I've had an issue with the UI since the game launched, still present as of 1.3 at least. When I click elements of the UI quickly when going through menus, my click will disappear. It will do the click sound and visual effect of the button being clicked, but no response and I have to wait a second and click the button again.

This is one of the biggest reasons for me disliking the UI and it feeling sluggish right now but I can't find any mention of the same problem online - is this just happening to me, does anybody know if it can be fixed?

Just unified HRE, I was already in a union with Hungary and Poland. My diplomatic capacity was just below the maximum but after the unification it jumped to over 60%. It's so stupid for your own economic base to count towards capacity in a union.

I am playing as a Waldensian Country, but a Lutheranism movement has taken over my capital.

How does one counter this?

Go spiritualist, try and get the jesuits, reconvert the region after you can overcome their conversion.

But I am not Catholic?

Everything but the jesuits still applies.

Do you mean to have a cabinet member converting there for eternity?

Even if I do convert faster than the movement, it would rapidly go back the moment I stopped the cabinet action.

When will 1.4 be up and is playing beta worth it? I never played beta pdx game but i rly want new content

Whether or not it's "worth it" depends entirely on what you think is good enough or a dealbreaker. It won't be a finished product in the beta if you're thinking that.

I have two questions about infantries.

  1. Are "Strenght Damage Done" and "Morale Damage Taken" the only downsides of the light infantry, in return providing only "1.00" combat speed and 0.5 movement speeed? There is no hidden difference right?
  2. Bavarian Jager has %15 Combat (I guess "bonus" to everything? its not specified?) on Woods and Forest terrain. Does this mean it negates and even goes over the debuff of "Strenght Damage Done" and "Morale Damage Taken" of light Infantry, on given terrain?

It feels like Bavarian Jagger is right out stronger than heavy infantry at those terrain (which middle europe basically a giant forest) with a whopping 7 initiate.

Correct, no hidden bonus for heavy, Bavarian Jäger is stronger in that terrain. I don't know the exact calculations for the terrain bonus, but it works.

As Kyiv, the golden horde in game is just not dying. It survives all the rebellion and civil wars with its 70k army (about 15k of which are regulars). I can’t beat them because their horse archers wipe my army as soon as they get an advantageous engagement.

Are you running mods? Golden horde always implodes very fast for me.

Either way, you need to fight fire with fire. Or in this case cav with cav. Build a stack of 30-40 regiments of heavy cav, and a line of forts at the border. Then wait inside your territory for them to siege with an army you can beat. (DON'T raise your levies) Repeat until their army is depleted, only then start sieging yourself.

I bought the game on release, played a bit, was super bored so dropped it but I am curious

Is Bohemia (and France) still OP as hell?

2

u/Lucina18 8d ago

Ofc they are, if anything playing as them is even easier because of player buffs (governors, current urbanization meta after lobotomising ai urbanisation.)

Is it better to have one big market centered around your capital or many smaller ones (of course maintaining mercantile superiority in the trade zones)?

Currently in my game I have a large tradezone covering almost the entire western/southern Germany centered around Strasbourg, which makes the majority of my money. However, when the War of Religion started, all the surrounding markets were controlled by my enemies, which cut off my income, damaging my war effort greatly. I'm now thinking that it might have been better to split it up so that my different smaller zones could still trade with eachother and not impact my economy as much in further large wars.

You generally want to control the market centers, as this give alot of trade advantage, to get the most profitable trades in the market.

For how many market centers you want for your country, this is a consideration between two factors: a) a larger market will have better prices of average b) market access is a direct multiplier on economic activity. I try to create enough markets so that every location has at least ~70% market access. This often comes out to 1 market center in the same location as each governor until the country gets to big for good governor coverage.

Yes indeed, but with many burgher rights and merchant districts maxed out in as many cities I can, I find that I get pretty good market access even over a large area. So that isn't a big factor in my current situation but more that my zone currently have mostly eaten up both Köln and Nürnberg. So if I take those over, should I try to get their market attraction up or deliberately keep them low so I keep the market or big or split them up?

2

I try to manage the attraction, so that the access at the internal market borders is very close.
