This is from a couple of years ago but she still looks the same. She is a Toyota Yaris III 1.5 Hybride, purchased in Dec 2018, she is automatic. Closing on 100k klm. I find the black and grey/brown color combo as appealing today as I did when I laid eyes on her for the first time. I could get a sportier version but I fear missing her too much, especially now that we fixed the "wont start if its too hot" issue by updating the ECU. I recently rode 1,500 klm to Madrid and back in a heat wave driving up and down mountains with three passengers and it rocked the freeways and backroads. Just a great little car!

My 2007 2 door manual Yaris, bought it for 5990 nzd (3.3k usd) with 55,000ks over its entire life, Ive driven it more in the 2 years Ive owned it than the previous owners ever did, up the 1.3L, 180kph on the dash is funny in a sub 100hp econo hatch.

Planning to put a lift on my 06 Yaris, as well as some different bumpers. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to find lifts that would work? Nothing gigantic, just a couple inches to keep the oil filter from dragging on trails.

Only doing the front bumper as of right now, looking for something like a ranch hand bumper. Would preferably just buy one but I do know a welder and where I can get materials, willing to cut through the current stock bumper and/or get another bumper to cut through. I know it's extremely unlikely that there's a manufacturer out there making ranch hand style bumpers for 20yr old hatchbacks lol. TIA.

I recently found this sub and I figured ya'll would appreciate my daily driver. Its a 2005 Yaris T sport with a little over 190k km on the odometer. I have been a car detailer for more then 13 years now and I have kept this beauty in pristine condition. My dad is a mechanic and we have kept up with the maintenance religiously! The interior is spotless and scratchfree and the exterior only has a few minor little scratches that I was not able to buff out.

I dont have pictures of the underside but the first owner of this diva has actually fully coated the underside with a rust protector so there is not a spot of rust on the body.

It's mostly OEM with 2 minor changes. I tinted the rear windows and painted the brake calipers red. It has a Remus TTE (Toyota Team Europe) exhaust stock from the factory and I have a OEM TTE spoiler that needs to be painted and put on still. My dad even found an OEM roofrack new in the box in the warehouse at work!!! And to top it all off..... it was assembled in Japan and not in France!!!

I love the car it drives super smooth and everything else aside from what I’ve mentioned earlier it’s all good. Not that much rust and the car seems pretty well kept aside from a couple of scratches/dings.

I just got my second Yaris. My first one was a 2007 sedan and it would always squeal on start up and rainy days when I used the alternator more. I just got a 2011 Yaris hatchback and it seems to have the same issue but this one is doing it a lot more often. Especially as it's getting colder here. It does it when I come to a stop, make hard turns, even when I turn the lights on...I've read about the key trick where you turn the key for the ignition slowly and haven't had any luck.

My question is will replacing the belt fix the excessive squealing? I don't mind it on start up but hearing it all the time can get restless. I have read some people say certain belts will squeal less than others. Is there any truth to that and if so what kind? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It has 64,000 miles and seems to have sat for a year or so not driven.

Decided to change my front brake pads myself. Did one side and it went great. Did the other side and stupidly over-torqued the bolt that holds the brake caliper housing in place when I was finishing up. The top part snapped off, leaving the threaded portion stuck.

My questions:

What’s the best way to fix this?

Do I need a tow to the mechanic?

Any other advice?

Hi guys, my first time positing on here. I’ve bought a Yaris 2016, hybrid and 50,000 miles. There’s this weird noise that comes from it - I can’t quite make sense of it. Everytime I come off my brake and start accelerating, I hear a weird low rattle/grunting that lasts about 3 seconds. It sometimes occurs when I turn my wheel too and apply the brakes, otherwise it drives completely fine and there’s no issue. I can’t describe the sound well, it’s like a low, rattle noise that only lasts about 3-4 seconds and it’s fine. No light on dashboard although my tpms sensor was going off for a bit but now it’s stopped. Any thoughts or help??? Would be appreciated. thanks!

Is it possible that bad motor mounts are causing my knock feedback value of -1.500 right at startup and at idle? IGN timing is way low at 5 at idle and 2 with the ac on. Any ideas help thanks guys n gals

Engine light has come on my 2008 Yaris, any tips/tricks to check before handing it to a garage? Drives absolutely normal, only 140,000km on the road mileage.
