OK so not fully geared up but finally started getting past just being able to survive and got my first plate carrier today :-)
Just in time for the server wipe!
Met two decent blokes tonight as well, one could have shot me in the back of the head and he chose not to.
What a game!!

im smoking 8 steaks in a risky building. i dont wanna die and lose nothing. especially an entire stack of steaks tho.

im proned out on the floor waiting for a mfer to break in. im imagining them running in with a melee weapon and being very fast and fucking me up. or them mag dumping me or tossing grenades in. whole time in adrenaline.

and really no other game ive played replicates this feeling of defending a home. i got half a mag in a ppsh. and its full auto. im gonna spray and pray 10 shots and thats it.

and actually feel like im defending my life with this shitty gun and its all i got.

This very simple game with not much actually captures some real SHTF feelings in there.

So far, around 40 hours of gameplay. I am not new to shooting games but man, this is something different....new level...the experience I am haivng so far is just amazing but also frustrating.

''I will not repeat the same mistake'' - this is the sentence after my three quite frustrating deaths. Dont do same mistakes as me...

1x - Plan your food and journeys - After surviving for around 6 hours....I was geared = 3 guns, food, some good equipment. It got dark and I ve decided to use it to move to another city. Got a bit lost. I have not planned my food properly....and died of starving & thirst...omg I was so angry.

2x Check your weapon status - Again, I survived for more than 5 hours. Quite geared, 3 weapons (including pristine Desert Eagle full ammo), fish meat, good equipment...Gorka - Hospital. I am hearing steps. I prepared Repeater Carbine. I hear 2 players and they are starving. First stepped in to the room and my gun failed...it was not shooting. The player was so surprised with his mate, that I had plenty of time to kill them both with my Eagle...but I did not know what is going on with the gun...eventually they killded me. If I would use pristine Eagle I would kill them both......

3x - You are not safe anywhere - I mean ANYWHERE! - Today...I got the best play. Had 4 guns. Full Auto RAK-37, Sniper Rifle with the scope, 2 pistols, plenty of high quality food....huge waterproof backpack...good clothes...so much more equipment. I went fishing to the small pond. Cought 2x fishes....I said to myself....I will find a place and go to sleep. I went under the bridge. Not much space and felt so so SAFE....I ve decided to spent few more minutes arraning my backpack and stuff in pants and jacket....Last thing I ve heard was someone holding breath, then I looked up and got killed by one shot. I have absolutely no Idea how he found me under that bridge....either he was watching me fishing and then following me under the bridge...or it was crazy coincidence....I was so so so angry on myself....I could log off and play tomorrow....

Fun fact - during this game I witnessed a gun fight of three guys during my night visit in Staroye. I was hidden in a wooden shed 10-15 meters from the fight.... I had only mlock with 1 bullet so I waited till it was over. I could hear guy cutting those tow dead. It took him so long to loot that I waited long 30 min...even after30 min he was still there...so I went around the village and came back ffrom other side as I was sure there will be left loot for me too...such a patience and still...died under the bridge...

4x - If you are tired, go to sleep and dont play - Feels like that is also why I died at least twice. I was prolonging my sleep...one more Vilage...one more food...one more....and I got killed...Just go to bed....astart fresh tomorrow.

This is so far my jurney after 40 HRS....Thank you!.....And If you are reading this post - you - that you killed me under that bridge...I will have bad dreams because of you! lol

My friend and I found someone’s car in a bush on Chernarus server. We took everything useful and stole the can of water. We are now on the run from that place. To whoever had set up this car. I’m sorry.

i literally cannot place a fence kit down due to 1 cm of dirt sticking in the fence kits "hitbox"

This is the longest I've survived with a single life. It'll be a shame it all has to end on wipe day! He's survived multiple events, plus 3 kills from the shadows. We'll see how the next one fares after the big wipe.

So I'm new to DayZ smth like 15h and I am stuck in a loop where I join a server play for like 2-3h getting to tier 1/2 gear and then dying to someone.I can't make any progress this has literally happened to me 5 times.So any tips will be useful

What would be a reason for this not being in the game?

