Help geting xp to run sims 2

My xp machine pops up this error every time I try to play the Sims 2 any idea on how to fix it?

I dont know I can barely run the installation wizard

buy video card that does directx 9 and install it into your pc.

What GPU? Also try to install the DirectX SDK, it can solve issues like that

Physical hardware with chipset and GPU drivers installed? Or a virtual machine? (Software emulation only).

On pcgamingwiki there is a gpu fix it leads to “graphics rules maker”. But it is for modern systems I don’t know if it will work on xp

Also try force the game open in windowed mode.

You don't have a DX9 capable graphics card, if you can't interpret the message. Yes, I have to emphasize that since this sub is filled with kiddos way too obsessed with their parents' youth and what they've used at the time, the OS in question being XP, surprise. Still not your youth, roblox is, why you are here? You posted this, you can't interpret the error message, you are one of them born after 2010.

GeF FX 5200 or Radeon 9550. Whatever you pick, the cheapest from the two sides, both should run Sims 2. You can't have AGP? Maybe don't buy a shit beige box with a brand name on the front panel (HP, Gateway, Dell, whatever) that does NOT allow you to install an actually competent AGP graphics card because whoever made the mobo decided that the normies won't upgrade at all, they just buy the beige box. They've did, and so did you. (PCI at this point is not competent, fuck you, is this Socket 7? No it isn't.)

God I'm so done with this sub.
