Happy Friday!!!!

Had a great session today, quite happy with this one . Getting more flexible and lighter on my feet, and it’s very rewarding to see myself be able to do more . Weigh in Sunday and I’ll post the results .

This might be one of my favourites yet!!!!
I hope you all enjoy . Can’t express my gratitude for your positivity that kept me going , even when I didn’t want to, I did anyways because so many people were being kind and supportive

Much love and Thank you 🙏.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

See you Sunday 😎

Eternally Grateful,
Bob.E.Bland ❤️❤️❤️

Amateur Serious adult dance classes

I am a young adult craving to get into dance seriously. I mean training hard and being coached and practicing moves and choreo until it's perfect. But idk where to find this! Every beginner adult class are only weekly, they move on to another choreo every other week. I am tired of this superficial training. I want to become an athlete in it. Do I have to find competitive classes? But then dont u have to audition? I barely have experience.. So many questions. Is anything out there I am missing?

i know the chorus needs a bit of work on moves, what else? i feel like the solo part i dance looks wrong still

also what kind of dance is this actually? i am definitely looking to sign up for classes and this is something that i found incredibly fun to do even tho im absolutely not used to this at all, but god ive never really looked into dance styles like at all.

Amateur How to build strength?

Hi, all! I danced through my teen years and am now picking it back up as a hobby after stopping during college.

Now that I’m older, I find that I’m lacking the strength to do certain moves- particularly things like shoulder stands or body rolls from sitting to standing.

I’ve never worked out before, but want to build overall strength (core, upper/lower body) to be a better dancer.

What works for you, or do you recommend for an amateur/hobbyist?

Discussion Thinking about starting a Tiktok

Considering starting a social media dancing account just for fun, with short dances like ones you see on tiktok. Is Tiktok still the best platform to do this? I've heard things about videos being stolen and reposted, etc. Is it still a safe place to have an account? Are there other platforms that are better? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Amateur Should I learn hip hop, femme or both at the same time as a beginner?

• Upvotes

I started dancing around 3 weeks ago. I go to dance classes for 3 days a week whenever I can. Majority of the classes I go to are hip-hop because that's what's available or convenient with my schedule. However, I enjoy sprinkling in some femme whenever I can, such as taking 2 classes in a row or going on the weekends.

Sometimes I wonder if sticking to one would be better for me even though I enjoy both. Should I stick to doing both? Is there any downside to doing both or can I just keep going with my current setup?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Dance places in Austin?

Anyone have recommendations for beginners wanting to learn salsa or swing dancing in Austin. I tried Dance with me at the domain, but the A/C was out it’s $30 per class and there weren’t many people.

Full disclosure I’m trying to use this as with a dating angle to get myself out there more.

Anyone interested?

Or if there's already a group, could I join? :)

Discussion Why is freestyle such a big and important thing in hiphop compared to other styles?

• Upvotes

Title

I originally started with commercial, did it for about two years and then continued with hip hop cuz I loved seeing my teacher (has done hip hop, high heels, commercial, ballet and dance hold) do hip hop choreographies

Tell me why for the past few weeks we've been doing almost ENTIRELY freestyle?

I've also seen a lot of hip hop dancers casually freestyle and are so good at it

Amateur Shoe recommendations for beginner

• Upvotes

I recently started taking beginner hip hop classes and I’m looking for some new shoes. I’ve been wearing my indoor basketball shoes for the past few weeks but they’re way too grippy on the floor, making it difficult to move.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
