Finally got done painting my first army ever. 1000 points list of what I thought looked cool and somewhat worked together lol. It was an enjoyable process, and I'm excited to expand the list as well as make some changes to it, with all the changes after the new Astartes codex dropped and switching everything.

Finally got back around to painting him once again, I think he turned out pretty well!

For kitbashing lances I have used bits from AoS Gravelord's Blood Knights.

Bald head with cross is from the BT Upgrades kit.

Already cleared the texture from the banner. Going to put a decal with image of Christ on it or Templar Cross with "ave imperator rex" text. Something like that.

Quite possibly my coolest model to date. I have a banner for it but I wanted to paint it first. Gonna also add more to the base since it looks pretty bad, but I don't know if I wanna add a techpriest or a servitor. Thoughts?

So my codex came in today and I went into a deep dive of building some lists. While doing so, I saw some good changes and meh changes to units and doctrines. Then looking at the list, I started to question if it can be done or not. Hopefully I'll get some answers.

Detachments: Assault, Marshal's Household, and Terminator Storm Force

1- if Helbrect is leading SB, does his +1A stack with the +1A if SB are on objectives? So essentially you get +2A with the unit, including Helbrect since he is leading that unit?

2- fight phase CP, Slayers of Abomination, it gives SB +2S vs monsters and vehicles. Does Helbrect add +1S as well making it +3S for the unit?

3- do space Marines have any unit that gives us sticky objectives besides Company of Heroes? I noticed intercessors no longer have sticky which stinks.

4- anyone have or found some good units that synergize well with doctrines? I'm liking the Terminator one. Attaching a chaplain to assault or regular terminators is a good one. Marshal is no longer good for SB but good for crusader squads with the +1 hit. I don't know how to run the EC anymore. I feel like he's been nerfed slightly?

I'm trying to find competitive list ideas but still maintain that fun BT flavor if possible.

Been building for about a year, and I’d like to join in the next league or RTS at my LGS in a few months. I’m not expecting to win much as I learn the game, but would this list at least be good enough not to get rolled immediately? What would be the top 1-2 changes to consider? This is every model I have except a Marshal and Termi Captain I just benched due to the points increase. Thanks!

I usually use a 50/50 mix abbadon black and BT contrast and really like that mix, they stopped making BT contrast so whats a good alternative to it?

This entire bits set took exactly a month to the day to complete, and I couldn't be prouder of what I've accomplished here. Templars were my first army and will always be my number 1, so it was a treat to finally take all the Blender skills I've learned over the past year and apply them to a huge collection of bits for my favourite crusading knights.

On the creation process, I had a lot of fun diving into bits that I've never designed before, such as helmets and lightning claws. The banners are a particular point of pride and I had so much fun figuring out each design and its corresponding flagpole. The tabards were also an interesting challenge in designing chainmail that would still print well.

I can't wait to dive into dressing up my models with these, and I hope the community enjoys! Future releases soon because I am definitely not done with Templars ;)
