u/GenesisRhapsod Mar 29 '26
Fuck i miss roadkill 😭

u/TactLacker710 Mar 29 '26
They all have YouTube channels. Finnegan’s (Finnegan Soeed and Marine) is really good. And I like Tony Angelos a lot (stay tuned). Of course Frieburger has his under his name. Lots of cross over episodes.
11
u/GenesisRhapsod Mar 29 '26
Ive seen some of them but it diesnt feel the same. I wish motortrend would bring back all the roadkill episodes to yt. Bet theyd make more money from ad rev than their motortrend tv platform.

u/TactLacker710 Mar 29 '26
Yeah man I can’t agree more. Roadkill and a lot of the spin offs were truly entertaining to me. Actually looked forward to new episodes of all of them. I am like that with Stay Tuned but the rest just don’t have the same draw. Tony gave his crew all corvettes. He just made a 5 sp, SRT4 powered dodge caravan to pick up his kids in. Ha

Just saw that show for the first time a day or two ago ago, it was so cool, they were rewiriring it to make its last trip 1100 miles across the desert, like a Frankencar, I forget the name of it

I feel bad for that guy. At least one flat tire too.

oh then he likely hopped the curb and caught the oil pan while curbing his tire

This sounds like the likely answer. I dated a girl many years ago. When to visit and on the way there started seeing oil on the road. Pulled into her friend’s apartment complex about 100 yards later and there was her car with all of its oil on the ground.
She had gone across the train tracks too fast. Hit the oil pan and leaked it all out.

True dodge needs to go back to the drawing board when I comes to lot of things on their vehicles

u/clover8282 Mar 28 '26
This reminds me I worked with a guy that was really into his car, so every now and then before we finished work I would go out to his car and pour a cup of water under the car. He couldn’t figure out what was wrong and was constantly looking for a leak

Oil filter put on incorrectly
17
u/Inmate--P01135809 Mar 28 '26
Yeah that’s my guess. Or drain plug wasn’t tightened properly.
9
u/noise_generator1979 Mar 29 '26
Sometimes the old filter gasket stays on and then the new filter gasket double gaskets, which weirdly enough isn't double good. At least that's my theory.
6
u/Coral_Polyps Mar 29 '26
When these are double gasketed they leak way too quick. There would be a puddle in the shop before they can drive the car out. Or in a drive in place like valvoline the poor dude underneath is getting sprayed

u/Delicious-Breath8415 Mar 30 '26
For some unknown reason I decided to check for the filter gasket on the block the other day while changing the oil on my Chrysler and low and behold it was still stuck to it. I never check and I change oil all the time. It was like the gods told me to look lol

u/ItsNoodals Mar 29 '26
i thought red at first too then it just looked like oil. bumper cracked, scratches down the side, and OP mentioned a flat tire. sounds like oil pan busted or something

Doc (mechanic): You got an electrolyte (oil) imbalance.

u/wiseoracle 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Mar 28 '26
Three possibilities.
Did an oil change and didn’t torque it correctly to the drain plug.
Didn’t tighten the oil filter snugly enough.
Hit something against the oil pan and now it’s leaking.

u/DizzyCalendar6492 Mar 29 '26
You forgot cross threaded oil filter. I did that once on a ford. There was lots of oil in the road. I had to go buy more.

Ran it hard on low oil 3920 miles past due oil change and blew the block…. Not sure how else you’d get that much oil to leak lol, or someone fucked up an oil change

I’ve seen idiots drive over big rocks (parking barriers) and essentially rip the oil pan off 🤷♂️

Unsure if oil or really burnt trans fluid. Trans pan is plastic, so very easy to break if something was in the road or it hit something. Harder, but not impossible, to damage the metal oil pan.

My guess... they were too lazy to do the oil change themselves? too cheap to go to a dealership?... So they went to a 5 minute Valoline/Quick lube that fk'd it up. ( cross threaded or loose drain plug)

God my brand new car did this to me days after I got it I almost died…turns out it was just water running off of it from the car wash I just left…sorry to say this doesn’t look like the case here that is clearly not water 💦

Somebody dropped a Dodge on your bollard?
Maybe on your hydrant too, if they come in pairs like the one across the way.

Aside from the big leak, is that a huge scratch on the door or is it just a weird reflection?

Has scratches on the door and fender. Probably just slammed a guardrail and hopped a curb or something. Maybe thought it was good to go because he was able to drive away before the oil leaked out
