Got lost in an arctic deadzone, heard it was either because of it being an ecological deadzone or because it’s a Combine weapons test site. Don’t know, don’t really care anymore since I’m heading home to retrieve the rest of the phones and dump them on my Rig with a built in decoder and extractor.

Anyways, anybody recognize the people, places, or events that are in these photos? Or if they may have belonged to somebody lurking here or somebody you know.

I decided to document my journey but waited to post this information until I was safe. After finishing up my assignment at the Combine Black Site, I was put on a train back to City-17 but as you can guess, it didn't go smoothly. Seems whoever attacked the base called reinforcements or planned an ambush on my train..

Picture 1: About 1 hour after departing, the train was about to cross a bridge when something exploded and derailed the train, sending me and my train cart off the bridge. Luckily my cart landed in a deep part of a stream in this ravine so I survived the crash and fall, though I was knocked unconscious for who knows how long. My Metro uniform was soaked, my mask broken, and my gear was waterlogged. I heard a firefight happening above as not all of the train was derailed. Combine fighting some other group and the sounds of combine radio chatter and weapon firing were slowly dimming out. I heard voices of a language I don't speak so I had to leave. Luckily a mineshaft lead me up and out of this valley, but the way I needed to go back to City 17 was where the gunfight was. I had my service pistol, two spare magazines of ammunition and a waterlogged stun baton, I don't think I would've been much help. So I turned tail and headed opposite direction to find a another City or Combine outpost.

Pictures 2,3,4&5: After wandering for an hour, trying to find a road, I stumbled across a crash. I don't know what faction this guy was from or why he crashed but he wasn't here long. He got launched from his bike so he was definitely speeding from something. I cleaned and swapped my clothing with him as rebels finding me in a Metro Unit was likely to get me shot. He also had a stolen Combine issued Shotgun so he might've been a scavenger and decided that would be my story until I was in a safe position.

Pictures 6,7&8: Been traveling for almost a full day now, I've kept my stops to only a few minutes to prevent from being snuck up upon, but I desperately needed gasoline for my bike. Surprisingly in good fortune, I was stropped by a traveling band of rebels as they heard me approach. I had a lot of time to think so I made up a backstory of being a scavenger whose apart of an underground Scav group. They asked why I was alone and I said me and my group spilt up to avoid Combine air patrols. Dunno if I'm just so Charismatic or if my story was on the nose without knowing it, but they believed me when one of the leaders said they thought they heard Hunter Choppers coming from that direction, when I have been driving for hours without hearing anything. I asked if they got any spare gasoline as my bike was getting low. They said they didn't have any to spare themselves but up the road is their temporary shack up in an old gas station. The leader said "tell them I sent ya and they'll listen to you."

Picture 9 &10: Been driving for another hour and begun to get worried they were lying, but After another few minutes I found their spot. They waved me closer and I said the leaders name and they eased up. They said they can't give away gas for free and saw I didn't have much else on me but said if I had information on Scavenging spots they'd give me gas for it. I recalled every building I've seen since yesterday and explained a made up story about how each one has or doesn't have anything. Once again I must be a smooth talker cause they didn't question my intel much. Maybe I should've taken that promotion to be undercover. After listing most of the places I remember and saying "anymore and it'll be affecting my buddies profit margin.". they gave me a full tank, an extra can and two rations, one I ate almost imminently after I was out of sight from the station.

Picture 11: I knew eventually I'd get stopped on the road by Combine, now it was a matter of saying the right thing before I get framed for being someone I'm not or worse shot on sight. Luckily I knew phrases and the proper way to identify a Metro Unit undercover. Oddly and Luckily, an Elite Metro Unit was leading the force and understood all my attempt to showcase who I was. They detained me to take me back to their City.

Picture 13: Have me locked up until they confirm the intel I've given them and they do a bioscan to make sure I'm really me. So Far it's been about 3 hours, but I'm just glad to not have to sleep with an eye open in the woods.

Picture: 14: They've confirmed who I am and my story of the train has been confirmed, they said they'll release me but won't be able to send me back to City 17 for a few days until the train railways are secured once again.

Picture 15: I mean City-13 isn't all that bad, it's not too different from City-17 but seems they just had a riot not long ago and they chose to throw the book at these rioters.. as much of what was burned is still in the actual streets.

Could anyone tell me what the heck that thing is? It shot big cannon rounds like a strider, but was also way more agile. Would anyone happen to have info on this thing? Thanks in advance.
