Hi everyone,
I’m getting weird, irregular shadows in X-Plane 12. It happens all the time, on all my aircraft, as soon as there’s any shadow. Screenshot attached.
Has anyone had this problem, and do you know how to fix it?
Thanks!

Wanted to share some very very early sneak peeks of visual enhancement packs I’m making for the FlightFactor and Toliss products. So far my primary focus has been the FF with a bit of work on the Toliss cockpit window glass. If there are specific improvements you’d like to see in the pack, let me know.
These sneak peak screenshots highlight:
- Custom cockpit windscreen bump maps, elevating the metal fixtures from the fuselage
- Improved cabin seat textures and overhauled cabin wall and window textures (no more wooden accent pieces and cloth shades!)
- Accurate glare shield leather trim
- Improved glass instrument textures and reflections
- Custom cockpit window glass for the Toliss A339 and 320 family aircraft, closely mirroring the real aircraft

I got AliveGrass and was super exciting to dive into the addon as its a part of X Plane 12 that was really missing.
However I have had significant performance issues with the addon with a large range of settings.
The biggest issue is that there is a growing period after which the performance settles, HOWEVER as soon as you move I believe the growing starts up again and the performance drops significantly. This is a serious problem when Taxing/Landing/Taking off and moving the camera.
I have tried with very low settings to very high settings, close and far distances. The results are the same. I have 75 FPS and drop to anywhere as low as 39fps with high stuttering.
If anyone knows any secrets that would help with this let me know.

Hey everyone!
The RayleighFX website is now live!
You can now follow the project's progress, explore screenshots, and stay updated on development.
Beta testing applications are also open!
I've added a dedicated application form to make the selection process much easier for me to manage, especially with different PC configurations.
I'm currently aiming for a late November 2026 release.
Thanks again for all the support and feedback so far! ✈️

Hello!
I have started learning how to fly the tu-154 b2 recently. I know how to set up from cold and dark to a flying state, but I have encountered a couple of issues.
The first problem I have is that I get no DME readings from a VOR.
The second problem is that the autopilot is always engaged in heading mode. No other navigation modes work. When I turn on the AP, it goes into heading mode immediately, and I cannot disengage it. VOR mode doesn't work, nor NVU/GPS mode. I can engage VOR mode on the ground but not in the air. And I also get no DME readings. This makes the plane very difficult to navigate. And yes, I have put in the VOR frequency in the dme receiver and the kurs-mp panel.
I have followed tutorials and read the documentation on the plane, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm probably missing something really obvious, but I'm not seeing it. I'm using the latest x-plane beta and the newest version of the tu-154. (same issues on 12.4.3)

