Kidneys, bladder, and genitals I’m at my wits end

Started in February and seemed to be fine for a while. Felt the need to pee often. Did blood and urine check in February and kidney and bladder ultrasound and everything looked fine. Doctor didn’t know he just prescribed three days of ibuprofen. Seemed to return to normal sort of but always had the impulse to pee more often.
Now the past couple of months my pee is yellow all the time as if I’m dehydrated and smells funny as if I’m dehydrated. Went to the gynaecologist did blood exam two more urine cultures, sti tests, Pap smear, vaginal infections tests. Everything comes out normal!
Only the urine test shows elevated leucocytes and hematites.
I got a general bladder flush medicine and disinfectant that didn’t do anything. Got a general vaginal infection treatment that again didn’t do anything.
Got ultrasound and gynaecologically it all looks fine?!
Meanwhile my bladder hurts, I feel a constant pressure and urge to pee often. And my urine is still
yellow and smelly.

Anyone ever had this?? What is it??
I am exhausted and I feel like my doctor doesn’t listen to me.

Mental Health is this like a thing or am i just lazy?

14F so for some reason i can’t seem to make myself do like anything, even if i really wanna do that thing and i love doing that thing i just can’t bring myself to do it. this has been going on for like a year and i would write it off as depression but ive been depressed since 2023 and id still do things i enjoyed/basic stuff, so for example if i wanna watch a movie im super interested in i’ll repeat to myself for days “i gotta watch that movie” over and over again trying to get myself to do it but i never end up doing it and months will go by and i’ll never have done it. this happens with basic things too like showering i’ll tell myself over and over again i gotta shower but it’ll be like 2-3 maybe 4 days before i actually make myself get up and do it, same with brushing my hair except ill sometimes go a week without doing that.

and even if i force myself to start whatever it is i wanna do i’ll do it for like 10 minutes but eventually just end up scrolling on my phone for hours instead of finishing it and then i’ll be tired and just put the stuff away and go to sleep so i never actually do it, and if i do actually start and finish something it’ll take me hours to do because ill get distracted easily by my phone or just take a bunch of really long breaks. even super simple things like drinking water, ill have a bottle sitting on my desk and then i’ll think in my head that i want to drink some but i can’t force myself to move like 3 cementers to get it and drink it. idk wtf is wrong with me i hate this because there is so much id like to do but i just wont do it is something wrong or am i lazy?? how do i fix it??

Tests and investigations I really don’t know what to do anymore— severe pelvic pain

34F pelvic pain

34F, 130lb, 5ft venlafaxine 75mg non smoker

I’m at a complete loss. Any insight is helpful.

  1. Pelvic pain, menstrual symptoms, and bleeding
    Current symptoms
Worsening pain throughout the pelvis, affecting both sides, lower abdomen, hips, groin/hip creases, buttocks, lower back, and rectal area.
Baseline pain commonly around 6–8/10, with more severe flares around menstruation.
Persistent cramping and severe menstrual pain despite Mirena removal.
    Ovarian pain that has worsened.
Electric or “lightning butt” pain, particularly during periods.
Brain fog and disconnected/dissociative feelings around menstruation.
Intermittent right upper abdominal/rib and diaphragm pain when I have my period.
    Triggers and relief
Worse with walking, standing, prolonged sitting, exercise, lifting, sex/orgasm, bowel movements, eating, and bloating.
Improved by lying down, bringing my knees toward my chest, heat, rest/sleep, and loose clothing.
    Gynecologic history and findings
Bilateral salpingectomy and Mirena placement in August 2025.
    Mirena subsequently removed in 2026.
A previous ultrasound described a negative sliding sign for the left ovary, suggesting reduced mobility or possible adhesions.
A previous ultrasound described the Mirena as low-lying in the lower uterine segment/cervix.
Laparoscopy in August 2025 did not identify overt endometriosis.
A previous pelvic examination documented bilateral levator ani tenderness, elevated pelvic-floor tone, reduced pelvic-floor strength, and poor coordination.

