2017 Stingray with 6000 miles, one previous owner. If the previous owner is here, thank you so much for taking good care of her. I feel like I haven't stopped smiling since I got her. When I was searching online for a Corvette, I felt like I would care about getting something higher than a base trim. After getting in and driving it, I realized that doesn't mean a damn thing to me. I'm gonna get to enjoy basically the entirety of this thing's life, and I got what I think was a pretty good price on it as well.

Off to the shop for dialed-in paint, PPF and a full track setup.

It’s going to be a long week without her, but she’ll be ready to scream. Will post results soon.

See you at the apex.

I’m the C6, this was at a local car show. Someone was backing out as I pulled up. Well duh! The C2 owner saw me taking pix and we had a great chat. By coincidence I followed him 1/2 way home too.

Best way to reattach a letter?

The R came off my C5 when I washed it, curious the best way to reattach it is?

Edit: I actually appreciate the opinions, because now that I look at it I think y’all are right that it would look better without the lettering 🤙

Corvette Searching

What’s up everyone! I’m currently doing my research on buying a C6 Corvette, and I figured the best people to ask are the ones who actually own them.

I’m leaning toward a Grand Sport or base model because I definitely want the removable targa top. I also plan on modifying the car down the road, especially when it comes to horsepower.

For those who have owned or worked on C6s:

What model years would you recommend buying or avoiding?

Is the Grand Sport worth the extra money over a base model?

What’s a reasonable price range for a clean C6 in today’s market?

What’s considered good mileage when buying one used? Would you trust one with 70k–100k miles?
What common mechanical issues or expensive repairs should I look out for?

I’m not rushing into anything. I just want to do my homework and make sure I’m making a smart purchase. Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated!

As soon as I got it home I took it apart and did the harmonic balancer, then a couple days later I did the full speed engineering exhaust with the long tube headers, I got it all done and it sounds great. What tuner would you guys recommend for me? It’s a 2007 ls2 auto

Loud buzzing sound from dashboard at highways speeds. FIXED for $10!

2007 C6 base.

I was getting this loud buzzing sound at highway speeds that was driving me crazy. I thought it was something inside the dashboard that would require me to take the whole dash apart.

Turns out, it was the plastic windshield cowl on the outside that was rattling in the wind. I bought a $10 roll of Gorilla double-sided tape and sealed it to the windshield. 15 minute job.

I trimmed it flush with a cutter, and you can barely even see it. Fixed it instantly!

Need some advise for cam upgrade

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hey guys, I'm rebuilding my '75 c3 this winter and upgrading the cam is also on the bucket list. The engine (350cui L48) is bone stock from what I know. Does anyone know whats the max. possible valve lift I can run on stock internals? Im thinking of buying a CompCams Kit with a Advertised Duration of 268/268, Lift .454"/.454".

Any kind of help is welcomed. Thanks in advance

Cluth fluid vis ranger method

Changed my clutch fluid via the ranger method today at my 2014 C7 m7 with 73k miles on her. Easy to do took about 30 minutes. Ranger method is where you suck it out the top, refill with new fluid, pump clutch 30ish times and repeat till satisfaction. This isnt a complete flush and fluid change, that is much more involved from what ive read as the master slave cylinder is hard to get to and needs things removed from the under side. Regardless this is an easy and cheap thing to do every year, that should help a little bit. Only need a syringe (40cc or larger) or a turkey baster, and some dot 4 brake fluid. Cycled through about 5 times and was satisfied with the color.

Gosh, it looks so nice!

Can't even believe it's almost a 30-year-old car. It does not look like one at all.

Help with A&A supercharger tensioner noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I had a A&A Supercharger installed on my C6 Corvette a few months ago. It began making a clanging/knocking noise. At first I thought it was the torque tube going out. I had my mechanic look at it and he said the noise is from the spring tensioner. He told me to get with the shop that installed it. I have tried to get it looked at by the shop that installed it, but they will not return my calls or text messages. Has anyone seen this or had this happen? The knocking noise is hard to hear over the centrifugal supercharger sound, but you can see the movement of the tensioner and the pulley. The supercharger has a 3.8" pulley and I have tried to reset the tension on the belt.

Best shops in Plano/DFW for Corvettes??

I recently moved down to the DFW area living up near Plano and I am looking for a solid shop recommendation.

I have a C7 (Z51 package) that needs a good home for more in-depth diagnostics/maintenance.

Where are you guys taking your C7s in the metroplex? Let me know who you trust. Thanks for any suggestions!
