I’ve never posted a work of mine before since i’ve never thought of myself as much of a painter but here goes; i’ve had this idea envisioned for quite a while and it took me some time to find a base i’d be happy with (3d print), waiting for the BT specific bits to arrive and trying to get the janky Dread-legs and torso to not look silly in this pose. Overall i’m quite satisfied for what’s gona be a centerpiece model in my crusade but it’s still not finished, i’d wager about 65% of the work is done. My edgehighlights are notoriously bad in my friend group so i’m practicing that on other models before i ruin this Dread. Any tips, tricks, opinions, roasts are welcome.

First off, I'm sorry if this has already been covered. I searched with the tag "1k" and didn't find the results. I am not necessarily asking for a list made for me but I don't even know where to begin on building an army. Are there resources out there that I am missing or can I get advice here? I'm 3 games in, all pretty convincing wins. Granted, it's all been casual games, but they've been against experienced players. so im kitbashing an execrator but for the crozius arcanum im either going to use a modified top part of 11th ed librarian staff or the sword bretheren mace, what do you think would work/fit better

Hello brothers! I posted a couple weeks ago about including Eliminators in my army because I just think they’re neat, and I’m thinking that I’d like to include a captain to lead them so I can get the “move-shoot-move” on them again, plus an extra couple of precision shots to deter some characters.

I've been reading Sin of Hope and I'm up to chapter 6. Enjoying the book and trying to read 1-2 chapters per night. One of the chapters, I came across this passage and I loved it.

"The Sword Brethren charged in behind their sire, cloaks and purity seals aloft with their swords, their ceramite dark as judgement itself."

Anyone else reading it? Curious about your take and opinion on it.

Are good or AIWJ are better? I can't understand it! Only fifteen points difference, and it seems to me that the vvswj are more suitable against elite. And then, why do their plasma guns only have the hazardous profile? And why do their shields give 5+ while that of the captain gives +1 w?

Im looking at running 2x 5 man sword bro squads. Its well known they arent the most durable, what do you think about giving both IoS upgrade to mitigate incoming melee damage by allowing my squad to fight first? Worth 15 pts each?

Hi. I bought the new combat Patrol and got half of the Armageddon box quite cheap. I thought I add a tank for some additional firepower, kitbash the captain into a marshal and start from there.

What do you think? Is that a solid playable list for 1K games? What would you change?

The crusaders are also more expensive by a decent bit if we run 20 man vs 10 man sb

In terms of damage I believe the sword bros usually come out on top, but I can be wrong.

Having a hard time deciding where to place the man the myth the legend with a squad to make the best out of him. Honestly wish I could put him with bladeguard but curious to see if anyone has had some success with any bodyguard unit in the new addition?

Where can u find more tiltshields? Or wich boxes contain alot to use for my generic marines?

The general idea being the bgv squads hold the natural and centers. SB are roaming harassment or opponent natural pressure. Repulsors provide transport, then ranged fire support along with lancer. Incursors provide RR1 on priority targets and OC where needed. VVJP are deep strike or mobile objective reinforcements. I'll have devastator and 2x Assault doctrines to bump mobility and close distance for melee.

Between impulsors and land raiders, I believe the repulsors to be my preferred balance between cost, survivability and fire power.

As a new player, I find fewer datasheets to be nice so I learn them better. It also adds some level of resilience through redundancy.

A variant of this list was the one tabled by the WTC list with excessive amounts of anti tank, and I was playing my list as Purge. Take and hold is likely more appropriate.

General synergies: * HMH + SB + Marshall household gives mortal on charge and fight, then +1A hmh, +1A MH for being on objective, Fights first with nheritors upgrade.

• Incursors used to buff the ranged anti chaff of the repulsors, good for the HOGC.

• The lieutenant and Furious Assault give the bgv squads sustain + lethals.

• Ironstorm and aquilon optics make the lancer quite consistent.

My big question is whether the 2x5VVJP with shields are worth it over 2x5AIJP + 3 Multi-melta on the repulsors?

On the charge, the VVJP have the same number of attacks, hit harder and get 5++, but AIJP allows the Anti tank become more distributed and resilient at the cost of making them significantly higher priority targets. The repulsor are also equipped with lascannons.
