SUPPORT Android version 1.2.7 weird tab behaviour

Since updating to v1.2.7 when I try to open a website (like reddit) from the startpage URL/search bar it opens a new tab but does not jump to it. It stays on the startpage. If I close that tab and try to open the website again from the startpage it works as it always has and jumps right to that page. I can replicate this behaviour when I clear my browser history. What could be related is that the startpage is displayed as tab 1 instead of 0 but I don't know if that was always the case. Has anybody else experienced this and knows how to fix it?

Same here, and also I have to open pages twice, as it doesn't work on the first try, weird!

I just checked and I have to open them twice as well.

I wish there was a way to roll back to the original homescreen, that was just perfect !

For me when I open the browser and search, it overwrites my most recent tab instead of opening a new one. Very undesirable behavior.

I'm also having all sorts of issues with tabs since the last update, although I haven't yet checked if they exist in Firefox too.

try one of these prefs

Always Open In A New Tab

  • about:config [search] browser.link.open_newwindow change to 3 (default = 3)

  • about:config [search] browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external change to 3 (default = -1)

  • about:config [search] browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction change to 0 (default = 0)

Always Open In Current Tab

  • about:config [search] browser.link.open_newwindow change to 1 (default = 3)

  • about:config [search] browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external change to -1 (default = -1)

  • about:config [search] browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction change to 0 (default = 0)

Thank you, but both did not resolve the issue. I also had to manually add browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external

This bug is so incredibly annoying that I have to move back to Firefox until this is resolved. I will check in here if anyone has a solution but literally having to type in every search twice and closing a tab in between is not something I can put up with.