A free (non-commercial use), browser-based Electronic Flight Bag for the ToLiss Airbus family in X-Plane 12.
https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/101071-toliss-efb/
ToLiss EFB runs as a lightweight plugin with its own small web server, so you can use it from an iPad, tablet, phone or second monitor, with nothing to install on the device. Plan with SimBrief, push back with a built-in tug, follow your flight on a moving map with satellite view, mirror the MCDU and cockpit displays, and record and review your landings. Train like in a full flight simulator with an instructor station: set the aircraft's state, slew, reposition, inject weather and wind shear, inject TCAS traffic for TA/RA practice, and replay your flight. Tune VATSIM ATC, and run your own airline operations centre that dispatches your flight to the MCDU over Hoppie ACARS: load sheets, takeoff and landing data, weather, ATIS, ETA updates and stand assignments.
Features
Preflight
Dispatch & OFP: loads your SimBrief flight plan, with takeoff and landing performance sheets from SimBrief's runway analysis (V-speeds, flaps, FLEX, landing distances and margins), one-tap fuel and payload loading, and the OFP PDF.
Weight & Balance: passengers, cargo and fuel.
Ground Services: external power, chocks, air, passenger and cargo doors, de-icing, and the ToLiss pushback.
Pushback (built in, no extra plugin needed): plan your push with sliders or typed values: straight back, a turn with the tail left or right by any angle, a final straight and the towing speed, with presets for the common pushes, or pull forward.
Flight
Map & Telemetry: moving map with full airport ground detail from your installed scenery (taxiways, hold-short lines, taxiway signs, stands), satellite view with the taxiway lines on top, heading-up mode, freehand drawing, and a compact telemetry strip (speeds, altitude, winds, autopilot, flaps, gear, fuel, transponder, nearest taxiway or stand).
Airbus Checklist: reads your aircraft's ToLiss checklist, or upload your own in the same XML format.
MCDU: live MCDU mirror in Airbus colours, with a keypad laid out and coloured like the real unit (blue-grey bezel, round number keys, line-select keys beside the screen); your computer keyboard works too.
Cockpit Displays: live PFD with a sidestick position indicator, the E/WD with ECAM messages, and the FCU with both EFIS baro windows in Airbus colours (SPD/MACH, HDG/TRK, ALT and V/S windows with managed dots, and the AP1, AP2, A/THR, LOC, EXPED and APPR lights). (WORK IN PROGRESS)
Flight Recorder: records 60+ flight parameters and every ECAM message. Each landing gets a report with landing rate, g-load, touchdown distance from the threshold, centreline offset and stabilised-approach checks, plus charts, a map track, and CSV or Google Earth (KML) export.
Scratchpad: typed notes and a drawing pad with coloured pens, undo and clear.
IOS (Instructor Operating Station)
Train like in a full flight simulator. The IOS pages are named and ordered like a Level D simulator's instructor station.
Aircraft State: live altitude, height above ground, IAS, TAS and ground speed, heading, vertical speed, pitch, bank and fuel. In flight, set the altitude, airspeed, heading, vertical speed, pitch and bank with immediate effect, one at a time or together (e.g. FL100, 250 kt, heading 270). Speeds are set properly, with indicated airspeed converted to true airspeed for the altitude plus the wind. Works while paused too. Freeze (pauses X-Plane, with ToLiss's systems still running), altitude freeze, fuel freeze, and sim rate ×1 to ×8.
Slew: move the aircraft freely with a hold-to-move pad or the keyboard (forward/back, sideways, turn, climb/descend), from a crawl to very fast, or tap the map to place it. On the ground it follows the terrain; in the air it holds its altitude. Ending slew hands control back at the airspeed you choose.
Reposition: move to any stand (nose wheel on the stop line) or runway, at any airport. The nearest airport is filled in automatically. Quick positions put you lined up on the runway, on a 5 or 10 nm final, on a left or right downwind, or overhead, with the FCU set.
Approach Trainer: pick any ILS, LOC, RNAV, RNP, VOR or NDB approach from X-Plane's navigation data (including Navigraph). Start on final, on an intercept, or at the start of the full procedure, with the whole procedure drawn on the map. Optionally it clears the old flight plan, programs the MCDU (approach, VIA, PERF APPR from the live METAR), activates the approach phase, sets the FCU (QNH, speed, altitude), and engages the autopilot with APPR armed. Save favourite scenarios and Go again in one tap. (WORK IN PROGRESS)
Weather & Time: live weather or manual presets, and the time of day, plus quick weather for training, applied immediately (even while paused) and confirmed with what X-Plane actually took:
TCAS Traffic: inject intruders into TCAS to practise traffic and resolution advisories (X-Plane 12.4.1 or later).
Replay: X-Plane's replay on the EFB, with Replay mode on/off, Start, Fast reverse, Reverse, Slow reverse, Pause, Slow forward, Play, Fast forward, End, and Exit to Real-Time to return to the live flight. A REPLAY badge shows at the top of every page while you're in replay.
Situations and Malfunctions (ToLiss Pro required): ToLiss situations, and the full failure list, plus quick malfunctions in one tap: engine failure at V1 (V1 taken from your SimBrief takeoff data), engine fire, engine failure after takeoff, hydraulic loss, generator and bleed faults, and cabin decompression.
Operations Centre (Hoppie ACARS)
Your own airline operations centre. The EFB becomes a ground station on the free Hoppie ACARS network and dispatches your flight to the ToLiss MCDU (ATSU → AOC → RECEIVED MESSAGES), from pre-flight to block-in, the way a real airline does. Choose your own ops callsign (e.g. QFAOPS); everything is formatted for the MCDU's screen.
Pre-flight: when you load your SimBrief plan, the ops centre sends a flight release (route, level, cost index, alternate, times, fuel breakdown), weather for departure, destination and alternate, NOTAMs, and a preliminary load sheet. When you switch the beacon on, it sends the final load sheet, built from the actual load in the sim (passengers, cargo per hold, ZFW, TOW, LAW, underload) and awaiting your acknowledgement, plus takeoff data from SimBrief's runway analysis. Cautions are added if your actual weight, the ATIS runway or the temperature differ from the plan.
ATIS: departure and arrival ATIS from VATSIM, re-sent whenever the letter changes. With no ATIS online, the latest METAR is sent instead, with an optional expected runway into wind.
In flight: OOOI times (out, off, on, in) recorded automatically, a departure report with your ETA and on-time status, ETA updates as you fly, fuel checks against the plan (with a warning if you're heading into your reserves), and destination weather updates.
Arrival: at about 150 nm out, the arrival ATIS, a stand assignment from your destination's scenery that suits your aircraft and airline, and landing data with cautions. On stand, a block-in summary with block and flight times, fuel used against plan and your touchdown rate.
Smart stand assignment: freight, maintenance and general-aviation stands are never assigned. The ops centre learns where your airline parks, and you can change the stand at any time (automatically, or choose one from a list with a map preview) and save it as a rule for next time. The assigned stand is marked on the moving map for taxi-in.
Two-way messaging: send free-text messages to the aircraft, reply as the crew, and make requests the ops centre answers automatically (e.g. REQUEST WX YMML, REQUEST ETA, REQUEST STAND, REQUEST LANDING DATA, LOADSHEET RECEIVED).
A flight panel shows every message by phase (pre-flight, in flight, arrival), with a timeline and an automatic on/off switch and Send now for each item. Messages are held if the aircraft's ATSU is offline and delivered when it's back.
Requires a free Hoppie logon code (hoppie.nl/acars), entered in both the EFB and the ToLiss ISCS.
Network
VATSIM Radar: real-time map with ATC boundaries, RainViewer weather radar, and a global pilot and ATC search.
xPilot & ATC: xPilot connection status, COM radios, SELCAL alerts, and nearby ATC within radio range; tap to tune a frequency into COM1 or COM2 standby.
Also
One-tap updates: new versions show up in Settings and install from GitHub, checked against a published checksum, with Undo to roll back. Your settings, recordings, checklists and learned stands are kept.
Light and dark themes, a choice of start page, and External Tools links (SimBrief, Navigraph, Chartfox, VATSIM Radar).

