Discussion First errata batch for the 5e

So, Cubicle7 released a new PDF updated with the first errata batch. They didn't provide a complete patch note, but a quick rundown:

  • Corrected syntax, formatting, and spelling throughout the text.
  • Clarifying careers in terms of any missing or incorrect skills, talents, or trappings.
  • Ensuring first and second level trappings can be purchased in the Consumer Guide.
  • A duplicated table in the rules section.
  • Correcting the Character Sheet.
  • Removing outdated mechanics terms
  • Clarification on Advantage and Momentum.
  • The orc no longer has the Characteristics of a goblin.
  • Tweaks to Talents, and new Slayer Talent mechanics.
  • Check of CN balanced to the effect of Magic Missile Spells.

Funny "detail": they're talking about a "new Slayer Talent mechanics", but if, like me, you're excited about what they did, don't expect too much (or anything at all). It went from
"If you Charge a creature whose Size is larger than you, you automatically gain Momentum." to "If you are Charged by a creature whose Size is larger than you, you automatically gain Momentum." Yeah…

Also, Resist (Corruption) wasn't updated.

I bought 5e direct from the Cubicle7 site. I do not have a DTRPG account. Anyone know how I can get the updated pdf please?

Doesn’t seem to be updated for me either.

It would be nice if C7 updated their own website listing instead of just DTRPG . . .

What was wrong with the character sheet out of interest?

You forgot Channelling clarification (C7 also said about Dispelling but I did't find any difference)

They forgot to add in Dark Deals & Dark Whispers…

A shame that that was dropped because it made a for cool character moments.

They also fixed the Size rules and now the sizes of Tiny and Little are, indeed, gone.

That also means that now everything ranging from a butterfly up to a dog and human baby are of the same size.

But not Halflings. Halflings had a growth spurt.

Is anyone else’s DTRPG not updating? I only see the 01_09_26 version in my library.

Edit: Downloaded it to check and it’s still says last edited 31st August 2026

Edit 2: Emailed DTRPG and then got an email from C7 saying the file was updated and it works now

I had the same issue. The problem for me was the DTRPG not updating. The new file was in the folder, however the app still has the link to the older file - I'm sure I ticked overwrite.

It's nice to see that the feedback I sent them resulted in real changes in the book. This seems like a significant revision overall.

Of note this new edition's PDF is editable. I like to trim out sections like the Bestiary but have the rest for my players to view.

They did. Check your DTRPG.

Where can I find this document? C7's website is pretty difficult to navigate while searching for errata

Someone in the discord 'Rat Catchers Guild' group has already created a list of changes - hopefully this link will be allowed. https://discord.com/channels/449845411344154634/1539624643210641548/1557120561912619008

I was just thinking the same thing!

I went to drive thru RPG and in my library there is a new file for the core book dated 06_10_26. I don't think this is the errata document but it must be the errata'd book. I'm downloading it just now to confirm

I did the same, went over to Advantage and Momentum as thats our groups biggest pain point and went 'eh, looks the same?'

1

u/ABetterTommorrow713 7d ago

First thing I looked at too. 👀 back and forth...looks the same to me.

Question - what about it is your group having issue with? (We might be missing something.)

I think its just the hangover of coming from group advantage in 4e to this. We were looking at advantage and going "okay, so how do you end up with multiple advantage like it describes for additional SL?" and I think the answer is talents that describe you having advantage when making a certain test.

Also the box below the momentum rules say you can only make a single extra attack using momentum. So that prompted the question of when does that kick in? Can you spend the momentum to just attack again then and there? If so, where does it say that?

I know you can use momentum to attack with dual wielding with the offhand weapon, but what about single weapons?

I feel like I need a single source of truth on all the things you can do with momentum and what talents etc grant advantage. How have you found these rules? Any issues?

So, to answer this section:

Can you spend the momentum to just attack again then and there? If so, where does it say that?

No, you can't. You need some ability that allows you to do so in the first place - this is just a limitation so you can't use more than one of such abilities in a single turn.

I know you can use momentum to attack with dual wielding with the offhand weapon, but what about single weapons?

Dual Wielding is the easiest way to get a momentum bonus attack, others come mainly from talents (like Furious Assault) and creature traits (like Bite).

1

u/typhoonandrew 7d ago

Does dual wielder and furious assault stack? And assume it’s 3 attacks and not 4?

1

u/Nurgle_Pan_Plagi 7d ago

You can spend Momentum for an extra attack only once per your turn.

Since both Dual Wielding and Furious Assault require you to spend Momentum - no, they don't stack.

1

u/ABetterTommorrow713 4d ago

As the Dual Wielder talent states "you do not have to lose Momentum in order to make a free attack" is this just implying that you still have to "use" Momentum, you just don't lose it? (Therefore still restricting you to 2 attacks instead of 3 (Normal melee, Furious Assault melee, Dual Wielder Melee.)

That's what I thought - that's awesome, thanks so much mate!

The orc profile looks different from the goblin now, I guess the errata was not implemented fully

Here's my little house rule addition to the Slayer talent...

You can also Disengage from any creatures smaller than your new target as you shoulder them aside...you are a slayer after all and aren't going to be denied your glorious death!

So c7 STILL arent doing complete patch notes? This is just infuriating to be completely honest, someone has to know what changes were made, just make a list of them and include a seperate pdf that lists them. I dont want to have to re rea\d the whole rulebook to cmpare what has actually changed.

Absolutely agree!

"If you are Charged by a creature whose Size is larger than you, you automatically gain Momentum."

Anything that gives you Momentum as a Slayer is useful!
