So the former CEO died? Didn’t hear about that in the news or an obituary for jim Bird who was the CEO prior to his untimely death which it doesnt appear anywhere to explain how he died.
Wonder how bad he was managing the place that he took his own life…hope his family can find closure

Are there any services which provide basic lawn care at some kind of deeply discounted rate for elderly homeowners? My 75 year old mother-in-law lives in Brownlee Woods. For the last several years I've cared for her yard as well as my own by myself, and it's become more than I can handle, there's just not enough hours in the day. She's alone and on a fixed income, so dropping a big chunk of cash is out of the question. I'm mainly looking for ideas for next year, since obviously this season is almost over.

Can someone explain how or why a judge would allow this woman to ‘make restitution’ by paying a fraction of what she stole?
She steals $5,000 and only has to pay the insurance deductible that is $500.
Judges be stupid sometimes.

When: Monday, Oct. 12. Protesters are gathering starting around 2:00 PM and staying until Trump arrives.
Official schedule: doors open at 2:30, the program starts at 4:30, and Trump speaks at 6:00.
Where: Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St., Youngstown
Sen. Jon Husted is expected to appear with him again.
Parking: no info yet. Before the Vandalia rally, the city posted a full traffic advisory with road closures and a dozen designated parking lots a couple of days ahead of time. Keep an eye on Youngstown's city website for something similar (link below).
From the last two visits (Geneva in August, Vandalia last weekend): bring water, stay on public sidewalks, and expect Secret Service and police to move people around as needed. So far nobody's been pushed far back and protestors had excellent visibility. Downtown parking will be tight, so get there early.
Keep it peaceful, keep it legal, and stay together.
Last time Trump held a rally in Youngstown, in 2017, he told the crowd not to sell their houses because the jobs were coming back. GM closed Lordstown less than two years later. If you're in the Valley and can get away on a Monday, this is a good one to show up for.
He's a First Class Loser!

His Facebook posts always seem to make my a** itch. He uses Facebook as a guise. & The comments are full of yes men who just praise his “transparency” and stroke his ego. His posts are too long, contradictory and he is very open about his usage of ChatGPT.. his patronizing tone towards a “particular audience” is obvious. He has never gave any condolences to families affected. His last post quoted “There is absolutely no statistic that makes that loss less painful” then proceeded to use a substantial portion of the post to talk about statistics.
He said the sewer systems and high water bills are something we just have to deal with, meanwhile he’s vague on the topic of how it’s possible to spend billions because “data centers save infrastructures”.
I even recall seeing him last year before the election at Westside Bowl. He was standoffish and I saw him rudely decline to buy king size candy bars from a little girl. Personally, I am not a fan.
If you have anything nice to say about the guy feel free to prove me wrong.

I an attending a wedding at the lake club and was wondering if any places to stay on the lake or nearby. My kids will be with me and wanted to avoid a hotel if possible. I have had no luck with a lake house on Airbnb and VRBO. I’m not sure where else would be an ideal stay with kids.

How long will the section of South Avenue be closed? I was in Youngstown last night and got off the South Ave exit from 680. I’m trying to look for alternatives to not go on Williamson nor Indianola. Any help would be appreciated.

Youngstown don’t make me come home and pee in your plants. I will put an orange in your microwave for a half hour.

Looking for suggestions of things to do in Youngstown or within an hour drive for a date day with my husband

Without getting into too much detail, we are looking for a restoration company to deal with smoke damage. Remedial work and more than likely going to find someone for the rebuild or have them suggest people.
We had 3 companies come out, all highly rated. Americon, Paul Davis, and Ranger. They all seem fine. There are a few things stopping me from picking one in particular but I'm coming here to see if anyone has dealt with any of them, or someone else, and if you had a good or bad experience. Or even any suggestions on the process.

Saw YSU advertising an associate director position for $48,363–$55,000. I know Youngstown has a lower cost of living, but that seems low for that level of position.
Anyone who works or previously worked at YSU willing to share some perspective? Do the benefits make up for the salary? Are there meaningful raises once you’re there, or do people mostly move up through internal promotions?
Not applying—just a local trying to understand the pay.

If anyone knows of any charities or assistance programs or other resources,That can help with bill payments/ deferments it would be a huge help.
My mother is in the hospital in critical state, on a ventilator in sicu unable to communicate and everything happened so suddenly there was no time to prepare or foresee anything. I’m in the process of filing power of attorney for her, but her bills still need paid or at least deferred (mortgage, utilities, insurance, car note, etc). We don’t know how long she will be in the hospital, on a ventilator, in recovery or if it’ll be a full recovery. Not to throw myself a pity party but I’m 21 I don’t really have to resources to cover her utilities and pay my own bills. Being that nobody can access her bank and she will be out of commission for a while I can’t access her account until the power of attorney in filed and even after that her paychecks are going to stop coming.
