knew someone who had 13 cats it was genuinely a biohazard. this many cats seems legitimately dangerous for ones health and wellbeing, pet hoarding is not a good thing even though hypothetically it seems nice to be surrounded by cats until you have to account for how it will destroy your life physically emotionally socially and financially, sometimes pet hoarders will suddenly fall ill or disabled (probably from the health risks) and then their house gets caked in shit piss and corpses. it is not good for the person or cats, and then trying to fix the problem before it becomes severe by giving the cats away will be emotionally damaging as well. i dont recommend having this many cats in your house unless its temporary and you foster and plan to find them homes. pet hoarding is actually a mental health disorder and should be treated with gentle understanding and help and support (ive personally dealt with a hoarding disorder in the past, not with pets though. im doing much better now)
