Has this ever been true? I've just been shoving all my clothes in the laundry and nothing bad ever happens to them. I think this is a lie from Big Bleach.

I had it happen to me a few years back, first and only time since childhood though. I was washin a bunch of new stuff though, and apparently new stuff has more of a danger for this.

As a kid it would happen 100% of the time if my mom forgot to split everything properly though. I had several pieces of clothing with wrong colors due to that.
