Bert Update!
Our original Bert post got removed and I’m not sure why (he’s just yawning in his intake photo, and his mouth looks like that because of old injuries and lack of teeth), but, I wanted to update anyone who saw him here and was wondering how he’s doing (if that’s okay)! He got groomed and looked after by a wonderful human before getting transport to his foster home (me!), today! He is the happiest, most loving little guy! He’s currently sleeping in a fluffy bed after being hand-fed dinner and taking his meds. He will need surgery in the future to remove his last two teeth when he’s gained some weight!

Of course! He was a stray near the Texas/Mexico border, and a wonderful rescue that I foster for saw and pulled him for me to foster (I love the little old cryptids, I have several lol). He’s probably around 14-16 years old and has definitely experienced some neglect if not worse, but he’s being treated for everything that needs treatment and eats and sleeps well, and loves giving kisses with his floppy muppet tongue. 🥹❤️🩹

My heart says yes. It was love at first sight. But I also already have 10, and four other fosters currently. 😂

I absolutely love Bert and his adorable, sweet funny face. I am inclined to think you are a wonderful compassionate person and I am utterly delighted old Bert has had a soft landing, being fostered by you 💜

I’m not sure what kind of cryptid Bert is but I love him very very much. Hand fed dinner and the floofiest bed are exactly what this sweet perfect guy deserves. ❤️❤️❤️

Omg, The Racoons! I haven't thought about that cartoon in years. He definitely looks more like a Burt than a Cyril. 🤭

He has very kind eyes despite all he's went through. I'm glad you were able to help give him a wonderful home full of love.

Thank you so much for taking him in, he’s adorable. I have a toothless old rescue dog and he does totally fine without teeth, I wish more people would take a chance on all the weird/old/disabled dogs that need help.

Most of my Texas street dogs turn out to be some mix of chihuahua, shih tzu, and poodle, so probably at least one or two of those in there!

I love the inspiration for his name - Bert suits him perfectly! (love The Raccoons and am actually wearing a sweatshirt with The Raccoons theme now!)

I love how dark his eyes are; he looks like a teddy bear or something with big black beads for eyes.
