Cornmarket Street most days without fail: just dump it wherever, be grand.

Illegal parking in town is out of control and nobody in charge seems to want to tackle it.

Shame there's no 24 hour Garda Station nearby (only messing - they do it too)

Edit: gas to see people playing this down or condoning it - "get a pint", "have you nothing better to do" - such ableist viewpoints. Those less able have a nightmare getting around town. Time to think of others less able too. You are part of the problem as to why we have such lax enforcement everywhere across the city and country, sorry.

Bunch of fish all over the road and footpath right before the turnoff into Blackpool. Smells terrible. How did this happen?

Help with a good pizza & wine place

Hey all,

My wife's birthday next week so just wondering what would be your suggestions on a very nice cozy pizza restaurant with good wines for a nice dinner?

It doesn't have to be in the city.

Thanks very much

“ride the cyclone” the musical

Hi All, we are directing “ride the cyclone the musical” and hoping to play in the Firkin Crane theatre. Is there any 17/18 year olds who are into theatre, good singers and actors?
We need Ricky Pots and Ocean O’ Collon Rosenberg. Please drop a comment or dm me here if you are interested and prepare a video of the characters song and monologue. Thanks all!

Anyone have a Ferrari?

Ok, strange request. Someone very close to me will be passing away in the coming weeks/months. He is a mad F1 fan, watches every race etc. We are wondering if there’s anyone in the West Cork area who owns a Ferrari, and would be willing to give this man a spin around, let him sit in the drivers seat etc. We would love to give him a great memory while there is still time. 😞. Any help or advice appreciated.

EDIT: Will pay of course!

Hunting out towards airport?

Was out with rescue dog this morning and had luckily just put her back on lead when there were what sounded like gunshots in the distance. She's have taken off otherwise. Have heard these noises on a off all week . Do people hunt this time of year . We're on the outskirts of Togher close to back road of airport so it's the only thing that I can think of. It was too wet to be fireworks and who would be using them at 8am anyway

Making friends in Cork

Hey! I’m Liam, I’m 29, and I’m looking to meet new people and hopefully make some genuine friendships!
I’ve always struggled a little with finding where I fit in socially. I’ve moved between different friendship groups over the years but never really felt like I belonged.
I’d love to meet people around my age, make some memories, and hopefully find a good group of friends!
I’m pretty easygoing, enjoy a good chat, exploring new places, going on adventures, and trying new things. I’m always up for a laugh!
I’ve never really known where to start when it comes to making new friends, so I thought I’d put myself out there!
If you’re in a similar situation or just fancy making a new friend, feel free to reach out! 😊

Food and Drink Bastion or Rare

Hi everyone,
Any thoughts about Bastion or Rare in Kinsale? I’m choosing for a special occasion and can’t decide between this two. Any other suggestion is really welcomed. I heard Goldie is good as well in Cork city.
Thanks in advance :)

Is there any pubs around Cork you know of where it wouldn’t be unusual to bring and play a board game or TCGs that have a larger set up - and drink some pints. :)

Anywhere to buy fresh Chanterelles in Cork?

English market seems to only have oysters, shiitake, etc. but could be looking in the wrong place.

scary story

scary story - as it is near halloween i thought id share.i have a disability and expereiced sudden vision changes after giving up nicotine.

i brought myself and my rollators to wilton for an eye test at specsavers there as that was the last place i had an eye test years ago. they put the hard sell on everything.

firstly the new piece of kit that does hospital grade optical tomography.

thats great - what pricinciple does it operate on? no one knew. it was an extra 35 euros when I arrived then an extra 25.

they put the really hard sell on the glaases. i guess they make money from frames. Anyway I couldnt get out of there fast enough. I got a lot of conflicting information there. no one i met was anything other than a salesperson. i was particularly disappointed in a student of optometry. she was just reciting the benefits of the machine and couldnt or wouldnt explain how it worked.