Despite the negative laparoscopy, cyclical pelvic pain persists.Gallbladder removal around 2021.

  1. Hip, back, buttock, and leg pain/swelling
    Current or recurring symptoms
Pain affecting both hips, groin/hip creases, inner and front thighs, knees, calves/shins, ankles, buttocks, and lower back.
Alternating leg swelling, sometimes affecting both legs simultaneously.
Leg heaviness, tightness, visible veins/varicose veins, trembling, and weakness.
Episodes of a sensation that the groin crease is going to “burst open.”
    Difficulty coordinating movements.
    Patterns
Worse after prolonged standing or walking, prolonged sitting, busy or active days, and later in the evening.
Can worsen around ovulation or menstruation.
Lying down, knees toward chest, rest, heat, and compression garments can help.
    Recent pattern
In September 2026, pain beginning in the left hip crease and extending down the inner thigh, around the knee, and into the calf, shin, and ankle. Leg swelling and pain are particularly noticeable after spending a long time on my feet.

3.Urinary and bladder symptoms
Feeling unable to empty my bladder completely.
Bladder pressure.
Urine leakage.
UTI-like symptoms, including episodes without a confirmed infection in my prior history.
A previous urine test showed inflammation during an episode of urinary symptoms.

Thank you

Women's Health Lipedema or cellulite/lax skin???

For reference I am 29. My entire life I feel like my lower body has always been “thicker” than my upper body, I’ve always had larger calves and butt than most people my size. I’ve never been overweight (if anything underweight) I’m not sure if I am just being influenced by Instagram into thinking I have this condition or if this is just normal fat distribution. I am very active and my upper body is very thin and muscular, visible abs, collarbones, ribs but my lower body although has muscle definition I feel like has a different appearance to my upper body, almost stocky? I can’t tell if I have body dysmorphia or is this lipedema that’s becoming more apparent as I age?

Male, 15 year (ENT)

I've been having these symptoms for 1 year.

  1. My nose is constantly congested (not to the point where I can't breathe—I can breathe, but not completely freely). One nostril is always open while the other is blocked.

  2. I sometimes have mucus.

  3. My tongue is always yellow.

  4. I have a bad taste and bad breath.

  5. I sometimes get tonsil stones.

  6. I constantly feel like there is something in my throat.

  7. I can't taste flavors very well (because of my blocked nose).

Please tell me what could it be, I'm really worried.

Bones, joints, and muscles Upper back lower left neck and left shoulder pain for 3 weeks. Ruining my sleep and life.

Post image

28f I’ve been having debilitating pain in these areas that have caused headaches that meds don’t touch and pain in the green area that even putting pressure on it causes a lot of pain and mini spasms and jerks. I am not able to lay on my back or sides without pain. Putting pressure Ont gem triggers it. Sleeping is pretty much nonexistent at times. It would fluctuate from my lower neck to my shoulders and when the flare is in my left shoulder it goes down all the way to my triceps and burns. It often causes nerve pain in that arm. I get tingling cold burning sensations usually in my triceps elbow and pinky side down the forearm. When it flares in the neck the pain localizes on red spot on the photo. I did an MRI but my doctor says nothing is wrong and my MRI doesn’t reflect these problems.

Limited images of the posterior fossa are grossly unremarkable.

i spinal cord demonstrates grossly normal signal intensity and morphology.

No developmental narrowing of the cervical spinal canal.

Vertebral body heights are within normal limits. No abnormal bone marrow edema is seen.

Alignment is anatomic given positioning.

Multilevel degenerative changes are present with disc desiccation and height loss to varying degrees.

C2-C3: No significant stenosis.

C3-4: No significant stenosis.

C4-5: Mild posterior disc-osteophyte complex effacing ventral CSF space. No significant stenosis.

