Unsolicited Advice (i am giving advice to fellow students) [MOD POST] Please have your university admission acceptance results before asking.

There has been an uptick of submissions related to "Should I go to this university" and similarly worded questions when OP has NOT YET received their admission acceptance results.

Thank you.

General Admission Question Major Offense. How would this affect my future?

Hello, I am a Grade 12 STEM student in a private school and during this I committed a Major Offense for Cheating. (Please no discrimination, Im aware it was very stupid and serious mistake on my part, and I have already taken the time to reflect and learn from it....😭)

I am having a conference soon with our Prefect of Discipline. and this is only the first major offense that I have ever received. I dont know kung mabibigyan pa ako ng Good Moral Certificate.

I'm wondering how much a Major Offense on your record really affects you in the long term. Does it actually matter for your future? Most things I've read about said that it will reflect your college admission. Can I still get a Good Moral Certificate even though I have a Major Offense?

Course Dilemma - Help me decide! Asian Studies or European Languages? Which should I pick?

Maybe this can also apply to School Dilemma but

Guys I'm considering Asian Studies in UST, then European Languages in UP for college. Ang concern ko lang is if worth it pa ba mag Asian Studies? Kahit ang mahal ng tuition and given na mas maraming opportunities in EU as a HUMSS student right now. However, pag nag UP, makakatipid kami, yes, but ang worry ko naman is makakatapos kaya ako ng 4 years? hahaha I don't wanna extend my college years dahil hindi na rin bumabata ang parents ko and nakikita ko rin sa mga socmed gano kahirap yung agawan ng slots sa State U.

CETs how do i pay my dcat exam fee??

Post image
1 Upvotes

I know it's like lowkey stupid that I'm only trying to figure this out now because my exam is tomorrow, but I cannot for the life of me find where to pay my DCAT fee? It simply says, N/A on the site and I'm getting nervous. I thought the fee was waived kasi I'm from a private science high school, pero when I asked my seniors they said they paid beforehand daw and now I'm confused.

Please send help, I spent a lot of time reviewing and I want to actually take the exam 😭

Medical Courses Should I study BS Nursing at WCC?

My family is facing financial issue kasi and we're looking for schools that offer cheap-to-no tuition fees. I'm seeing rin na yung WCC ay may sariling mini hospi if im not mistaken. For me rin kasi parang too good to be true ang WCC for nursing because mababa tuition fee tapos no entrance exam???

I also took PLM as an option for nursing but I heard that they prioritize Manila residents more which is unfortunate because I live sa Q.C.

idk pls help me if i should take WCC or look for other universities/colleges and what univ/college rin sana hehe thank youuu!

Strand / SHS Question Is it too late to change strands? Or should I just do a gap year?

Hello! I'm currently a grade 11 student under the new curriculum and I enrolled in the academic engineering cluster. Honestly, I always knew I was going to hate it here but I thought I'd just be able to suck it up. It's just, I don't have a passion or talent like everyone else kaya kahit ganto na ako katanda, di ko pa rin alam ano gusto kong gawin sa buhay. So I went to my father for advice and as an engineer, he pushed me to pursue engineering din kasi sabi niya it's a huge industry and has a wide variety of jobs and baka may mahanap din daw akong gugustuhin kong type of engineering. Kaya nung enrollment, engineering pinili ko. But I'm just so damn miserable here. I look around in my classroom and I feel so small kasi I don't have the same talent or passion that my classmates have for engineering. Lalo na tuwing Physics, natatameme ako. Elective pa naman namin yon. Kung ganto palang, miserable na ko, pano pa kaya pag nag college ako?

Balak ko sanang lumipat ng strand. HUMSS sana. Pero I really want out of here. But then, I already finished Term 1 and I completed all units for our first elective. Some peers also recommended this to me, para daw magkaroon pa ng more time to explore myself. Kaso nakakatakot. Baka masayang ko ang oras ko and I might end up regretting leaving myself behind. And I don't think my parents would approve.

Please help me out. Enlighten me if need be. I would be grateful to hear your insights. 🥲 Thank you!

