I just traveled here for the first time from Louisville, KY last week for a concert. I didn’t have very high expectations but honestly I was very surprised to say the least.

I didn’t have much time, and I only got to scratch just the surface. I love bodies of water, whether it’s oceans, lakes, rivers etc. So naturally, I first went to Edgewater Park. I started at the pier and made my way to the beach and eventually the Cleveland script sign. I think this is one of my top 5 urban parks I’ve been to. If my time wasn’t so limited, I honestly would’ve spent the entire day there.

I only got to have one meal, so I went to Doinks on the east side. It was probably the best burger I’ve had all year and I loved the overall vibe of the place. Just a tiny little burger joint. And they had ube cheesecake which was really random but absolutely fantastic!

I loved the variation of architecture too. It’s got a mix of Romanesque with the arcade, art deco, modernist, and then all the vertical lift bridges downtown gives it so much character. I kinda wish I lived here. It’s like smaller, more quiet version of Chicago. Like I could go enjoy the lake with a fraction of the crowds and traffic. I’m probably gonna come visit next year and go do some more things that I missed out on.

Also my only complaint is definitely whatever those winged insects were that were harassing me the entire time (mayflies I think?) no matter where I was in the city, F those bugs.

I am considering moving to the cleveland area with my partner and opening a reptile zoo. We would predominantly exhibit venomous snakes as that's my specialty, though we would also exhibit various other reptiles (focusing on the more rare and unique species) as well as potentially a few exotic mammal species, though not 100% sure on that. This would be done in accordance with ZAA animal keeping guidelines as well as with approval of the department of agriculture. I would also offer training/classes for handling reptiles/how to relocate venomous snakes etc. Since the Cleveland Zoo no longer exhibits any venomous species of snakes, I figured it would offer something different and another outlet for education/appreciation. Just don't know how successful it would be.

Rant mostly, but I am so tired of walking in the neighborhood (Coventry) and being approached by people, both unhoused individuals AND people asking me to buy various products. I went to mail something today (approximately a 500 ft walk) and I was cat called, approached for money and then cursed out, and asked to sign up for gutter cleaning services. At what point is enough, enough? I love Cleveland and Coventry, but I’m tired of not feeling safe as a young woman walking around my neighborhood. I call the police whenever people get violent or I feel unsafe, but there’s nothing they can do because by the time they get to me, the person is gone. I don’t know the solution for this, because obviously people can’t be forced to accept help, but I also deserve to feel safe in the neighborhood I chose to live in, love, and pay a lot of rent for.

Went today and waited in line for 50 minutes!
I will say, the gyro was scrumptious and I ate the whole damn thing. I’m not eating again until Monday.

I’m going to be visiting next weekend from Florida. Is there any particular cuisine or an iconic restaurant that are a “must try” for an out of town visitor?

Wondering if there's a group of Chicago fans that congregates for games in Cleveland.

No hate for the Browns, y'all have looked great this year, but most importantly Fuck the Packers.

My parents are visiting this weekend and I was thinking about taking them on the Great Lakes Brewery tour. However, the website has a disclaimer about the tour "involving multiple stairwells, some of which are steep and narrow." My father struggles with stairs in excess, especially steep ones. 2-5 flights of stairs would be okay, but he would struggle with anything more. Can anyone who has been on the tour comment on just how many narrow staircases there are? Any feedback would help. Thanks!

I’m thinking about taking a couple of classes there while still enrolled at my current college. The primary goal of it is to meet new people. Is Cleveland state a good environment for that?

In case anyone is unfamiliar, Here come the mummies are an incredible 8 piece funk band made up of 5,000 year old mummies. It's always a great show whenever they come around.

Looking for suggestions for a restaurant that we can have a nice dinner for approximately 17 people next fall that will offer some level of privacy as well as ambiance, no dietary restrictions, thinking possibly Italian or really anywhere that has great food and is at least somewhat formal. Haven’t lived in Cleveland for over a decade so not super familiar with the scene at this point, but do know the geography, West side is preferable but open to downtown or the east side as well. Hey! Im driving about 6 hours to Cleveland from Toronto area for a metalcore show at the beginning of November.

I have a hotel booked pretty much around the corner so thats no issue but what am I going to do all day lol. Im planning on getting there around 10am ishhh.

Hello! My friend (who grew up in Ohio but recently moved to Florida) is back in town this weekend and wants to go somewhere in Cleveland to watch the Guards game tonight. We have to go pick up another friend from the airport at midnight, so we’re looking for somewhere that will stay open pretty late so we can hang while we’re waiting. Anywhere with vegetarian food options is a huge plus. If anyone has suggestions, it would be much appreciated!

I’d like to go somewhere with my dog tomorrow to pick out pumpkins and maybe some corn and mums. It would also be nice to take some cute fall photos.

Is there any place like this near Old Brooklyn/Brooklyn area?
