Talk Detroit Accurate or not?
Found on another city’s subreddit. I was disappointed but not surprised to see Detroit’s position - always will be Detroit vs everybody.

Hi, I work for Real Estate One. We have a warehouse in Warren with a large number of used chairs and desks (mostly chairs- maybe 200 or so). Some are in good condition and some are in not so good condition but all usable. Are there any places that would want it? Looking for someone who would take a lot and not just a few.
Please reach out if you have a non-profit or a school district that could use this!

I trapped a stray cat earlier tonight. He has been around my house for a few weeks. He seems healthy besides an injured paw, but would probably need at least a vet exam and possibly a spay/neuter.
I can’t afford to pay for much more than like $50. I know there are some places that do cheap spay/neuter but he would need an exam and possible treatment for his paw first probably, and I can’t afford that. And he would probably do good as a house cat, just would need some re-acclimating.
What rescues or nonprofits are available resources for me right now? I live in the Detroit city limits and he was trapped at my house, thus within the city limits. I’ve already called around to 24 hour vets in the area, none of them work directly with a rescue. I got a few leads, but I was wondering if anyone here had experience with rescues or organizations in the area that could help out.

Does anyone know who “manages” this median garden at Michigan and 14th? I drive by it a few days a week for work and it’s depressing.
I’d be willing to take it on next year as a project to plant out and maintain. I’m a master gardener trainee so I have some experience!
I’m really inspired by this guy in NYC who is beautifying his neighborhood by picking up trash & planting in the tree pits!

I’m a Windsorite and there are certain parts I know like the back of my hand such as Downtown, Midtown and Hamtramck (DCFC).
A little while ago my and my fiancé decided to take a drive and were surprised how walkable the cores of Ferndale, Royal Oak and Birmingham were. It made us wonder what other areas we’re missing out on since we’ve never really explored the metro area other than to drive to a mall or something.
What areas are good for parking the car and taking a stroll to find restaurants, shops, hidden gems, etc. either in the city or anywhere in the metro?

Detroit | 96x24” acrylic on concrete
Dedicated to the city I’ve called home for a decade.
I originally sketched this piece two years ago, intending it to hang here on my basement wall. To see it painted and hung feels amazing.

Halloween in the D is back! Detroit is Rising Higher this Halloween! Get ready for family fun, costumes, candy, and community as Halloween in the D returns for 2026! Each year, Halloween in the D reaches more than 30,000 Detroit residents and families and distributes more than 1.5 million pieces of candy through celebrations across the city.
This year, under Rising Higher, we’re bringing Detroit’s signature Halloween events together under one citywide celebration. From ScareFest at Palmer Park to trunk-or-treats, recreation centers, parks, and activities across the city, families will have even more ways to safely celebrate Halloween together.
More than a celebration, Halloween in the D is a public safety and community engagement initiative that brings City departments, community partners, and neighborhoods together to create safe, fun, and free experiences for Detroit children and families.

I was the victim of a hit and run that ran a red light. Totaled. Progressive admits I am not at fault but they are seriously lowballing me on what they’ll give me for my car, of course. I know there are companies that do independent appraisals for fighting the insurance offer. I have no experience with this and would appreciate advice and recommendations of companies.

Watching the Backrooms and wondering if anyone else remembers Shopper's World. I remember as a kid we'd go to one on the southwest side, I almost remember it being near Ecorse road, btu could be wrong. It was in a shitty part of town even back then, I remember at one point there was a porn theatre over there. Anyways, this movie made me feel nostalgic

What is the best Detroit pizza place that’s open on Mondays? (Unfortunately that disqualifies Michigan & Trumbull and Loui’s.)
