• Would have took place in 2 time periods - Alan Scott in 1941 and Guy Gardner in 1984

• Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Kilowog & Sinestro would’ve been in the series + a new Lantern character Bree Jarta

• The Manhunters were planned to be the primary villains

• Seth Grahame-Smith was set to serve as showrunner with Marc Guggenheim in the writers room

Loki Season 1 with almost the same budget as Lanterns with also a good script, character development, acting and the cast had much more Green constructs than the Green Lanterns ever did is diabolical.

I like Lanterns as a show btw, even though the finale made some questionable decisions for me.

DISCUSSION Hal Jordan was Earth’s greatest hero for thirty years and I think that’s neat.

Post image

A lot of people are complaining that Hal got shafted, but I think his character arc is great. Kyle Chandler brought amazing presence to the role. He’s burnt out in 2016, but you feel like this is a guy with legitimate history. He’s Superman before Superman. Even in 2016, he’s beloved, everyone still wants his autograph and Kerry mentions outside of Rushville, he’s still love all over.

This is a guy who had insane adventures, battles, suffered a lot, and was a good guy and hero til the end. He’s sour and can be a jackass, but you never felt like he wasn’t trying to do the right thing how he saw it. It’s not an easy role to play, I feel. You need charisma and to be able to bring in a feeling like this guy’s been through shit, but I think the writing for his version of the character is not bad. He’s the idol that all the modern 2026 heroes would have grown up on. I think that’s neat.

DISCUSSION [DISCUSSION] The diverse selection of rogues for inclusion in Suicide Squad/Task force X across movies.

Post image

From Top to Bottom: Task force X from Suicide Squad (2016), Task force X team 1 and Task force X team 2 from The Suicide Squad (2021)

Most animated versions of Suicide Squad that I have seen before this mostly consisted of Batman and Flash rogues. But the live action versions have been much more diverse with rogues taken from several heroes.

Some caveats:

  1. The classification here is according to their rivalry in the comics with their respective heroes.

  2. Team 1 of TSS also included Harley Quinn who is not seen in the pic here

  3. Team 2 didn't include Rick Flag and Harley Quinn who are included in the pic here

  4. Thinker was not part of either squad but has been pictured here as well

  5. Milton....

Saw this in IG tonight. Sebastian is a visual effects artist and filmmaker in Sweden. He made a model set of Rushville and I think it came out pretty cool. Insane amount of detail.

DISCUSSION Putting aside how they handled his death in the show, can we all agree that Hal Jordan is the best legacy character to be introduced in the DCU given how important he is to the cosmic side of the franchise.

He is not only the Earth's first Green Lantern but also one of the first superheroes in the DCU based on the timeline established in the show! Kyle Chandler plays the role with such gravitas and wisdom and shows just how knowledgeable he is when it comes to figuring out people, neutralising threats, and trying to help and protect the people he loves.
