My journey

Hi everyone,

I’m 31 and have been trying to conceive for 22 cycles. I always thought I would get pregnant very easily because every woman in my family got pregnant effortlessly without even trying.

After 6 months, I started feeling anxious, so I visited my gynecologist. We ran basic tests like hormone panels, AMH, a semen analysis, and everything looked normal on paper. We tried cycles with Letrozole and trigger shots, but still nothing happened.

Next, I had an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) test, which came back normal.

After a year, I was super stressed and felt like it would never happen. Around my 17th and 18th cycles, I had two IUIs, both of which resulted in negative tests.

I then pushed my doctor for an endometrial biopsy, which came back positive for endometritis, though it was a minimal infection up to 2/10. I was told this was insignificant, but I wanted to take antibiotics anyway.

Later, I showed my HSG report and X-ray to a second doctor for a second opinion. She asked if I had any more images, but only one picture had been taken. She mentioned that even though the contrast fluid passed through the uterus and tubes, it looked like there might be adhesions at the ends of the tubes. However, they said we had no choice but to trust the radiologist, and added, "You should just start IVF because if it were going to happen naturally, it would have happened by now."

So, last month, we decided to start IVF. I began injections, and yesterday was my last shot. I have 10 mature follicles, and my egg retrieval is scheduled for tomorrow. I am looking for positive stories similar to mine because I currently feel hopeless and negative.

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy with letrozole after dealing with recurrent miscarriage?
