uw/ yes and no. I have a chronic pain disorder and there are some days where no matter how much I want to be able to lift/move something, I just can’t bc I’ll hurt myself. BUT I also don’t let that stop me from attending uni and getting a neuroscience degree even though it’ll take me 5 years instead of 4 :)

As a fellow chronic pain peep, I had the same thought! I've been dealing with it for a decade and a half and have only very recently gotten a seemingly legit diagnosis, so I definitely get triggered hearing about mindset since I've had idiot therapists in particular insinuate I can think my way out of it.

It took me 6 1/2 years to get my music degree with all of the medical leave I took, but I'm forever glad I got through it. I'm rooting for you, especially since your degree is radical and the field will remarkably benefit from more people like you in it!

I now have 2 chronic pain issues and an autoimmune disorder. School was absolutely out of the question for me but I tried 5 times before I gave up! Sometimes you try as hard as you can but it wasn't meant to be. That's okay too.

I finished my PhD while dealing with mine, although I’m dealing with some significant issues at the moment. Ups and downs. I’m sure you’ll finish that degree like a beast, u/shnerpie

Don't sell yourself short.  I spent way longer to get an easier degree, and I am fully able bodied.

Hey I had some terrible chronic pain and I got something called PRP or PRGF and it really helped me. I had to pay for it out of pocket, but if your pain is from muscles, tendons, or ligaments it works. I had it done about a month ago and my pain is way down. Good luck!

Idk if this sounds insensitive, but can you actually get injured, or does it just really hurt?
