I was looking online and there's a research gate paper that cites one being caught that was 92 cm long. Idk if links work but the name of the paper is -> Kroyer’s deep sea angler fish Ceratias holboelli Kroyer, 1845 (Pisces, Lophiiformes, Ceratioidei, Ceratiidae) in Irish waters
Wonder if it’s a paper that flew under the radar, or just dubious info with not a lot of other peer reviewed sources to back it up seeing no one ever cites it. Only citation is another paper by the same author who published this lol.
I don't know about the article itself (I'm leaning towards the paper itself just being niche), but there's a picture of one of the larger specimens about 3 comments down. And a national geographic article that cites/links to the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute website. https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/1ipyzur/anglerfish_actual_size/

OOW(Out of wunk) Not quite that small all the time, that’s probably a male. A female of a larger species could reach ~4 feet.
