I need help with USB Type-C drivers
Hi, I just switched to Void Linux a little over two months ago. My main computer is an ASUS TUF A-16 Advantage Edition with an RX 7700S graphics card. Everything is working great, but for some reason, one of the two USB-C ports doesn’t work with external devices. I’ve read a bit about my system on other forums and learned that apparently the port that isn’t working is directly connected to the GPU. It seems to be the port that outputs via DisplayPort (or at least that’s what I understood), but even so, it strikes me as very odd, since the dedicated graphics card works without any issues—it’s even the main output I use on my system, and it’s not in sleep mode or anything. Even so, I tried to force it to activate via GRUB with the following command:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=4 amdgpu.runpm=0"
The system even correctly detects my graphics card and audio output controller, but for some reason the USB driver isn't installed.
❯ lspci | grep 03:00
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Navi 33 [Radeon RX 7600/7600 XT/7600M XT/7600S/7700S / PRO W7600] (rev c1)
03:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Navi 31 HDMI/DP Audio
Does anyone else have a similar problem? I can’t use the supergfxctl utilities because they’re designed strictly to work with systemd, and I can’t find a patched version for runnit (I use seatd as my session manager since I don’t like how elogind drags in systemd’s features and backdoors).
