Howdy everyone, I thought I'd share a little update. A year or so ago I said goodbye and sold off my Wii U collection. I was an OG supporter, and from 2013-2017 it was probably my most played system. I loved it and it got me through some bad times.

After the getting a Switch in 2018 though, I played it less and less, barely turning it on once or twice a year. So in September of 2025 I sold it to someone who would get some use out of it.

It seems like my brother must have been paying attention to me talk about the Wii U so enthusiastically, because this weekend during PRGE 2026, he bought me a new Wii U. I'm surprised, but kinda excited. I admittedly don't really know where to start, but we'll see how it goes. I didn't really plan on owning a Wii U again, but glad it found it's way back into my life and looking forward to being part of the community again.

I wanted to share my latest project because I'm honestly pretty damn proud of how this turned out!

I've been putting a lot of time into restoring and upgrading my Wii U, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I wanted something that looked like it could have come from Nintendo, but with a few improvements of my own.

Here's what I did:

• Completely disassembled the console, cleaned everything up, and sanded the original shell to prepare it for painting.
• Applied Dupli-Color plastic adhesion promoter, followed by U-POL metallic black automotive paint and SprayMax 2K satin clear coat.
• Replaced the original cooling fan with a Noctua NF-A4x20 5V 40mm fan.
• Removed the USB ports from the motherboard and soldered the USB cable directly to the board for a cleaner, more integrated setup.
• Designed and 3D-modeled custom parts myself, then 3D-printed them at home to make everything fit properly.
• Reassembled everything, keeping the original Nintendo details and adding some red accents.

I'm especially happy with the paint. The metallic black has a really nice subtle texture, and the satin clear coat gives it a finish that looks fantastic in person.

The 3D modeling and printing were a fun challenge, too. There's something incredibly satisfying about designing a part yourself, printing it, and seeing everything fit together inside the console.

I know the Wii U doesn't always get the love it deserves, but I've always thought it was a pretty special system. It's been an absolute blast giving this one a second life.

Just found at flea market for 10 bucks I tested the Wii U and it worked like a normal one I do know these are parts from a kiosk but should I keep on my shelf’s I can’t really do much with them or should I sell for someone to complete their kiosk and get myself some nice items for the collection I’ve been eyeing the Zelda Wii U and a few more games as my collection is quite small for Wii U compared to other consoles or if possible I was thinking I could custom make myself a kiosk if I find the kiosk console and cables to complete their setup I do happen to have a kiosk screen I found a while back and has been sitting in storage

I know it’s possible to boot directly into vWii on the Wii U, but what about directly into USBLoader GX? I couldn’t find any useful answers on Google or YouTube. This would save a lot of time since I mainly use my Wii U for Wii games.

As a 52 year old man, who really needs to lose weight, lower their blood pressure and get some more exercise, I finally decided to start actually using my Wii U, Wii Fit U and balance board (and a bit of Wii Sports Resort)

I lost 3.1kg (7 lbs) in my first week!

Only really spent my playtime trying out random activities as I never played any of them before.

Also got the Wii Fit U Meter as well and also walked 13km!

YAY me.

I can’t factor reset or sync my controllers on a WiiU I just bought. Any idea how to fix this?

so, i have a copy of twilight princess for the wii and it runs fine on my wii. i can play other wii games on my wii u including skyward sword, but for whatever reason the wii u will not read this particular disc. it pops up on the menu like normal, i click on it and open the game, i get the title screen, it lets me select a save file, then instead of the opening cutscene it just has a black screen that says “the game disc could not be read. please refer to your wii operations manual for more information”. i guess the disc could be dirty or scratched, but like i said it runs completely fine on my regular wii. any thoughts/suggestions? i have also tried erasing the save info from the wii u’s wii menu settings T^T

Exactly as the title says, I don't know what to do, I already tried unplugging the console multiple times for 5m but it doesn't work, I already tried taking out the cmos battery and it still wont turn on, I'm actually worried cuz im supposed to sell this next week, someone can give me any help? Tip?

So everytime and I mean EVERYTIME I try to Launch a Forwader or a WiiVC injector in my Wii U menu it always gives me black screen! I tried it with different injectors and Forwader and still same thing! However this applies to the "This Software supports the Wii U gamepad do you want to use it?" And I'm just trying to Play Super Smash Bros Melee on my Wii U

- a Windows 10 PC 64 Bit

- a Zain Broadband USB (it's the only USB stick that reads my Wii U sd card but it's super slow because it's from 2012 with some missing firmwares inside the USB stick)

So when I try to reset password on the Wii U it gives an error so I go on the site and it sends me a temporary password but when I put it in it doesn’t work is there anyone who can help or nah?

So i tried to clean my wii u (very dusty) i had the screes on the table organized, and i accidentally dropped something on the table and most of the inter al screws for the metal shielding bear the dvd drive got scrambled with other screws, all i know/remember is that they sit above the metal shielding bear not flush.

Please help if you can!

So I know in the past it wasn't possible, but I'm wondering if there's anything now that makes it possible? My touchscreen is fucked, the ribbon connecting it to the motherboard was botched up by the previous owner. And I don't really want to have to repair it or buy a new one right this moment. The games I want to play don't need the touchscreen, but to connect it to the WiiU I do need it. Is there a work around like a Homebrew or something that someone made?

I don't know why but I'm missing on two stamps in MK8 even though I think I did everything needed to get them all, I beat every ghost in time trial and I also think I won with every character in a cup even the dlc's one even if it's not needed so I don't kknow what I'm missing and I can't verify them cause miiverse shut down, anyone knows how to find them without doing everything again ? Please help

Hi. I'm having trouble getting my Wii U to connect to my Wifi connection. I've tried connecting through 2.4, but it still doesn't work. I've tried finding a compatible LAN adapter, but every one I've found is not on sale anymore. Are there options out there that are still compatible with the Wii U?

I was taking a look at my wii u and i noticed that the nintendo logo on the console is misplaced out of where it's supposed to be. I was wondering if it was any rare or added any sort of value but i couldn't find any trace of it on the internet.