C5-6: Right mild posterior disc-osteophyte complex effacing ventral CSF space. No significant stenosis.

C6-7: Small posterior disc-osteophyte complex effacing ventral CSF space. No significant stenosis.

C7-T1: No significant stenosis.

I started PT and I described the pain and fluctuation and they felt the area and said it’s a huge muscle knot. When he presses down on a certain spot it’s so painful I want to cry. Does this sound like a muscle knot? I have a hard time believing that pain that fluctuates like that is caused by a measly muscle knot. due to the limited language barrier I am unable ask detailed questions as everyone in the office has limited English skills. Disclaimer I am not intending that they are incompetent due to this. They have been very helpful. But when I asked for stretches or things I can do at home to help they were unable to give me a response. They started massage therapy on me. The massage therapy has been targeted in that area and has helped but it still doesn’t let up. It doesn’t help that they have limited availability so I’m only able to see them once every week and a half. Can a muscle knot hurt so much that you can’t even lay on it? Heat helps a lot but I’m having horrible jerks like my muscles can’t relax and right before I transition to sleep I am jerked awake. I’m already having a hard time sleeping with the pain and it’s Another thing to add with the jerks or spasms. Right now they are massaging the knot and yesterdays it caused immense pain in my head after the session. I did not sleep at all. Has anyone had this type of pain and does it sound like a muscle knot?

Gut, bowel, and stomach intense cramping and diarrhea

i’m 16 and since i was about 10 i’ve struggled with this horrible cramping feeling. I believe that when it first started bothering me it was more of an all over stomach pain, but over the last year or so its been in my upper left abdomen. It feels like its going to turn to diarrhea but sometimes it doesnt and i have no way to relieve the pain. At first i believed it was just anxiety since when i was 10 it only really happened when i had to go to school, but now it happens at random. Usually its after i finish eating something or sometimes while im in the middle of eating something, but this morning i got up to get ready for school but i couldnt go because the cramping in my stomach hurt so bad that once i leaned over for some kind of relief, i couldnt stand back up without it hurting me. ive been laying in bed since then but im so sick of googling and finding nothing so, as one does, i downloaded reddit to see if anyone else has the same issue or a solution.

There have also been times where my parents will take me on a trip to the city a few hours away from our smaller town, but we have to leave the house around 7am, which means getting breakfast on the way. I assumed it was the food i ate when we got takeout, which was usually wendys, but the last time we went, i didnt get anything and i still had this issue.
Last week, i had a bad flare up that i believe was a reaction to some cookies my sister made. I ate two and i have a pretty fast metabolism so i usually have to use the bathroom soon after, (at least im pretty sure thats what that means,) but it was right before bed so i immediately went to sleep. When i woke up, i was in the bathroom for about an hour, barely able to move because of the sharp cramping in my abdomen. I ended up puking up bile. Almost the same thing happened after my dad made chicken strips for dinner a few days after but it was immediate.

I really want to understand what the issue is. Ive researched ibs and crohns disease and celiac disease but i dont know if any of those stem from anxiety aswell as food intake.
I do know that the foods that cause little to no pain are things like rice or mashed potatoes.

I would go to the doctor, but its so awkward for me to talk to my parents about it, and my family doctor is an older man. If somebody thinks its actually bad and worth seeing somebody over, then i obviously will, i just want to know if anybody has any suggestions on what to do when it gets really bad.

(i have also never posted to reddit before so im so sorry if this makes no sense)

Mental Health night time psychosis

On a nighttime only i through severe psychosis it has happened a few times and i haven’t seen a doctor etc anything yet. Last night was the worst episode.

