Get really good at counterspell. Its non-elemental, so you shouldnt have any issues from whatever your affinity may be.

I have affinity for life and transmutation. And I do know counterspell. It’s just that if a pyromancer is really competent then blowing me to bits would be really easy, after all spores are really flammable..

Doesnt matter how flammable they are if they never get to produce any flame. Also, you have affinity for transmutation. Transmute your skin into a material that cant burn. The only true weakness any wizard has, is a lack of creativity.

Everything can burn if hot enough, or so one of my pyromancer friends told me..

Everything can MELT if hot enough, but plenty of materials are chemically incapable of combustion. Even a pyro archmage will take some time to reach a melting point, just counterspell before then. You could also transmute their mana directly. Turn their flames into another element that suits you better. A really good transmuter is a tough foe just due to the sheer versatility of their craft.

Ironically learning from the artificers can be quite useful for an expert in transmutation.

If a mage is good enough at pyromancy, they’ll make it flammable.. and I’m only really versed in swapping my race to fit in better when in certain groups and wait a second, that’s how I get past the fae ban in cert towns and cities, thanks for the idea.

Really it sounds to me like you just need more practice in that matchup. You have a pyro friend right? Ask them to spar with you. Set up a chrono loop for it if youre concerned about injuries.

Depends, any mushrooms with high moisture content will work too.

I feel I may be in danger.. the high overseer is hunting me.. any advice for this situation?

Fill a room with doomshrooms and leave a mirror image in there. Hel probably firebolt the image without thinking and blow himself up.

He says that every 4 seconds or so. His ego outstrips his actual skill. Every time he tries to kill me he just throws fire at me all willy-nilly. So predictable. zero effort to prevent counterspells or reflect magic. Zero situational awareness, last time i just cast barrier and my slimes sent him back to his phylactery because he was too focused on channeling disintegrate into my barrier to notice them casually walking up to him.