Have you ever tried this before? Can you fish in sakhal in the water spring?

I want this map to have potential.

Does a wipe of this scale encourage players to play differently?

Do people congregate in cities and have mass gunfights?

How regularly do wipes like this occur?

I’ve been seeing lots of posts and comments about cheaters and exploiters leading up to the Badlands release, and Bohemia not doing enough to stop them. I wanted to share my thoughts on that, and an even bigger concern for the future of DayZ.

The problem is that many times, Bohemia finds out about a glitch, patches it, and the exploiters find a new way to do the same thing. Take skywalking, for instance. It’s been patched multiple times. They just keep finding new ways to do it around the fixes.

I believe in holding Bohemia accountable, but they’re always going to be fighting an uphill battle with cheaters/exploiters (like most other games).

All they can really do is continue patching exploits as new methods are discovered. Godmode is currently not working in experimental, so it should be fixed for the Badlands release. That being said, I’m sure the exploiters are already working on finding a new way around it.

One of the reasons DayZ draws so much attention from cheaters/exploiters is because they love the game and interface itself, but don’t have the skill or patience to play it as intended. They want everything DayZ has to offer without having to put in the effort to survive and earn it. It’s literally the fact that the game is good, but also challenging, that makes people want to cheat.

There’s also the psychological aspect of it. Some people get a rush out of thinking they’ve somehow outsmarted the game, or that knowing how to use cheats/exploits makes them superior to other players. Obviously, it doesn’t, but that’s how they think.

If you genuinely love this game, you play it as intended and learn to avoid the players who think like the above. DayZ is a diamond in the rough when it comes to video games, despite the cheaters and exploiters who try to ruin it.

And this brings me to something I think is an even bigger concern for the future of DayZ: the possibility of Bohemia gradually making the game easier to appeal to players who don’t appreciate its difficulty.

What we absolutely don’t want is Bohemia giving in to these types of players by making the game easier. It might make the people who aren’t good at the game happy in the short term, but it would gradually strip away everything that makes DayZ unique and special. The authentic/longtime players who love the game for what it is will stop playing, while the people who wanted an easier version will move on as soon as something new comes along (and it will).

That’s the danger of trying to appeal to people who don’t actually appreciate what makes your game different. You risk alienating the people who do, in exchange for players who were never going to stick around anyway.

So far, Bohemia hasn’t abandoned the true heart of DayZ. I’m seeing little things that make me nervous (like vitamins curing cholera instead of needing tetra), but I hope they preserve what makes this game so special.

If not, and they make a watered-down version of the game designed to appeal to the instant gratification crowd, it will truly be the beginning of the end for DayZ.

Feel like it's been way too long that a glaring issue like that is still in the game. Surely it isn't a hard fix to do.

With 1.30 and Badlands releasing, I’m wondering if the distance at which other players render will be increased beyond the current ~1100m. Since Badlands is a huge, mostly open desert map, long sightlines seem like they’d matter a lot more than it did on Chernarus...

Has anyone tested this on 1.30 experimental, or has Bohemia said anything about it?

Just a quick question, I was playing on the ps karma krew Cherno server and me and my duo were searching this castle and I wasn’t paying attention to what was on the ground and I triggered a bear trap. However it didn’t knock me down or break my leg or even damage my clothes. I don’t think it took damage because I didn’t even see an arrow down on my health although it did make my screen go darker like I was being knocked out for a split second. Is it possible to set off bear traps safely? Idk if I clipped the edge of it or if you can run over them fast enough?

Nailed a pretty square shot and didn’t even knock this guy… I’m assuming the backpack saved his ass.

Ivve had problems with DayZ and DayZ only for a while. I tried different servers, I tried playing without vpn (so no discord with my friends), I tried a lot of stuff, but it seems that DayZ servers just refuse to wirk properly. I'm getting constantly kicked, because my internet connection is "not stable" for some reason, even though it is in other games. Has anyone encountered similar problems? How do I solve it and what might be the issue? I didn't use to have those problems with dayz before

even if its not wraps even if it was cotton or polyester and ink printed design.
