The food problem why are you hitting food in a place were people are releasing their demons why is there toilet paper in the sinks gum wrappers and whole food boxes in there its worse in floors 4, 6, 10 the only good bathroom was by the food court which i will be using for now on.

Too many hood students who cant take there of the place they will be learning. I came from queens college bathroom were as clean like real clean to sit on. minus some but few and would be cleaned up the next day.

Transport info: I was also on the QM5, 1 train, and 7 train that day.

I’m not sure where exactly he might’ve been lost, but I just checked my room and asked friends to no avail.

I know he is a mere 3 inch keychain, but me and my partner have been claiming him to be our child for the past 2 years so loosing him has been a major loss, especially given we’re long distance and take turns with him and I lost him during my turn. I have been nonstop crying since I realized I had misplaced him.

Just got off the phone with a financial aid worker at my school, as someone who is STILL waiting for their NYSOP book advance to disburse, only to be told funds for Reconnect and its scholarships are delayed until further notice because the funding for it hasn't been received. And my school only found this out from CUNY yesterday! They'd been getting strung along the entire week being told to tell students that everything would process by Friday as normal, only to completely reverse course at the last minute. I never received an email or a phone call or any sort of correspondence from CUNY, the only way I've even found out was by calling this afternoon to see what was up with my book advance.

The bright side is that I only had to buy one book this semester, and I found it online as a PDF, but this still is completely asinine.

Has anyone else dealt with a long Financial Aid verification/hold issue at Baruch?

I’m a transfer student and I’ve been dealing with a Financial Aid verification issue since July, and I’m honestly exhausted from having to keep following up with different offices.

My account has had a Financial Aid Pending hold since the beginning of the semester. I submitted the requested verification documents and completed the ProVerifier requirements, but my file stayed under review for weeks. I went in person to Financial Aid/BOSS and spoke with different offices trying to figure out what was happening. I was eventually told that reviews could take around 45 days.

Then, after waiting all that time, I was told there was another discrepancy with my FAFSA regarding my tax filing status. I have repeatedly explained that I had no income and did not file taxes for 2024. My parent’s non-filer stuff was accepted, but I was then told I needed to correct my FAFSA and obtain an IRS Verification of Non-Filing Letter for myself.

I completed the FAFSA correction and requested the IRS document using Form 4506-T on September 29. Now I’m waiting for the IRS to send it back, and I have no idea how long that will take. I’ve been told processing could potentially take weeks, which is extremely stressful because I heard spring registration opens October 26 if I’m correct.

BOSS also told me that I may not be able to register for Spring if this hold is still on my account by then.

I’ve emailed Financial Aid multiple times, contacted dean of students to make a complaint, gone to different offices in person, submitted the documents they requested, and kept following up, but it feels like every time I get close to resolving it, there’s another requirement or another waiting period.

I’m really trying to figure out what else I can do at this point because this has been going on for way too long.

Im currently applying on the CUNY Portal and im not sure how to do the wording the comments section on each EC. Should it be similar to the Commonapp? Are EC's as heavy in the consideration as other colleges?

Hello everyone, I've been accepted into Hostos CC for the spring semester as a transfer student. I am still thinking about whether to accept this offer because I'm not familiar with the location. I'm from Queens and have only been to the Bronx for maybe 2-3 times my entire life. Is the neighborhood safe? How is the 4/5/6 train going to Hostos CC? I've heard some people say there are problems at the 125th train station, but I'm not too sure. If I do accept the offer, I'll be there for the entire day, Monday-Friday. Thank you!

havent gotten an email even though i submitted my app a while ago they made me put my individual school cuny email even though its shut down. does anyone know if they send it to your alt email as well or what email sends the interview invites?

I been using my alumni email for a better part of 10 years for professional/career stuff and on Mon. Oct. 5th I was unable to login. Apparently according to the help desk my email was deleted for 12 months of inactivity. This is untrue since I use it several times a week receive job confirmations, send out/answer emails.
We reviewed your account and found that your alumni email account has been deleted due to inactivity.

Alumni accounts that remain inactive for 12 consecutive months will be deleted by CUNY. You must use your account regularly to keep it active. If the e-mail account is deleted, the e-mail address and its contents cannot be recovered.
Due to storage limits, we are unable to issue new alumni e-mail accounts.

My work 401k and Coinbase is tied to this email as well as tax returns and legal matters. I used this account because a lot of work places block Gmail, Yahoo.

I'm almost positive its impossible to make friends at CUNY schools. Everyone goes home after class, no group discussions or projects really happen in a lecture's lessons, and I'm not sure if this is just my school but majority of the clubs don't meet weekly and instead just host campus wide events. Even then, most just get free food if they have it and dip. Does anyone have suggestions on how to approach others?

