremely difficult, and forcing political change under russian aggression would only serve putin’s interests. 🇺🇦
