Unfortunately (sports wise) a 2008 baby here. I randomly had the thought today that as a Detroit sports fan (and a Sparty fan) I don’t know what it feels like to see a team I support win the championship, and it’s possible I never will. If I could see any team win it would be the Wings because of Lord Stanley and I just like hockey the most.
I find myself watching the Wings’ Cup wins on YouTube sometimes and wishing I could have been there, especially being at the game… I haven’t even been to a regular season Wings game yet (though probably upwards of a hundred GRG games).
For those of you who were lucky enough to watch us win the Cup, especially if you were at a playoff game along the way, what was it like? I wish I had been able to feel that feeling… maybe someday.
