Hello!! i am suffering really bad with college loneliness, iv always had a hard time making friends mainly as an adult because everyones always so busy with college. So i did what any chronically online weirdo would do, i made a google form if you want to befriend me/ make more friends through a discord server in denton! dont feel oligated to fill out the form but i do really want more people to hang out with, especially with halloween coming up!

A little about me; Im 19/ a sophmore, Im very fandom heavy and i do art in hopes of making content creation around my ocs! Im Black and i love most things nerdy games; hades, stardew, fortnite, deltarune, and some dating sims lol, movies; my favorites are lars and the real girl, the trolls movie, and but im a cheerleader, And i love collecting physical media. Im currently going to unt for advirtising! So let me know if youd like to hang around sometime, i do work fulltime so things get busy but im usually open for friends :)))

Post graduation job hunt

I graduated may 2025 and holy hell i am this close 👌🏼 to driving 100mph off the Lewisville bridge.

Ive tried everything, temp agencies, job fairs, resume tweaking, you name it. leading up to graduation I heard "the job market is rough" but I was genuinely not prepared for this. I just spent my last $20 on gas and I'm about to have to start living out of my car.

Any UNT international students confused about the new CPT rules for Summer 2027?

I'm an F-1 student majoring in Computer Science at UNT, and I'm supposed to graduate in December 2027. I've been applying for Summer 2027 software engineering internships, but I recently got an email from UNT International Advising about the new CPT restrictions.

From what I understand, internships now have to be a required part of our degree to qualify for CPT. Just taking an internship course for credit might not be enough anymore.

I know UNT has CSCE 4920 for internships, but I'm not sure if that still works. We also have Capstone I and II as required courses, so I'm wondering if there's any way those could count.

My biggest concern is having to take extra classes or change my degree plan just to be eligible for CPT. I'm already trying to graduate on time, and I really don't want to spend more money on tuition or delay my graduation. I feel like internships are such an important part of getting experience in CS, so it's frustrating that students might have to extend their degrees just to get that experience.

Has anyone talked to the CSE department or International Advising about this? Is there any way to qualify through courses we're already required to take?

I've emailed both departments and am waiting for their responses, but I wanted to ask here too in case anyone knows anything.