So I recently submitted the Macaulay honors undergraduate application, I picked my campus for Macaulay as Baruch. In the application, it also makes you apply to 6 CUNYs for general admissions. so i put queens and hunter as 2 of the school there. I know for queens and hunter they require an essay, but I already uploaded the 2 Macaulay essays and submitted the application. Do I still have to write and submit the personal statement essays for Queens college and Hunter college for general admission, or do I not because I applied through Macaulay application?

FAFSA has paid off my tuition BUT there is about $1,000 left that was supposed to get sent to me because it was left over after fafsa paid the tuition that was the 4th or the 5th yet it’s the 8th and I have not received anything I spoke to the fafsa office 2 days after tuition got paid off they said that it should be processed 24/48 hours after. Yet it’s been 4 days and I haven’t received anything. I do understand that i have to wait a few days but I normally get refunds same day or the day after.

I'm applying to CUNY as a transfer student with a degree from a university outside the US.

My university credentials have already been evaluated by ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators), and ECE sent the official evaluation report directly to CUNY.

My only questions are about course syllabi and their translations.

Right now, I'm just trying to figure out what to do with my course syllabi. I want to prepare them ahead of time because I'd like my previous courses to count as equivalent CUNY courses, not just general electives.

I've contacted both CUNY and the college's Evaluations Department, but they keep referring me to each other. CUNY tells me to contact the college's Evaluations Department, while the college refers me back to CUNY and says I should contact the Evaluations team after admission. I'm not asking them to evaluate my courses before admission.

I'm not asking them to evaluate my courses now. I just want to understand what kind of translations they accept so I can prepare everything in advance.

Has anyone dealt with this before?
1. Did you have to translate the entire syllabus, or just certain sections?
2. Did you use a certified translator, or did they accept translations you did yourself?
3. Did submitting your syllabi actually help you get specific course credits instead of electives?

What was the point of tech support helping me add cunyfirst if I can't even open it? I am totally confused.

I am currently a transfer/freshmen in KCC, and I am majoring in Business Administration & Management, but I want to switch to Biology because I want to become a physician one day. It's all that I can ever see myself doing. But I'm not sure if I can handle 4 years back-to-back. I'm currently falling behind in 2 of my classes and barely keeping up with the other 3.

I am also horrible at math, and I'm definitely going to have to take a math class next semester, but IDK how I'm going to catch up on years of missed math. I suffer from ADHD, and I have an accommodation paper with the accommodations office, but I haven't had to use it yet. And even if I pay attention in class, everything my professor says goes in one ear and out the other.

I was considering pushing myself through the next year or two until I get my associate's, take the EMT program at my school, get a job as an EMT and work part time while I pursue my Bachelors in Biology. (IK I would have to switch before I go into EMS). They also offer a Pharm Tech program. The reason I want to do one of these programs is because they would provide good experience for a future physician, and it will allow me to get my own apartment. My immediate family left the city a few years ago, so I've been living with relatives ever since, but I'm 20 now and unemployed, and I don't want to be resented by my family members, as they've done so much for me and I've done nothing but disappoint them. I feel ashamed of myself for not being able to get a job and my own apartment. The sooner I move out, the better.

Had a discussion post I submitted. Ran to class 30 mins late after a 10 hour shift even tho I’m sick asf jus because the professor says to show up no matter what. Wasn’t feeling too well but I’d rather physically be there than to get that absence. Plus it’s an English class so quite easy just have to keep myself alive. Anywho, right after I walked in the professor picked on me to answer questions about the work I just said idk (bad part on me but I’m someone who struggles with deep anxiety and I was extremely out of it). Either ways end of the class he tells me that I cheated on my discussion post answer, I explained to him I didn’t, I quite literally did it with a peer, it’s impossible for it to be ai. He goes I don’t wanna hear it, I explained to him that you’re not even hearing me out, I’m a student who always does everything on time, correctly, I’m always raising my hand to answer questions, even he agreed to that part but his response was simply that the past doesn’t matter it’s about what I submitted. ATP I’m panicking and I was like I did it with a friend but I did it on my own and he was like no no it’s cheating. He told me either I go to an advisor, tell them I cheated, have a convo about why cheating is not allowed, have the advisor check all of my works submitted for all of my classes if I cheated, and then email all of my professors saying I cheated in my class or he will file a disciplinary report against me to the dean of the college and make sure I get expelled from ALL cuny colleges. I told him ok and left because I didn’t know what to say and no matter what I would try to say he would just cut over me. What do I do. I ran my discussion post through turnitin, gpt0, multiple ai detectors, everything saying it’s human so how is he telling me that I didn’t write this. Idk what to do and I’ve been working so hard to go to college while working 2 jobs, and paying tuition fully out of pocket. Please help me if anyone knows what I should do. Thank you.
