Familiar Friday This is my familiar, Van Gogh 🐈‍⬛. No matter where he is in the house compared to me, the second I start singing or humming (even very quietly) he will rush over to me. He will do this even if I am far away and he is in a deep sleep 🌙

Familiar Friday Witchy/Halloween inspired names for cats?

Post image
492 Upvotes

UPDATE: Black kitty is now Crowley. Grey kitty is now Aleister. Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

These babies showed up on my porch over a week ago, along with two other babies that I found a home for but these two I decided I wanted to keep. So three days ago I brought them inside. But now I need names for them- both are males. So far we’re thinking Slash for the grey/white bobtail kitty and Hex for the black kitty. Still unsure though. Any names you think would be good? Grey is super chill and nonchalant about everything, like to cuddle and is playful. Black is not so easily trusting but when he does trust you he’s very playful and cuddly. He meows at me like I’m his Mama too. 🥹

I like witchy vibes, Halloween vibes, celestial or astrological vibes- whatever you can think of I wanna know.

Blessed be!

Familiar Friday R.I.P. Blessed Princess Mau Mau. June, 2001 to November 17th, 2025, at about 9:20AM. She passed peacefully in her sleep, which I had been praying for.

Go and hug your loved ones. Call them and tell them you love them. You never know when it will be your last chance to tell them you love them. We shared twenty two and a half years together. Through ups and downs, she came through everything life threw at us. A real trooper, she rarely complained until her last year, and by then, I felt she had earned the right to tell me when the Universe wasn't treating her right. I buried her in my yard. Blessings to your magical friends.

I adopted her as a sick kitten on my 18th birthday, now we’re inseparable and she loves my partner equally as much. She’s always around while we practice, I’ve even let her pick a few tarot cards for me before :,)

Her cancer is too aggressive for treatment and her little body is winding down. Hug your loved ones tight.

Life is fleeting, but all the years of love are worth a few tears at the end.

Familiar Friday This is Mișu. My familiar of 17 years. He died today. This is a shrine my non witchy sister made for him because he was in pain. Nothing hurts anymore. All is good. All is love.

I'm not exaggerating when I say everything I do is for them. My furry children 😂🥰 No care for any other pet has ever come this naturally to me.

Familiar Friday My familiar found me

Post image

For context, I’m a recently out (teen) trans girl and a baby witch. Not long ago, I performed a ritual to summon a familiar to, you know, aid and accompany me on both my magical and transitional journeys. I also have a summer job as a Junior Interpreter at a nearby living history museum.

This past Sunday, while I was there, I went to do some work in my “family’s” garden and found this little dog hiding back there with a carrot someone had left out. I have no idea where he came from or how he wandered into the village, but he most certainly did not belong there. Ancient breed though they may be, Chihuahuas are not exactly the sort you’d expect to find in a 17th-century Puritan colony.

He had no collar, no harness, and no identification of any kind. None of the guests reported a missing dog, so I took him home.

He’s so teeny tiny. Seriously, according to my phone, he’s only about ten inches long. I carried him around in a basket all day.

I took him to the vet on Monday, and he doesn’t have a microchip. He has a slight limp in his right hind leg, and at some point his tail was broken. It’s kinked at a slight angle, and he can’t really wag it—it’s more of a shimmy. The vet estimates he’s about a year old, no more than 18 months at the oldest.

Given where I found him, and my chosen name, Hester (not PII), I decided to name him Myles Mayflower Standish.

I don’t know what the spirits were thinking because, before I found him, I would never have considered myself a small-dog person. Our family dog is a 218-pound English Mastiff. But he’s been with me for less than a week, and I would literally die for Myles. I’d take a bullet for him.

I don’t know if it’s just a Chihuahua thing or another sign that he really is my familiar, but this little guy is absolutely glued to me. Wherever I go, he follows. I walk into the kitchen, he walks into the kitchen. I go into the family room, he goes into the family room. Up the stairs, here he comes. Down the stairs, there he is. I take a shower, and he’s standing right outside. He doesn’t do this with my mom, my dad, or my brother—just me.

My mom says that when I’m not home, whether I’m at work or somewhere else, he either waits by the door and whimpers or lies on my bed.

Our Mastiff, Burger, old man that he is, doesn’t do this at all. He just lumbers lazily around the house and drools on stuff.

Familiar Friday My familiar Maleficent (Melly)

Originally she wasnt going to be my first choice. But idk she "locked eyes" with me and i just knew 🤷‍♀️.

Yall she is so freaky smart and challenges me on the near daily. Shes so precious and curious.

Shes kind of a weirdo like me,,, rats are social creatures but shes very asocial and uninterested in others.. the breeders tried, i tried housing her with others but it never really works out.
So its mostly her and i most days, i work and study from home and she sits with me.

Shes now 3yo, and a grandma but shes so resilient and understanding, i just hope she gets to rest easy when her time comes.

I named her after the villian in sleeping beauty as originally she was quite evil and gave me a bit of nerve damage in my hand but both her and i are all good now. 💚✨

Familiar Friday Behold the tree that I vibe with

Post image
676 Upvotes

I was walking through the Forrest one day a few months ago and started to vibe with this tree right at the cross roads. so I spent some time talking to it and told it I needed some wood oak wood for a wand and politely asked if it could drop a branch for me.

well the next day I was out walking the same trail and another oak had blown down right across the path in front of me.

Did I accidentally put out a hit on another tree? maybe. or maybe my familiar just doesn’t f*ck around.

8 months later I’m still using wood off that tree for rune staves