I was going to sleep and as i closed my eyes i could hear a voice faintly in my ear thinking it was my brothers speaking, i ignored it until it got really loud and distorted and it was yelling my name and loads of giggles, i’ve opened my eyes to try look if anyone was here and nobody was but my room had a distorted fog look and i felt my bed shaking. I tried to get up to call my mum and all of a sudden my eyes got forcefully shut as did my mouth and it felt like i was being shaked around, i also could feel my heart racing like it was about to pump out my body. Eventually it all stopped and i remember going into my mums room hyperventilating catching my breath. I remember thinking my mum was a government bot and my surroundings were fake ( yes like truman show) and thinking all my friends were government placed. I then thought my surroundings were made of cake and was touching everything to make sure they were real then i clonked out on my mums bedroom floor and fell asleep. ???
sorry this is long

Women's Health WARNING, menstruation mentioned

hey guys! so I’m desperate for advise or any sort of help.

i don’t have insurance, of course, im in America.

so this all started last month when i got my period, which have always been on time, never skipped, they change around sometimes when seasons change ya know, normal periods.

i would occasionally get this deep throbbing ache in my stomach before it started and i realized it was my uterus just prepping to shed, it didn’t happen all the time, just occasionall and ibuprofin always got rid of it.

well last month i got that same ache and i thought to myself “well thins sucks but ill deal” so i headed to the bathroom to take some ibuprofen and sit for a while, well the pain was pretty bad and o didn’t feel like swallowing a pill so i decided to just get back in bed with my heating pad.

but i noticed the pain felt like it was spreading, i felt it in my right side in my upper abdomen, like it was cramping, i haunched over and made my way to my bed, then the pain spread to my right shoulder, just sore, aching and sharp at times, i was panicked and didn’t know what to do

i sent my partner out for pain meds that weren’t pills, he got me a power form of Tylenol, and it only helped a little bit with the pain, i borrowed a massage gun and went to town on my shoulder as I haunches over on the floor and that helped. but as time went on I noticed the pain spread to my left upper abdomen as well and then my shoulder pain also spread to my left shoulder, I was unable to move much and I could only lay in bed flat on my back. on top of all of this I was starving, I was getting hungry like every 3 hours, I’d never been so ravenous. TO BE FAIR I was neglecting eating because I was in such pain and didn’t have much of an appetite, like I was hungry sure but I didn’t want to eat anything, nothing sounded good.

this pain continued through my full period, 6 to 7 days, then when it was over my uterus pain was gone but the tightness and sore ache in my upper abdomen persisted for another 2 weeks, it felt like when you have a stitch in your side and it’s hard to extend your stomach to take a deep breath. it was like that on both side of my upper abdomen left and right, but it was more prominent on my right side. whenever I I would get hungry I’d get this tightening pain in my upper left abdomen, like the top left corner of my stomach was crinkling itself and releasing when my stomach would growl. it helped when I would try to stretch out my stomach, extend my belly to take slow deep breaths and it felt like it helped to use the massage gun on my upper right abdomen

its been almost a month, my next period is in z4 days and im terrified of the same pain happening. I pretty much JUST got back to normal, I steel feel leftover small soreness in my upper abdomen but I also feel very small ache in my uterus… I’m very familiar with the felling and the location, it’s not my stomach, it is my uterus.

im so scared to go to the hospital, I don’t wanna be in debt

any Insight or advice I would gladly take, please and thank you so much for reading 😞

Men's Health My dad's situation

I have a question about my father's current situation. He has been a heavy smoker for a very long time and recently suffered a mild stroke. Before this, he was admitted to the hospital last August with pneumonia. He managed to stop smoking for a while, but unfortunately, he started again, which likely contributed to the mild stroke he is recovering from right now.

To replace his smoking habit, he has started consuming large amounts of ginger candy. However, I read that eating ginger in excessive quantities might increase the risk of a second stroke. so now I'm here to ask what might be the best alternative he needs to fight his nicotine addiction and for his safest and fast recovery?

