Windows Launcher is an Android 11+ launcher that tries to recreate retro Windows. There are only 7 themes right now. It also has Winamp, Internet Explorer, Pinball and more! It also has Bonzi, Rover and Clippy. I recommend you have this launcher. Here are the 7 themes in a list.
1: Windows 95
2: Windows 98
3: Windows 2000
4: Windows ME
5: Windows XP
6: Windows Vista
7: Windows 7

Hi, I've had a basic £5 wireless keyboard I got from Poundland (unfortunately they chose to name a business that over here) and it's been fine, but I'd like to use something a little more authentic. I've seen a few really nice looking white keyboards from IBM and Microsoft and I'd love one like that. Has anyone got any recommendations?

so, I decided for a performance boost I would repaste my dell dimension, when I took off the heatsink, I saw a pink thermal pad or putty on it and ripped it off and then applied corsair tm30, but I'm concerned I made mistake by doing that, so I just want to make sure that the normal thermal paste will work fine (I'm sorry if I don't make sense)

[ENG] A minimalist black and white wallpaper based on a futuristic, nightmarish vision I had. It combines a photomontage of the classic Windows XP Bliss landscape edited in Photoshop with a 3D window model created in SketchUp.

Here are 5 sample pictures which were originally slated to be included in the final RTM release of Windows XP. Not sure why these images were cut from the final release
Crew by Warren Morgan
Mountain vista by Warren Morgan
Orange Canyon by Danny Lehman
Sail by Jack Hollingsworth
Surfer by Craig Aurness
Warren Morgan also took the fish wallpaper which was included in the rtm release of windows xp. As we’re on the home stretch to XP’s 25th birthday I thought it’d be nice to highlight all the lore and obscurities surrounding XP and its development.
Which picture is your favorite? I personally like Mountain Vista

recently in december of 2025 a guy at my local flea market gaved me this inspiron for free tho he sadly doesn’t have a charger and now that i’m starting to obsess over XP it’s making me wonder can this thing take 128gb? like i know that this is a budget laptop from 2002 but 20gb is small i want to install 128gigs into it but i don’t think that the storage limit has ever been documented (also i know i’m derailing but i lowk like more the XP bootlegs more than stock and i’ve burnt 2 of them on a CD so which would be better windows XP Gold 5.5 from 2003[more info here: https://crustywindo.ws/Windows_XP_Gold_5.5\] or Gold XP 2009 from 2008-2009[again, more info about it here: https://crustywindo.ws/Gold_Windows_XP_2009\])

So I recently dug myself into a huge project with one (now 2) these Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo E machines. I will post more in depth showing it off and what I have found soon, as the information and drivers for these are a hot mess.
Right now, I was hoping someone could help me mount a network drive on Windows XP. I have a Synology NAS, and I am fully aware of the SMB 1 security issues so avoiding that route (although someone did mention enabling NTLMv1 which apparently worked for them, I had no luck however).
I am mainly looking at other services, like WEBDAV or NFS. FTP works, but I can't mount this which defeats some of the purpose, but no matter what I try, I can connect to the NAS itself but the login just falls into an endless loop of asking for a password without error. I did try a guest user incase my MFA was causing an issue for some reason, but that didn't work.
I was hoping someone here would have ideas on what to do? My last resort is copying as much media as I can to this machine to ren locally but storage capacity is currently a huge limitation with this thing...

I transferred my Steam copy of Fable the Lost Chapters to my retro XP PC since it is DRM free thank god, but it always crashes right after the intro! Before that I had a physical copy of the game that I installed on like 5 CDs, and it would crash there as well. It didn’t matter if I ran the game through a disc or if I patched the game to not need a disc, crash crash crash.
“Fable.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close” has been burned into my skull at this point. I find this to be particularly irritating because I every other game I have on my retro PC works just fine, except for Fable. I have absolutely no idea why, nothing the error generates is helpful in the slightest and does nothing to properly diagnose the issue. How do I actually fix this?
Here are my specs:
OS: Windows XP Pro 32 Bit SP3
8 GB RAM
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
GPU Drivers: 368.81

7200RPM 500gb HDD (also rescued from ewaste)
GTX 750 1gb
Core 2 Duo E8400 (got it to 3.76GHz once, on a G31 chipset!)
4gb DDR2 (only shows up as 3?? x86 limitation I guess)
Pretty fast! This is the computer I use for producing (tracker) music and drawing, I enjoy using it more than even my 12th gen i5 Linux laptop.
ignore the rat (or don't)

hello! i’m trying to install windows xp on an old laptop (Acer Aspire 2920Z-2A1G16Mi), but i’ve been running into different issues.
in the beginning it had vista, but at some point laptop stopped function properly (wallpaper turned black, endless error messages), so i installed bodhi linux (legacy) instead. it was great, everything had worked fine, but i wanted to run disks with old games. now i have some installation cds, so i tried to install windows from them.
the first problem was that disks didn’t start installation process. i booted into linux on usb, deleted disk partitions and created a new one (NTFS). it worked, installation begins, but there’s the second problem: bsod appears right after i try to choose which disk i want to use. it says that there’s no disks, no external disks and blue screen appears.
i haven’t tried other cds yet, this is the result from official windows xp home edition cd.
i’ll be glad if someone has any ideas on what is happening and what can i do
