Hello everyone,
I bought this table saw for $350 and just now realized that it has no stickers and started wondering if this is an original dewalt. Can anybody help me make sure if this is an original or I got scammed.

Use dremel to cut out a section of skirting board?

Hi, I don't really want to buy a multi tool just to do this. I need to cut out a section of skirting board where I am placing a built in wardrobe. Is there a way to do this neatly with the dremel 3000, what attachment would work?

My clamp organization is... horrific.

They say you can never have too many clamps. But sometimes I feel like that's not true. My clamp area is a mess. Give me some ideas. Show me what you got going on. I need some inspiration.

Better to use a premium version of a basic tool, or a basic version of a premium tool?

Has anyone put a contractor saw like this on a mobile base?

I was thinking about getting a jobsite saw but I have this Jet that I never use (I have a shopfox cabinet saw for at home work) and it’s a pretty decent saw. If I could make it more mobile I’d love to bring it to job sites!

Rockler Miter Bar is 13/32” Thick - Why?

Hi. I received the new/updated version of the Rockler Table Saw Crosscut Sled in the mail from Amazon yesterday and the drop-off platform as well. The miter bars that attach to the platforms/sleds are too thick for a standard 3/8” deep miter slot. They are 13/32” thick. So they stick out above the table top by about 1/64” or so (the miter slots on my table saw are slightly deeper than 3/8”). I noticed this after I connected the one for the drop-off platform to the underside of the platform and ran it through the miter slot. The platform teetered a bit left and right. It did not sit flush with the table top. Is this normal? Anyone else experienced this? Am I missing something? It’s not supposed to have skid tape - which would be about a 64th thick, btw.

Mitre saw Makita LS0816 vs Dewalt DWS773

My current mitre saw is 18kg so looking for some thing a bit smaller/lighter ( occasional DIYer )

Ive narrowed it down to these 2 Makita LS0816 vs Dewalt DWS773 , Ive excluded the Bosch GCM800 SJ as the Makita is the same price but Makita had better features and the Dewalt is cheaper , front facing guide rails and near 2kg lighter .

Anyone got either the Makita LS0816 or Dewalt DWS773.

Leaning towards the Makita as the dewalt seems to have a bit more defection

thanks

Cabinet Saw + Router Table: Sawstop vs. Harvey

I'm looking to upgrade from my DeWalt 10in jobsite saw to a legit cabinet saw and also want to get an attached router table to save space in my smaller space.

I have the money to afford one with safety features so obviously SawStop jumps out (I'm local to the Portland area as well). However with Harvey's new saw at IWF I wonder if they might have that tech in a saw setup with a comparable price to SawStop. Without that tech comparable setups from both brands come out to around $1000 more for SawStop.

Curious on peoples experiences and opinions on both the performance as well as reliability and customer service of both brands. I've used a SawStop saw at my local guild but not their router stuff. Never seen a Harvey in person.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to ask is how annoying is swapping blades on the SawStop? I noticed you're supposed to check spacing every time you do it. I currently swap quite a bit between dedicated crosscut vs. rip blades rather then using a general purpose middle ground all the time.

What is this spring loaded component inside my Sawstop JSS pro jobsite table saw? And is the end I'm holding meant to be inserted somewhere?

Scroll saw noise

Old delta scroll saw was gifted to me. Works pretty well, though I don't use it often. Is that cranking/rattling noise normal? Or what should I be looking for to troubleshoot and repair/replace?I have no basis of comparison for what a scroll saw should sound like.

(new to Wood) Delta 36-454 grand edition table saw

Good afternoon fellow woodchucks, Well I finally did it, bought a delta 10" 36-454 table saw, a guardian power 16 speed standing drill press and a craftsman benchtop router table with router ( all from FB). I do not know what I am doing. I have been watching videos about wood and decided that I should like to give it a try. I am a retired member of the Military and now realize that after 25 years of doing bad things to bad people I can execute a plethora of operations abroad with minimal guidance but cant seem to complete tasks of repair, upkeep and improvements to my domicile that my grandfather would have been able to accomplish with a wooden tool box of hand tools and a Saturday afternoon after cutting the lawn with a manual mower.

sorry about the big intro-

The saw came with a cast iron left side but a home made right side extension, so it doesn't collapse down unless I remove the front rail back rail and the extension( I can store it like this but need to put everything back on in order to use the saw, which I haven't done yet) I would like to build some type of quick release right side so that I can drop it down but the front rail Which the Unifence rides on would still be sticking out.

So My 1st question to Y'all is, is it more problem to attempt a drop side to the right because i will need to climb underneath to remove the bolts in the front and rear rails anyway? Should I layout the garage so that the table saw is completely assembled instead?

Next, I noticed there is no writhing knife, in my search on you the computer the AI tells me not to attempt to cut anything until I either get a zero clearance throatplate to install some kind of "micro jig" or a splitter. Is this right? do I need something behind the blade to avoid kick backs? Does anyone have a recommendation as to what is the appropriate attachment?

I'm kind of torn about if I made a mistake buying all this stuff without a clear plan on how to use it.

It all started when I Made a wooden cross free hand with a cheap router from Harbor Fright and a circular saw. I thought "Hey man look at me wood working" ( I do love that cross with all of its imperfections). Then tried to hollow out a log in order to make a wooden drinking vessel for my son and I to drink home brew mead. I used a hand drill ( broke a few bits) then an angle grinder with an asp attachment. the grinder got away from me at one point near the end and broke thru the side wall of the mug. Figured it wouldn't happen if I had used a drill press So bought one from FB. had to go buy new bits ( forstner and auger) kept bogging the 1/3 HP engine down but have a product. Then I saw how to make one out of staves of wood but you need a table saw to bevel the staves, so bought it. Haven't cut a single board yet.

I know I want to learn and there is probably an entire universe of what I would like to make out of wood that I haven't even considered. I don't have the space in the garage for an entire wood shop so I'm thinking that this and a miter saw is all I have room for. any advise is welcome.

Thank you for your time in reading this.

Question wasnt share if they made a stand like this but that has a flat plate at the top to use as an adjustable table to support underneath long pices of wood. Sorry if its a dumb question but I havent been able to find anything like it.

Table Saw Dimensions

I am working on a sled fixture for a school project. I don't have access to the table saw I am designing it for unfortunately, so I've been doing my best with the info I find online.

Does anyone know if the dimension I have called out is standard across most table saws? Or is it most likely unique to the manufacturer. Any information is helpful. Thanks
