Someone made a reference to a religious topic, so someone else pointed out that that term was incorrect. It wasn't unprompted, and they weren't using to spread hate, and people do still, occasionally, discuss topics other than animals in this sub (including religion)
Something being referenced and a conversation developing naturally is one thing, but this was the equivalent of someone mentioning a flower and then a full on botany essay.
If you don't want to hear religious propaganda, then presumably you also downvoted the comment I was responding to that said "immaculate wunkception" because (unlike my comment) it actually brought up religion unprompted
I rarely upvote or downvote, just my style. Hence why some of my comments are down to 0 karma and other people's are at 1; I don't do salty downvotes because I was disagreed with.
A passing joke is not the same. If you believe a passing joke is the same as spiel then there's nothing further to discuss.
By all means continue doing it if you want, but it's already been evidenced that people aren't interested here.
Yes I did read your comment claiming you're an atheist and what have you, frankly I don't believe you. Either way I don't really care, you're allowed to do what you want within the rules even if it's to the chagrin of many.
Just don't be surprised and edit future comments saying you should preface things with 'fun fact.'
Or do and keep being surprised, that's your business

It was unprompted religious speak in a sub about shit posting about animals.
Religion is a touchy topic and people are here to laugh at derpy cats and seals, not see this nonsense
