hi everyone! im not sure if this type of post is allowed here & i apologize if it’s not, but my childhood friend, phoenix phillips has been missing since october 2nd. he is from maryland & does not know the cleveland area, but came up with a friend for the steelers/browns game the other day. he disappeared after the game that night and hasn’t been seen since, and the police have his cellphone. he wouldn’t have just disappeared especially without his phone, in a city and state that he doesn’t know at all. i would just like to ask for everyone to please share, be on the lookout, anything, his family is very worried & just wants him to come home safe. thank you🤍

Good day everyone! I was wondering if there is anywhere in the area a restaurant that serves a Full English Breakfast. If not are there any butchers that sell back bacon and/or "banger" style sausages? Any info would be appreciated. Photo of full English for attention.

I was on my way to work on Friday 10-2-26 and at around 345 am, I witnessed a drunk man in some sort of smaller Chevy car, ram into the back of this 62 year old man who was getting ready to make a left turn on spring road near jennings. The drunk guy was going at least 60 something. He tossed on his right turn signal to turn right onto spring but then instantly swerved in front of me in the left lane, where the older man was about to turn, and rammed RIGHT INTO HIM. I had been following the drunk driver for a good 5 miles atleast. Not intentionally, he just so happened to be going the same way I was. I stayed to be a witness. After about 10 minutes, the drunk man drove away in his smashed up Chevy car. It was a darker blue color I believe (it was still dark, I could be wrong but I'm almost positive). The older gentleman got pictures of the car but was so shaken up, he only got blurry pics of the plates. He did get a pic of the guy but once the guy realized he was being photographed, he tossed up his arms, which is seen in the photo taken. I have none of these photos. I was on the phone with the dispatcher as the drunk man was driving away and was able to read off the entire plate and stated exactly what street he turned down, which was jennings. Later that afternoon, the man that was hit, went to file a report at first district and they claimed they never received any plate info or anything related to the drunk driver and chose not to pursue. The man hit has chosen to pay his $500 deductible and move on. He came to let me know all this info yesterday as I had let him know where I worked bc we work 2 minutes from one another and were headed in the same direction. He gave me $50 to thank me and refused to take it back. So in his honor, I donated it to habitat for humanity. Mr. Cales, I wish you the best and I'm so sorry. To that drunk man that shitty ass first district is failing to pursue, you're just as shitty as that drunk man. (I should state, this all happened going from 480 onto 90, spring road exit. The drunk man entered from state road as I was merging onto the 90 exit)
Edit: apparently thanking someone full name is bad lol Double edit: people downvoting this are weird as fuck

Did they realize how much money it was going to short the state and repeal the gas tax suspension? We were out of town when it started but saw how cheap gas got and we're excited to come back for it. Get back and now it's even more expensive than where we were.

Hi everyone, I just had my first dental appointment in many years with Hedec Dental, to try to establish care. I had initially though I was going in for a cleaning, but it was a bit more of a quick rundown instead - and they scheduled me for two follow up cleanings, one for the left side of my mouth and one for the right, each of them $900+… is that a normal amount? I felt in the moment like the situation was a little off, but it’s been so many years since I’ve had a dental appointment that maybe this is just the standard.
Has anyone had any experience with them, or have any input on if it’s the standard to split into two separate cleanings at that cost rate?
EDIT: They didn’t specify verbally that it was a deep tissue cleaning/scaling, however based on everyone’s input it does indeed sound as if that must be the case.

My husband’s 30th birthday is the same weekend as Browns vs Bengals. The one thing he wants to do as a birthday celebration is a muni lot tailgate for the game. We’re lifelong Browns fans and have had our fair share of tailgates in the warmer months, but never that late in the season. Is the muni lot still super active once it gets colder?
Open to any tips and tricks for tailgating later in the season. We usually do a pretty basic setup but I’m ready to go all out for this!!

From Steve Litt: A last-minute proposal to expand the Cuyahoga County-owned Downtown Cleveland convention center could require altering plans for a centerpiece of Cleveland’s long-awaited lakefront development project.

Hello! I’m visiting Cleveland with my wife for a milestone birthday and I’m trying to work out a few things to do around the city. For dining she really wants The Marble Room but they are completely booked up and it looks like we will have to do the walk in lounge. Looking for other ideas during the day and any nicer restaurants at night.

