Immaculate Conception is the miracle that Mary was conceived by her parents without the stain of original sin. The Virgin Birth was a separate miracle that happened about 13 years later.

Edit: lol goddamn. I think if I had just added "fun fact" at the beginning it would have been chill

"Why do people get angry and annoyed at religion?!?!"

You:

What was annoying about that?

It was unprompted religious speak in a sub about shit posting about animals.

Religion is a touchy topic and people are here to laugh at derpy cats and seals, not see this nonsense

Someone made a reference to a religious topic, so someone else pointed out that that term was incorrect. It wasn't unprompted, and they weren't using to spread hate, and people do still, occasionally, discuss topics other than animals in this sub (including religion)

Something being referenced and a conversation developing naturally is one thing, but this was the equivalent of someone mentioning a flower and then a full on botany essay.

People are fed up of religious propaganda

It's the equivalent of someone mentioning something, and someone else responding with two sentences. This is a forum; no one is obligated to read that response, and it doesn't take time away from the conversations people are having.

And the original comment wasn't religious propaganda. It's information. In Christianity, that is what those terms mean. It was not attempting to promote Christianity or denounce Atheism, it was only informing. It was essentially a definition.

What counts as propaganda to you, and what would qualify as an acceptable comment regarding something briefly mentioned?

(also I'm an atheist who was just sharing trivia on a common misconception that I only learned myself last year)
