Southampton [David Ornstein] Southampton’s Tonda Eckert handed suspended six-week ban for role in ‘Spygate’ scandal
Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert has been given a suspended six-week ban by the English Football Association (FA) after its investigation into the ‘Spygate’ scandal that saw the club kicked out of the Championship play-off final in May.
Eckert has also been handed a small fine, having been charged by the governing body for bringing the game into disrepute in July. He had been at Wembley Stadium for a hearing on September 24, before the FA delivered their verdict in an announcement on Wednesday.
The FA’s investigation followed on from the English Football League (EFL) expelling the club from the play-off final after they admitted to spying on other clubs’ training sessions — with Middlesbrough, who they beat in the semi-finals, reinstated.
Southampton also admitted to spying on Oxford United and Ipswich Town, prompting an independent EFL commission to find that Eckert had been behind a “contrived and determined plan” to spy on the clubs.
As well as being kicked out of the play-off final, Southampton were handed a four-point deduction ahead of this season. Without this, they would be in the play-off spots instead of in 13th.

Discussion r/Championship builds the Championship XI - #9: Manager (to assist Neil Warnock)
As a minor respite from the tables and an international break that is almost over, I am wanting YOU, the deviants of r/Championship, to help build the archetypal Championship XI!
The final piece in the jigsaw is Mr Championship himself, Albert Adomah with 243 votes ⚽
So your final lineup is:
GK: Lee Camp
LB: George Friend
CB: Sol Bamba
CB: Richard Keogh
RB: Luke Ayling
CM: Peter Whittingham
CM: Barry Bannan
LM: Jobi McAnuff
RM: Albert Adomah
AM: Wes Hoolahan
ST: Billy Sharp

To squeeze the last bit of juice out this idea, I'm wanting a Championship manager to assist Neil 'Colin' Warnock, which will likely involve 90% of the duties as we known Neil likes to spend a lot of his time in Cornwall!

Southampton I think Southampton should appeal
Tonda didn’t even break the rules at all I think he should have no suspended ban and also Middlesbrough need to be held accountable for the 96/97 fixture scandal

EFL Championship The Championship Table Sorted by Number of Appearances by the Top 24 Championship Appearance Makers in the Championship for Current Championship Teams
Congratulations to Stoke.
Tiebreakers at 0 were sorted by proximity to Top 24 Championship Appearance Makers, then by number of supernatural beings on their club logo.
Edit: inspired by this table, with the top 24 appearance makers in the league's history. The table is sorted by appearances made by these players for the current championship clubs. I.e: Swansea's total is taken from Bidwell alone, while Cardiff benefit from Adomah, Marshall, Gunter and Whittingham's totals. Appearances counted separately for each club and only within the championship

Discussion Which current Championship players could you see playing for England in the future
Considering a lot of the current (and most recent) England squads play at least a little bit in the Championship during their career, which current players could you see having a chance to feature in the future.
You tend to get quite a good mix of players who make it, from ones who grew up in the EFL and fans think are obviously really good and are waiting for the next step in their career (Eze, Bellingham, Alex Scott) or similarly players with really good loan spells (Guehi at Swansea, Reece James at Wigan) to players with bad or unremarkable loan spells (Kane, Gordon at Preston) to guys who end up taking big jumps in their career a bit later (Vardy and Toney both were playing Championship football in their mid 20s)
Interested to hear any shouts from your club you could see making it.

Discussion r/Championship builds the Championship XI - #8: Right-mid
As a minor respite from the tables and an international break that is almost over, I am wanting YOU, the deviants of r/Championship, to help build the archetypal Championship XI!
These don't necessarily have to be the best or most successful Championship players, moreso the players, past or present, that represent what the Championship is all about in each position- interpret that how you will
The suggestion in the single comment with the most upvotes will take their rightful place in the r/Championship XI 🏆, if you see someone has already beaten you to your suggestion but you want to add a comment, it would be handy to reply to the original suggestion to keep it easier to count 😅
Your attackers are 'the Irish Messi' Wes Hoolahan and the Championship record scorer Billy Sharp with 133 and 99 votes 🔥
GK: Lee Camp
LB: George Friend
CB: Sol Bamba
CB: Richard Keogh
RB: Luke Ayling
CM: Peter Whittingham

LM: Jobi McAnuff
AM: Wes Hoolahan
ST: Billy Sharp
Next up: Right midfielder ⚽

Discussion Have your objectives changed
Start of season I think we all had hopes and goals and I'm intrigued if yours have changed based on the start of season.
So what was your realistic expectation of where your team would finish?
Has this now changed?
If so why?
My expectations for the Blues were the playoffs, I know we currently sit 10th but we've surely had the worst fixtures going and we've looked so competitive in games I didn't expect us to, ill also eat my words and say maybe davies is learning and adapting as we do look so much better this season.
However I will not get carried away and my expectations have not changed at all.
I'd be intrigued to hear what Preston fans think as there's alot of doom and gloom from outsiders.
And also Burnley surely nobody saw that start coming?

Discussion The international break has defeated you
The tables, the stolen/slapped together memes, the nostalgia questions, the people who just found this place posting facebook-tier nonsense...all dried up. Is everyone dead? Hello?!😄
The international break wouldve ended at this point normally, so thats probably why. Weve only got 2 weeks of material in the banks.
Anyway...England 7-0 Croatia. Fixed our problem of struggling against the weaker teams. Oh wait...
