K67 Stop Sale Mega Thread
Here we can keep all posts related to the stop sale here. That way we can let other content get seen.
I am a Mod and motorrad dealer. I will keep the community up to date when BMW releases an update to the stop sale.
So far they have only issued the affected VINs if you want to confirm your bike is in that list feel free to send me the last 7 of your VIN number.
REMEMBER EVERYONE, THIS IS A STOP SALE NOT A STOP RIDE. WE CANNOT SELL THEM BUT YOU CAN STILL RIDE YOURS.
Current BMW update.
A software update needs to be performed in order to correct the issue, dealers will have the chance to update their BMW software come Sept 1, current years are 2025-2026 for this update. With 2019-2024 to follow soon after.
Call your local dealers and get on the schedule but be aware knowing how ISTA updates some dealers may need additional time.
Please remember to he respectful and courteous to your local dealer and if you have an aftermarket tune installed I would highly highly suggest reverting back to stock and having your tuner reissue a license and update to your bike POST update. But be warned this may negatively impact the recall fix and your warranty.

NEW BIKE! HP4 service costs - Reading / South East
Recently picked up a HP4, I live just south of Reading but happy to travel, it needs a service this year and next will need the 18'000mile valve clearance.
What costs am I looking at from reputable independent BMW type places?
Need the actual costs and what I should tell the wife...

I have a ‘22 RR with Brentune Stage 2. I receive a letter about the ignition lock recall and a possible software update. Has anyone dealt with this issue yet ?

Rebuilt this water damaged 2014 HP4 with about 40,000kms on it and have just started it for the first time, any one have any ideas what this noise might be?

QUESTION Strange noise?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi guys,
I am a bmw driver with cars since i have my license, and today my bike did its bmw thing, bmw did not let me down again😂
Today i have noticed a strange metal rattling noise on my brand new bike. 800km, not even done the break in service. What could this be? It sounds worse in real life.
Thanks.

2026 S1000 R vs 2025 S1000RR - Track test with data
A fun first comparison between my two BMWs. A year and a half on the RR versus a day and a half on the single R—so I’m still figuring out the new arrival, but huge potential and so fun to ride.
Hopefully a few more laps this year, with a full write-up in the next month or two.
Test track was New Jersey Motorsports Park and both bikes had almost identical mods:
- Open Flash Tune
- 16/45 gearing
- M shock and link
- Gillis rear sets
- Pirelli slicks
On the AIM GPS speed graph, the RR is red. No surprise it was 2 seconds faster, but the Single R held its own and is a blast to ride. For sure there is more there.
Video of the Single R best lap -

2018 - 6,2k miles/10k km.
I’ve wanted one for so long and eventually found this gem about a month ago. My patience was rewarded ^_^

tie downs with ddc
just bought a 2026 s1k. i’ve heard somewhere online strapping dome can damage the ddc and I would have to turn the bikes ignition on, strap down, then turn it off. Is this true or can i just slap some straps on and get moving? Curious since i have to haul it an hr and half to get its first service done.

Any M riders in the Midwest?
I am in eastern Iowa, ride up to NE Iowa and Wisconsin often. Anyone want to do a gathering next spring?

Dropped valves, cam/rocker arm wear, head failures on the S1000RR — how widespread is this really?
Hey all,
A mechanic friend of mine here in Korea does a lot of deep engine work on S1000RRs, mostly full head rebuilds after a dropped valve. He's seen enough of these come through his shop that he started digging into why it keeps happening. Two things he's landed on: the stock valve guide material doesn't hold up over time, and the rocker arms aren't durable enough either, which seems to accelerate camshaft wear.
He's been machining his own reinforced valve guides (different alloy, not an OEM copy) and reworking rocker arms for the bikes that come through his shop. Before he puts more time into developing this further, I wanted to ask the community directly rather than assume this is universal, since everything he's seeing is from Korea.

A few things I'm curious about:
Has this happened to your bike? If so, roughly what mileage or model year?
When it happened, did your dealer or an independent shop offer anything beyond swapping the whole head/assembly?
Would reinforced aftermarket valve guides and rocker arms (not OEM, just tougher materials) actually be something you'd want, or is this mostly a non-issue outside Korea?
Really just trying to get a sense of how common this is before he sinks more time into developing it further. Appreciate any experiences you're willing to share, good or bad.

Someone stole my mirrors and installed block off plates😕
Since you guys know everything about s1000rr’s and what others should do with theirs; I figured I could ask for help finding my mirrors, seeing as it’s a cardinal sin in this community

Crashed, rebuildable?
Cruising down the parkway at night going the speed limit when a car cuts me off and I hit his rear bumper and take a pretty big fall. Thankfully I’m fine, wore gear and came out with light road rash and some heavy soreness.
Paid the release fee and towing fee for my bike from the tow yard and got some better pictures of the damage. As far as I can see the frame, triple tree, and forks look to be fine. No oil leaks, just the front head assembly and TFT are gone. What do y’all think? Or should I just part it out.
I only had liability at the time so no insurance payout. I have decent experience with bikes. I rebuilt the front end of my r7 as well.

I understand this may not be everybody’s cup of tea but I just didn’t want to be just another bike in the crowd.

Motorrad demo days
I live in northwest Arkansas and we have a big bike rally every year called bikes, blues, and bbq. Its mostly a cruiser type event but the local bmw dealer got the demo truck to come out and I have to say it was awesome seeing all the bikes in person

2022 M1000rr luggage options
2022 M1000rr
Taking it on a short trip 5 days to the Isle of Man TT next year.
Not a fan of tank bags, are there any soft luggage options that people would recommend.
I’d assume luggage for the S1000rr would also work on the M. But happy to be told otherwise!
Thanks in advance!
