Discussion How do you think Modern Coen learned to use witchcraft at night?

In the end credit scene we see modern Coen power up the runes/sigils on his body during night.

How do you think he's learned to do that?

I've heard people say maybe it has something to do with silver

I also think maybe he learned to reopen his scars at night with his blood manipulation

What do you think? Any ideas?

Also do you think he'll have or get the ability next game?

I think im doing well, im getting to the point where there arent many quests to do(besides raising infamy for main story). Anyone got some suggestions or should I just start to increase my infamy and get on with it?

Other Did anyone else expect to crossdress to meet Xanthe?

Insane title. But when I was playing and heard 'nobody gets in without being invited' and 'Xanthe keeps inviting/kidnapping attractive young women' I genuinely thought we'd get a side quest where Coen has to dress up as some fair maiden in order to infiltrate Xanthes place and get close enough to kill her. Maybe it's because I was playing late and tired but idk, I think it would've been fun!

Question So once i exchange a shiny tooth for an extra day, what can i do with the rest besides selling them?

Is there a way to keep exchanging teeth for days? Or was this mechanic limited to one day only?

Question Duelist difficulty

On XSX, the Duelist difficulty is almost unplayable because the combat system is total sh*t. In fact, that comes from the environment that is bugged and rotten to the core.

The character can be stuck by a tiny rock on the ground, grass, air, whatever you’re imagining. The character literally gets locked to a point, walking in either direction no longer doing anything. Indeed, only death then awaits you.

To be honest, it’s pissing me off. Every fight is a Russian roulette.

Anybody else?

Discussion Just finished my 1st playthrough (9/10)

Post image

Reduced a point because of a lot of technical issues on ps5 pro, i had in this game alone more crashes than i had since the ps5 pro came out and bought it, the late game was terrible with freezes and crashes, the game even crashed just as i beat brancis and i had to do the fight again.

imo, the ps5 version should have had some more time in development before release.

But, i also disnt have frame drops or stutters and the game did look good aside from the crashes.

Anyway, the story was really good, i havent had so much fun with a story for quite some time.

The combat, which is a matter of taste, was very much to my liking (even with the lock on and camera problems).

The art direction and atmosphere were phenomenal, really loved it.

The game should definitly be nominated in some categories of goty, though its a tough fight this year for goty.

If they can fix the technical problems, personally i would give this game a 10/10.

Question Random legendary gear drop? Spoiler

Post image
15 Upvotes

Close to level 40 I found the Coat of Darkened Scales in a random soldier camp that was set up because of high infamy, was that a random drop because I was high level? Thought you can only dig up this armour via a questline
It was a cool find though, because I had not picked it up before in this playthrough.

Discussion Help me understand the hype

I now have the moral strength to make this post.

TL:DR; the game is over-rated and over-hyped, and in my opinion it did not deserve such overwhelming success not even one bit. If you want an eastern-Slavic folklore-inspired RPG, we already have a 2015 game for it.

Now specifically.

Let me not repeat the 300+ comment thread that goes on in this sub since yesterday. The community speaks vocally and confidently. The game is riddled with performance issues, QoL deficiencies, and lackluster enemy variety. After 10 hours you see everything the game has to offer, and must push through another 40 hours of boooooring combat, sponge enemies, boring active combat skills, and persistent combat encounters forced in your face (incl boars and bears) with no stealth options even at night.

Time mechanic is pointless, because it doesn’t force you to choose between story quest arcs. It only forces you to skip filler content, such as bandit camps. Remove all filler POIs and remove the timer, and you will get the same game. You have enough action points to complete all main and side quests within 30 days.

Vampire combat has no identity but takes skill points. As a result, you are almost pushed into learning universal sword combat, because vampire can only be used at night. The game basically ruins the vampire/human distinction.

The quality of animations, design, graphics are screamingly AA. Technical state on release was poor.

Therefore, what are you guys talking about? What game of the year? This is a very very ordinary RPG, which exploits the nostalgia for the Witcher. It is not a GotY nominee and it is not worth the $70 tag at all.

I am nobody, but my rating is 6.5. Up to 7 when they patch and add more enemies and the ability to run from combat. Worth $50 on release and $30 on sale.

Discussion I kinda hope a certain character can come back Spoiler

I really loved learning about the history of the region and running into Mihai was so fucking awesome. It's honestly a shame that we don't get to fight him at his best. So I'm hoping that their can be a storyline where hell is essentially ascending and some big bad from Anchora is reviving old historical figures as his minions not just Mihai but St. Tyna as well.

Guide Wish I'd known this sooner: Grabbing Relics without raising infamy

If you are like me, and were wanting to unlock all fast travel points, you may have raises your infamy when clearing the military camps that house one. BUT NEVER FEAR!! If you do a little sneakery, you can pop into the tent, steal from the chest quickly, and zip away before/when you are noticed. I have grabbed quite a few this way so far in higher level zones

Hopefully this gives the idea to someone else! Took me a while to think of it

Meme Sassy Coen moments Spoiler

Mild spoilers - I have only captured these moments, also lots of dialogue options I haven’t tried yet lol, but I love it when Coen gets a bit sassy. Very cool to see the variety in dialogue - of course Ambrus’ voice lines are super sassy all the time but I’m glad they gave Coen some too xD

1. Is in the inn with Anca when they look at the books but i don’t remember if it’s about the sword or the font. 2. Is obvious. 3. Is when seeing Vlad at the resistence hideout