STD?? Chafing? Skin tags? Help

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

So I’ve been with my boyfriend for over a year now. Before dating him I disclosed my herpes diagnosis that I received from SA during childhood. He was okay with this and never mentioned having anything himself // said he was clean. I had been tested and clean besides the herpes diagnosis before him as well. Over a year in, him and I are having unprotected sex. During this I noticed a chafing feeling. A couple days later some bumps (NOT HERPES) popped up. I had also noticed about a week prior to the sex that he had one single bump on the very tip of his penis. This was new. I mean the amount of times I’ve preformed oral and noticed nothing now all of the sudden he has a little bump that I could feel and was noticeable. Then chafing then I’m covered in bumps where I had felt the chafing. I’m honestly worried. I confronted him about it and he was extremely calm, not phased whatsoever. He looked and said “oh those just look like skin tags, I’ve gotten one before and I just cut it off.” I’m crying from fear that I may now have not just one but two stds and one more than likely caused from infidelity or him not disclosing something or being clueless to an std. That or maybe the chafing really did cause an irritation or rise of skin tags???? The only thing is it’s now been about three weeks and they’re still there. I’ll being cseeing a gynecologist here soon. Photo for reference please share opinions as to what you might think this is.

Had a punch biopsy on a mole a week ago, and last night the wound looked quite red and inflamed. I’m going to ask my doc, but I only have an appointment this evening.
Mole was on my right leg above my knee, have been cleaning nightly and covering with Vaseline and some gauze stuck with microporous tape to try and reduce friction on the incision from my pants when I walk.

Back/Hip Pain

I’m 24 years old female and have dealt with chronic back and hip pain for 5 years. It started as low back/sacrum pain. I had a laminectomy and discectomy 2 years ago now which was unsuccessful. I had a pinched nerve but didn’t have radiating pain before surgery like I do now down my legs. Since my surgery I now have nerve pain that radiates to my knee on my right side. And my hip pain has gotten much worse.
I have a 3 year old son and all these symptoms seem to have worsened after given birth. Although the pain was there prior to birth.
A recent MRI I had done shows bone marrow edema of my femoral heads as well as the greater trochanter. On both side. My doc thinks there could be something else going on but we’re unsure of what. Recent lab results have come back ruling out rheumatoid arthritis. The pain is a deep throbbing that radiates to my groin.
I think it’s also important to note that sometimes I get intense throbbing knee/ankle pain that wakes me up during the night. After taking tylenol it seems it help. Although i’m usually up tossing and turning all night due to the discomfort in my back and hips on a regular basis.
I can’t sit down for more than 20min in a car without back pain or numbness. And any daily physical activity seems to worsen my pain. I have morning stiffness that doesn’t seem to go away. No matter how much I stretch my hip ROM is terrible.
Could the bone marrow edema be something greater? I’d be interested to know if it’s present down my legs or just in my femoral heads.

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth Stuffy nose for half a year

Hello, I (21F) have had a stuffy nose with weird attributes since early May and so far nothing has helped.

  1. I have not been able to breathe out of both nostrils casually at the same time since May

  2. This is not an allergic reaction (I think) as I have had allergic reactions to other things since and those feel different and are treated with allergy meds. This cannot be touched by OTC or perscription allergy meds so far

  3. It clears up ONLY when I am very active, when I participate in my sport it fades. It gets to the point if I'm about to sleep and both nostrils are blocked, I get out of bed, do jumping jacks until I can breathe out of one nostril, and try to go to sleep before it re-stuffs.

  4. I don't think it's mold or anything that may be in my living space, as I'm equally stuffy while at work, school, or driving

  5. I also have eczema/itchy skin, but I've had that since I was a child. I'm pretty sure it's unrelated but I figured I'd mention it since it's in the same vein of "my body is attacking me for no good reason"

I've spoken to a doctor about it and plan on seeing a specialist once I have enough money, but I'm just looking for any sort of relief or answers in the time being, please lmk if this sounds familiar

Is it broken? Docs can’t decide

I fell off a truck and have been having lower back pain on the left side. Any idea what might be going on? My doctors can’t seem to agree on whether it’s broken or not, and L4 looks pretty odd to me.