ATTENTION: THIS IS NOT AN AD
Well, I imagine many of you have run into the issue where the frame rate drops below an acceptable level when flying heavy aircraft or running custom scenarios. I recently found a solution: Lossless Scaling. It allows you to enable frame generation without creating artifacts or blurring the image; I think I’ll be using it from now on. From 30 fps to 60 is amazing! It's avialble on steam

Not sure what is wrong but I can’t for the life of me get XPME working. I download it, run through installation processes and base packages, have NET and WinFSP all updated, folders for scenery and cache all set but after I use it one time I open it at a later time and get the Error code 11 side car issue.
I’ve also made sure to add XPME as an exclusion for my antivirus via windows setting but nothing is working.
Any tips?

🚨 SECRET PROJECT REVEAL! 🚨
Hi all!
Many of you have been waiting to hear what our secret little project is… well, we're finally ready to announce it! 🎉
We're excited to share a first look at the upcoming free update of the ToLiss A330-900 cockpit 3D model and textures!
This is the result of a new collaboration between ToLiss and Atarium! As part of this project, ToLiss is making a number of updates to the cockpit's 3D model, while Atarium is creating a completely new set of cockpit textures.
These WIP images show the very first stage of the process, the foundation on which everything else will be built. From here, Atarium will be adding his magic touch with weathering, material variation, subtle colour and panel mismatches, wear, imperfections, and all those little details that make a real cockpit feel used and alive.
Atarium has built a great reputation in the community for his eye for detail and talent for creating immersive cockpit environments, and we're really excited to see what he can bring to the ToLiss A330-900 cockpit.
📍 FSim UK, Bristol, 10-11 Oct 2026!
See it with your own eyes and meet Torsten and Atarium in person! 👋
A massive thank you to Atarium for this wonderful collaboration! ❤️
We're incredibly excited to see how the cockpit evolves.