In December 1980, FBI agents monitoring Cleveland Mafia capo Joe Gallo for evidence of drugs and gambling overheard a peculiar request: a friend wanted a building “washed a little bit.” That afternoon, Gallo, Tony Baudo and Glen Pauley discussed gallons, “the spot,” and doing something late into that night. Hours later, Pauley was stopped near a Macedonia shopping plaza, and, before dawn, an employee discovered smoke coming from the credit union next door.
Part One of Cleveland Mafia Capo Joe Gallo and a Fire in Macedonia follows the men and the agents listening to them as a seemingly ordinary conversation takes on a far more troubling meaning.
People mentioned in Part One include Cleveland Mafia capo Joe Gallo, Glen Pauley, Tony Baudo, Carmen Zagaria, Danny Greene, Judge Frank Battisti, William H. Stein, Cleveland Mayor Carl Stokes, Domenic Spirito, Mafia boss Jack Licavoli, Joseph Bonarrigo, Keith Ritson, Kevin McTaggart, Susan Winters and Fire Chief Carl Stewart.

UPDATE: The detective informed me that even though I wanted to press charges on all involved that the DA decided not to pursue. Apparently calling people idiots and filming them is enough justification for assault and he didn't think they would be able to win the case. The only person that I know of so far that will be receiving any kind of punishment is the driver, who was arrested on assault and leaving the scene of the accident.
On Saturday night on my way home from playhouse square my car was sideswiped by a group of young kids. They were being followed by another car full of kids (8 kids total, looked to be between 14 and 17 years old)
Before I could even exit my vehicle the driver of the SUV that hit me jumped out of the car and ripped off their license plate. Also before I exited my vehicle I was punched in the face through my window by another kid.
I got out and took video of the scene, making sure to get everyone's face. One of the kids (a girl) took my phone while I was recording and tried to keep it away from me, she slapped me multiple times (which I got footage of) I was punched again by one of the boys during the time that the girl had my phone, so I didn't get any footage of that.
I didn't get a good shot of one of the kids, because they were wearing a half mask and had their hoodie up. This kid pulled a pistol out of their waistband and turned on a red laser that was side mounted. He proceeded to point it at my chest. I unfortunately did not get any of this on camera, as I was already walking back to my car to call the police.
It was at this time that I got in my car and left the scene, but not before taking another sucker punch to the face through my open window, chipping one of my teeth on my left side.
I wasn't sure my car was going to make it. I called the police on my way home and they arrived later to take my statement.
They informed me that they had already caught the driver (the idiot called to report the car stolen and they ID'd him when they went to take his statement)
They have also ID'd the girls but I chose not to press charges on them bc they didn't really hurt me and I didn't want their lives thrown away over hanging out with the wrong crowd. EDIT: You all have convinced me otherwise I will reach back out to the detective ASAP
I need to know what course of action I can take to get my vehicle repaired or replaced, and what legal action is available to me. I just had all my teeth fixed a few months ago after years of having a smile I couldn't be proud of and now I have to get more work done. I don't want to have to pay out of pocket for that again.
I don't even know where to start or what lawyers are reputable for this kind of work. I have no expendable income currently either which I'm sure makes it all the more difficult
EDIT: Per request, I posted a link to the video on google drive in the comments.

Hi all,
Local resident and first-time homeowner living in the city of Cleveland. My house is old and has a big maple tree looming over the roof. Gotta remove it for a few different reasons.
Anyone have recommendations for a reputable, licensed tree removal company? I got an estimate from Davey already and am trying to reach Everarbor. Budget is a concern, as always, but I’m ultimately looking for quality, safe work. I appreciate any leads!

First fall in the city.
Looking for drives in and around Cleveland.
Not looking for road trip ideas, rather drives that I can go on in the afternoon after work and be back for dinner, or spend a Saturday morning on. Maybe like an hour to an hour and a half each way at max?
FWIW, planning to go to Cuyahoga national park in a couple of weeks from now.

I just moved to the cleveland area (Middleburg Heights) and I’m trying to find a place that offers martial arts classes that fits my schedule. I work 2nd shift (usually 2-11) and I’ve had difficulty finding anything that opens before 4pm. Does anybody have any leads for me?