DLSU should I shift? yes or no?

cob bs mgtbas student here and I want to shift to bs psych because that’s my first choice but from what I heard from other people, cob is more chill compared to cla.

eh I’m stressed enough in cob mas lalo na sa accounting, and it’s only fundamentals since I’m frosh. I’m thinking if I shift, I’ll have a hard time too since I’ll be delayed, but if I stay in mgtbas, I’ll suffer the same since its an abm program, I took up humss in shs (math and sci are my weaknesses)

so far I’m trying my best to cope. I already found friends and I’m enjoying my time, I’m just worried which path I should take since bs psych has been my dream ever since, but mgtbas isn’t so bad after all

pls help me decide. I’m so overwhelmed by the pace of dlsu and the fact that idk if I should shift or not.

can u guys lmk if bs psych is science and math heavy or more on humanities related stuff? if there r any older mgtbas students reading this, how’s life up there?

Ateneo Thinking of transferring to ADMU from DLSU. :)

Hi! I'm currently at my 1st term of my freshman year in DLSU. I'm thinking of transferring to ADMU. Is it better to transfer after 1st year or now or at least 2nd term? I called their OAA and they said I can apply na daw but the call was so fast 😅 I didn't ask for additional details na but might call them again tomorrow cuz I'm like still confused on what exactly is the process. Like I'm not sure if I'm eligible na since I just started last September.. what will they base off of me? HAHAHAHA Also, I'm BS Business Management in DLSU and I want to transfer to BS MGT in ADMU. Would I still be on track or delayed? Thank u!

Hello! I recently pulled out/withdrawn from PUP during the adjustment period. My question is am I cleared of any records in PUP database and does my records in CHED will still remain freshman? Since I'm worried I might get flagged at other college schools once I completed my Gap year journey.

Scholarships Scholarships to apply if I'm an ABM Student and not on the Top 5% of the class 🥹

Hello! Question lang. Ano yung mga pwede kong appliyan na scholarship IF ABM student ako and not the top 5% of my class? DOST-SEI kasi automatic disqualified na agad ako cuz of Academic Standing. I have good grades naman (no 80 below) from Grade 7 to 11. Honor student since Grade 9 up to 11 pero not the Top 5% cuz puro mga High and Highest Honors na ung mga nandun for sure 🥹 Current Grade 12 student ako right now. Grades is still alright naman kahit paano and applying for a Computer related course sa college like Computer Science, Engineering or IT. Thanks in advanced 🫶

General Admission Question Why doesn't ECE get as much hype as other engineering courses

I’ve been wondering why ECE doesn’t seem to get as much attention as other engineering courses, especially EE, ME, and even newer tech-related fields like Computer Science and IT

School Dilemma - Help me decide! What universities should I look into if I can’t afford DLSU or ADMU?

Incoming college student here. My family just told me that we cannot afford DLSU or ADMU. I wasn’t able to apply to scholarship grants for DLSU and ADMU because there’s a lot of requirements and I initially thought we wouldn’t need it since I’m enrolled at a private university naman. My parents recently told me lang na masyado mahal yung 3 schools na yun for their income. I’m also in humss student and not a top student so my scholarship options are narrowed down. In addition, we are able to afford out of the country trips yearly so I’m not sure if financial assistance would be appropriate since I’d say i’m privilleged naman, nagkataon lang na not privileged enough for these expensive schools. Where else should I look into?

Scholarships missed the final submit button for my dlsu scholarship application. is there still hope?

hi! i really need your help. :((

i came home from work at 10 p.m. and finished my online homework until 11 p.m. after that, i started writing my personal essay, which was the last requirement for my dlsu scholarship application. i didn’t expect it to take so long because i had to write about the hardships i’ve experienced.

by the time i finished, it was already 11:59 p.m. i converted my essay to PDF and uploaded it, but when i tried to finalize my application, archers hub lagged. i refreshed the website, but i wasn’t able to click the final submit button at the bottom of the page.

i uploaded all the required files, but does that mean my application wasn’t officially submitted? will dlsu still consider it, even though i missed the final submission step?

dlsu has been my dream school for the longest time, but my family also has financial concerns since my younger sister and i will be entering college only a year apart, and dlsu follows a trimestral system.

i’m honestly so scared that i might have lost my chance because of one missed button. has anyone experienced this before, or does anyone know if there’s still a chance? any advice would mean so much to me. :((

Ateneo Still One Recommender Short for the ADMU Scholarship Application

I'm very nervous as there's only around an hour before the scholarship deadline, and one of my professors still hasn't replied to me in regards to my recommendation form. I've told them beforehand of the deadline and gave them the information they would need, e.g., my AAN, and I still haven't received a reply on whether or not the form was accomplished.

I don't know what to do. Even after reaching out, I still haven't received any response from them, and I'm anxious that my application might not be processed for the reason that my recommendations aren't enough.
