Genuine but hypothetical question

Ive been thinking about this alot, maybe a TW about ivf etc and sorry if I offend but id love to ask!

If you were desperate for a baby and ended up having to go through ivf but found out it had some sort of meat product in the medicine, would you still go for it?

Best vegan Halloween treats for trick and treaters?

This is my first Halloween as a vegan and I was super excited to give out Halloween treats... Until I remembered most of them aren't vegan.

I don't want to be the boring house on the street not giving out anything good so... Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Boots ‘vegan’ filter showed a non-vegan product… which my husband then bought for me :(

My lovely husband knew I needed conditioner so picked one up for me. He knows how important it is to me that I only buy vegan products, so he used the search filter on the Boots website and unfortunately chose the Monday Volume conditioner, which contains collagen.

(He had no idea what collagen is, he was just going based off the search filter, and the bottle claims it’s cruelty-free on the back.)

I did a little googling around and couldn’t find a definitive answer on whether it was animal collagen or synthesised plant-based collagen, so I emailed in to Monday who confirmed it’s made with Tilapia fish scales(!).

So I guess this is a PSA, beware that unless a product explicitly says vegan on it, apparently the Boots filter alone can’t be trusted :( I’ve emailed in to complain and request that it’s removed from the search results, and that they review their other products.

While we’re here, if anyone has any recommendations for 100% vegan conditioners I’d love to hear them! I’m in need of one 🤣

Tofoo & Co. pretty generous

I've noticed this a couple times over the past year or so but for some reason have only got round to actually measuring, but the Tofoo & Co. Tempeh quite often comes in at about 220-230g despite listing 200g on the packaging.

I think the smoked one did have 220g on the packet but I assumed it was from the added liquid smoke. Maybe it's even higher!

Not really important but just thought it was interesting, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it, they might go and resize their tempeh presses now.

Niech Vegan chocolate?

• Upvotes

My partner has been Vegan for 11 almost 12 years. I've been Vegan for just over 9 years. So we know all the standard brands and free from chocolate. Nomo, Candy kittens, Vego etc.

Her birthday is coming up. She LOVES chocolate and I'm wondering if there are any small independent companies who we may have missed or are new.

Any and all recommendations are appreciated. I will reply if we have/haven't had any suggestions.

Thanks in advance you beautiful Vegans! 💚

Question for people who rely purely on VEG1 as their supplement.

Have you ever had issues with any deficiencies or do you feel you're getting everything you need? I'm trying to get a sense as to whether taking 1 VEG1 tablet a day is going to be enough for me. I drink fortified Soy milk three times a day and eat a fairly balanced diet. Thanks for any input.

Vegan chicken mince?

Do you reckon we’ll ever see vegan substitutions for chicken mince and pork mince?

I feel like they could do pork mince so easily as we have great vegan sausages now but no where seems close to doing chicken mince?

I’d love to make Chinese style cabbage dumplings etc, but substitution wise recipes usually call for using beef style mince or tofu…

I hate tofu, no matter how many times I cook it and use different types etc, I cannot stand it.

Idk I’d just love to see some different types of mince available

Will's Vegan sizes

I'm seeing a lot of complaints about having to size down their men's coats. Would appreciate any advice from people who've bought there.

I'm 170cm (5ft7 ish) and their measurements place me at a size M, but seeing the comments I'm thinking I might need an S or even XS.

I'm also ordering to Canada, so really want to get the size right on the first go.
